Re: Twilight MMO in the works
Umm...I feel kind of dumb for asking this, but what's an MMO?

What if...
I just thought of this, and I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with it, so bear with me. I was thinking about how the most well-known aspects of the werewolf mythos: the vulnerability to silver, the pentagram on the hand (which I'd never heard of before), and the transforming at the full moon, ha...

Re: The Plague Approach
You know, I just thought of something. If the werewolves are intelligent enough to increase their numbers by purposely infecting others, they probably wouldn't use either of the methods I described. They would slowly, methodically, and quietly contaminate the food and water supply. I imagine a small...

Re: Legislature banning animal-human hybrids
I love how the best defense/argument the guy can muster is "The definition of what human is will be challenged!" Definitions of things change, humanity included. The future has never been known for suffering lightly fools who attempt to hold steadfast to old definitions and practice...

The Machine That Goes 'Ping!'. "The Administrator's coming! Quick, turn everything on!" I'm not sure if anyone here has played PROTOTYPE, but there are viral detectors that can, somehow, detect infected individuals. Namely you, the main character. I ponder if such a thing could be rigged ...

Re: The Plague Approach
Just to add my own personal nitpick to this, zombies don't bite to infect; they bite to kill and devour. It's just that since zombies are slow and rather unsteady on their feet, it's fairly easy for a victim to escape before being eaten. And of course they collapse and die later on, only to reanimat...

Re: The Beast of Bray Road: a modern sighting
You know, I remember hearing about this once in the '90s. I don't recall hearing the words "Bray Road" until I watched that awful movie on the SciFi channel, though. I was watching one of those 'paranormal mystery' shows, and they ran a story on what they just called "the Wisconsin We...

Re: The Term "Lycan".
I never heard the term 'lycan' until I saw Underworld; I always assumed it was short for 'lycanthrope'. Since, as far as I know, the phrase was coined specifically for that movie franchise, I would only use it in reference to the werewolves of that franchise. That makes sense, doesn't it?

Re: How could you tell someone is a werewolf?
Another possibility I just thought of: eye shine. If they retain the ability to see in low light levels while in human form, they would just about have to have this. It probably wouldn't be anything dramatic though; you'd have to be looking for it to see it.

Re: Legendary?
I think that might be a good idea too. Just because even though everyone's been really cool here, it can be a little intimidating to say "I disagree with you" when you-and everyone else- can see that that person has over 1000 posts, and you've got 6 or 7.

"Scott Gardener" is our resident medical expert. My advice: next time just entitle the thread "Hey Scott! Medical question!" I'm sure the doctor will see you soon. Anywho, I've got a question for you. How come it's got to be DNA? Remember genes code for what your physical charac...

About all these medical test scenarios...
I've noticed that when someone starts talking about werewolves and doctors, i.e. 'what would happen if one had a checkup?', it usually doesn't take long for people to mention DNA. But the thing is, most of the things people list as reasons for a werewolf to seek medical attention wouldn't cause a do...

Re: How could you tell someone is a werewolf?
I have a theory, but it only really applies if someone was specifically looking for werewolves. If I understand correctly, canines have a noticeably higher average body temperature than most humans do. Since there seems to be a consensus here that werewolves would keep some wolf-like attributes/abil...

Re: A Werewolves Hands and Claws
I personally believe a werewolf would use its hands and claws as its weapons of choice, because anything that has hands would use them. Plus, since I assume we're talking about the gestalt form here, they would still have the human capacity for reason and logic. i.e., "Hmmm, claws. I bet I coul...

The new girl says "Hi!"
Hi, everybody! I've actually been poking around here for quite a while, but I couldn't think up a username. I think I only managed to come up with one now because I just couldn't stand not being able to respond to all the great posts here.
