Werewolf + cat girl would likely result in cat-children with a tendency to turn into werewolves from time to time. Being a cat-girl is more akin to being of a dark skinned people, though obviously a bit more extreme, while lycanthropy is more akin to infectious disease, though unlike a disease it's...

The real question on preference is, do they stay that way or go back and forth.

Is a shapeshifter, or a one time transformation.

However, the posit of a Cat-Were crossed with a Werewolf mixes two already mutated species. Either they would be infertile with each other, or the kids would chase themselves a lot...(Cats and Dogs?) Seriously, there is a limit as to how far the altered Genome could be changed to accomodate the new...

How I classify between the two groups. with in the werewolf group Lycian: assumes full wolf shape for either a set period of time or at certain times. Like king Lycias and his descendents which had to remain wolves for nine years (unless they are someone in which case it was permanent) a variant is ...

Cross species Werewolfism

Its a weird thought, Now we have guys like Blade and Donovan half human half vampire who become Dhampirs, vampires with zero special weaknesses basically but tend to side with humanity. A werewolf with a human always seems to result in a werewolf for some reason. a werewolf with a vampire seems to g...

The therionthrope thing means animal shapeshifters. Its used originally by Dungeons and Dragons as Lycanthropy means wolf man basically. Its to include ALL animals. However the way its used here seems to be the whole inhuman angle. For example a person who must become a wolf, and looses some control...

Zoanthropes: humans who assume a beastperson form by sheer will. Exist naturally and can only assume one best form, although each individual is different and even those related to each other may become different animal species. (Bloody Roar versions) this is an example to show that we can use just a...

The whole inner beast letting loose and out of control was the original appeal of the werewolf, that we all have the capacity to do harm and go on rampages and have no control of ourselves but our humanity locks that away. However recognizing human evil, not becuase of loss of control but because th...

I draw the line as far as i please, just as i like to dream as i please. Some scientists do it, so why can't i?

Please, don't collide your line with mine.
I think he means where do you draw the line in a live action movie setting.

The medium is the key to our expectations of a "werewolf" In anime: it can simular to a cat-girl. Although what we would call a werewolf is rare in this medium as wolf-demons and dog-boys are more prefered along side the simular cat-girls. In fact aside from Vampire Hunter D, Nightwarriors...

Wolverine Sabretooth were two early ones but now in movies and Tv... they have given this ability to Godzilla Hulk Jason Vorhease (Friday the 13th #10 made him a regenerater rather than a zombie) Pain Killer Jane Naruto and the list goes on.

Shape Shifting vs Not shape shifting

Not so much a poll (which is why I left that out) but a place to discuss the pros and cons of each type. The cursed person who is forced to become a wolf. The person who shape shifts at will (to full form or inbetween). and those who are stuck in beast mind and body (think Ginger Snaps) or stuck as ...

I hate fancy names like Lycans and Theironthropes.

and I really hate saying "those things" and such like zombie movies do.

Ordinary people should call them what they would recognize them as "werewolves" they can call themselves what ever (preferably something unique to them)
