Re: Don't see New Moon. I beg you...
I just got back from seeing it. I agree with alphanubilus. It was far better than the first one. I was never really bored, which was what really surprised me. The wolves were impressive. Taylor Lautner did a good job, but it was Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning who stole the show in their brief eigh...

Damn, this movie's beaten the midnight and Friday records of The Dark Knight. 26 million at Midnight Showings and 71 million from Friday showings. o_O

Speaking of MST3K, those guys did a Rifftrax for the first Twilight and it's hilarious.

I'm sneaking in to see it because I need to kill movie time while waiting for Ninja Assassin to come out.

Re: WTF was that thing...???
In regards to Van Helsing, my favorite wolf from that movie wasn't even technically in the film; it was from the teaser poster released a year before the movie. http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/8786/wolfman.jpg I love this one. It just looks so menacing and feral without looking like a wolf-head s...

Re: WTF was that thing...???
To me the Aaron Sims concept art looks like his concept design for the Prince Caspian werewolf went out, mated with a female Underworld lycan, and that would be their pup. Full grown of course. :D Whereas the beast in the movie was the retarded brother of this. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs24/f/2007...

Concept art from Cirque Du Freak by Aaron Sims of the Wolf Man.
His concept art generally is better than what's presented in the movies.

Re: WTF was that thing...???
It looked like a modified version of the creature from the Crate segment of Creepshow. That said, I liked the movie. John C. Reily and Ray Stevenson saved the film big time.

Re: 9
I saw 9 today. It was amazing, but definitely NOT for kids. With all the horror films I watch regularly, this movie showed things that disturbed me. And in my opinion the ending didn't suck. It was sad, but at the same time had a glimmer of hope for the future. This was one of the better films of th...

What books/novels area? Unless I'm missing something but there's no section on the main page that I see other than the werewolf novels section, otherwise I would've posted it there.RedEye wrote:Uhhh...
Werewolf forum, okay? I would suggest you move this to the books/novels area instead of leaving it here.

The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan
Finished it tonight.
I'll give a more in-depth review at some point. But seriously. Go read it right now. Awesome vampire novel. Think Salem's Lot with a bit of the I Am Legend novel and that's what it's like. Can't wait for the sequel.

Re: Watchmen
I dug the movie to an extent, though it is very long, and while Patrick Wilson gave a good performance I thought, his character was just too annoying. Though he fared better than Malin Ackerman, who seemed to go through William Shatner syndrome with how she delivered her lines. Jackie Earle Haley as...

Where The Wild Things Are
http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/wherethewildthingsare/ So many flashbacks to my childhood, and that book came about while watching this trailer. It looks incredible. I'm still so pleased that they didn't go with CGI and kept it with the suits, using CGI just to give the faces more personality, and...

That can't be right. I've seen The Feeding and the werewolf suit in that was low budget, and it painfully showed. It looked like a diseased horse with fangs, lol.

Need Help Identifying a Werewolf
I was browsing youtube and found a music video with this. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/LycanFury/Werewolf%20Stories/Image3.jpg I also saw this same wolf makeup used - with different tinting - on an Animal Planet special about Skinwalkers. Does anyone know where this originally came from? T...

Re: Twilight the Movie-Your Reviews!
Ugh, this was horrible. And no, I've never read the books, but I've also read reviews of the movie from people who liked the books but hated the film, so it's not just me. But, yeah, this was bad. Sparkling vampires... Give me the badass western gang in Near Dark or the savage animal pack in 30 Days...

Re: Knowing,Push and The Unborn
I'm skipping The Unborn. Ever since Blade: Trinity I've avoided anything David Goyer has done. Push looks entertaining but at the same time feels almost like Jumper 2 or something. As for Knowing...I don't know. Nicholas Cage movies nowadays tend to suck (Ghost Rider), though I love Rose Byrne. Gues...

The Punisher: War Zone, AKA A Million Heads Blown Off
Alright, here's the deal with the movie, it has cheesy dialogue, insanely over-the-top acting from everyone except Ray Stevenson and Julie Benz, and just overall it's rather bad. But it revels in that fact, and pumps more violence into it than any Saw film. People don't just die in this movie, they ...

The Evil That Is Black Friday
Apparently at a Wal-Mart in New York there was a riot that resulted in one man being trampled to death and a pregnant woman having a miscarriage. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/29/business/29walmart.html?ref=business And from what I also heard even when the medical team was trying to revive the guy ...

Re: Werewolves in videogams, what do you prefer?
I like Celestialwolf's idea about the Grand Theft Auto idea, where it's something that has storylines that you can partake in, but it's also free-roaming in an entire city, or a large mountain town and the surrounding wilderness (mountains/woods/etc), and you choosing to hide it out in the woods and...

Man, my review for this was delayed. But I've seen it 3 times in the theater and I have to say I loved it. A great vampire movie, and a nice film that came out for the Halloween season to distract from the tired formula of the Saw movies. The acting was solid all around, with Danny Huston and ...
