You are thinking of the weight of a wolf's tail, which is light to a human. A werewolf's tail is going to be heavier than that, a human could still lift it of course it's not THAT heavy. Do you fall over when you bend over ? It throws you off balance but you position your legs to account for it. Now...

My interest in wolves started when they began turning up in my art frequently ( I also had werewolves but I didn't know that's what they were ) . I tend to draw what dream and these creatures had been appearing in my dreams for awhile. My first real interest in werewolves happened after reading the ...

Oh, I forgot to add something. Deer, Moose develop stronger neck muscles to support the weight of the antlers on the head. I don't see a long tail on them to counter-balance that. 2nd question first, deer, moose, ect...have a four-legged stance and they are closer to the ground so there is less gra...

The one in the middle is the easy example of counterbalance as it's plain to see. The first human has all his weight forcing down for balance. The third the werewolf is what I was thinking if perhaps only a little more so. If we could animate that image as the WW's head would move up/down , far left...

Looking for Wolf or Werewolf items...

I'm looking to expand my werewolf themed haunt this year and I need some props and masks. If anyone has anything just post it here with a pic or email me at tenadowell@hotmail.com with info. That's my aunt's address so I will be sure to get it.

Thanks !

Guessing aside, it would seem more likley a werewolf would only be able to shift conciously, at least after the first time.

Re: Close Encounters of the Hungry Kind

If you think about it, the projected evolutionary path suggests something akin to the "Gray" aliens. Spooky? However, in order to evolve, selective forces have to influence who does or doesn't reproduce. I can put forth a perfectly good argument that humans are evolving dumber and dumber,...

Most people would need training to balance well, the average guy off the street probably couldn't balance that well. Humans have adapted to life without a tail , which might not be a good thing from what I've read. Humans have a lot of back problems resulting from an upright walking stance. One exp...

The repetative bitting motions canines do is their way of chewing their food.... just fyi :D It's good you guys aren't making the movie for ratings. I agree with Figarou, having a werewolf film that's emotional could change the way people think of werewolves.... it could discourage the mindless kil...

It seeems to make more sense to me if a werewolf can change at will whenever they want and then stay in that form until they decide to change back. As far as sleeping however what if you shifted during your sleep ? Much like talking in your sleep or sleep walking, canines will run in their sleep. So...

Since we are talking about ducks, look at a T-rex, it has a longer tail to balance out the large skull and muscular body of the front, dinos with smaller build toward the front have slimmer tails. Now onto the bird part, a bird like a raven would fall forward with no tail. Flightless birds like DUCK...

I get the same thing for my large dragon collection, plenty of wide eyes and compliments, the same goes for my wolf collection, but people see my werewolf collection even the large models and custom work and I get: " You like to make your wolves scary.." " What is that ? " "...

Heh, It would not be boring to see a human getting eaten. I would think that the gums would be bleeding, teeth are growing longer and pointer. Also as the muzzle forms, I would think more fangs would burst out of the gums. Owwie (we need a werewolf emoticon in pain :D ) I'm glad that all the ...

I've read Baring-Gould (in fact, the entire book is on the Internet and not hard to find), but Summers is more complete. They both have a real bad attitude about Weres. I haven't read the O'Donnel and Warren books. O'donnel's is a bit more difficult to find than the others, it contains legends of w...

Back on track, people. So, in the movie, do you want howls to be actual messages to people? hwlwnk I think we all agree that howls are messages whether long or short. I think we should also include that some howls are emotional as well portraying anger, sadness ect...as well. A message and an...

Once every full moon would be ok....just be ready to run

My best howling date is halloween, you can howl as much as you want then, people expect weirdness so they don't pay as much attention. Especially with their yards being T.P.ed and cars egged, howling is the least of their worries.

Re: How Acrobatic Is A Werewolf?

You could probably attribute that to the same thing that allows werewolves to shapeshift -- everyone can do it, but some people can naturally while others can only accomplish such in a state of emergency where the body's physical tensions can be ignored. A werewolf might be able to accomplish every...
