Hi Guys! I had an absolute BLAST seeing you all this year (again) And meeting a bunch of new faces! I think Friday night was the highlight of the con for me - it was great getting together, chatting about Freeborn, introductions and the mad scramble to find a place that was still serving food ^_^. I...

I think that a dog would probably act towards a werewolf in human form no differently. In the gestalt form, a werewolf might cause even their own dog to think twice. I have a large werewolf costume, and if I wear it around my dog, he barks at me - acts as if it was a large, strange dog - looking ner...

From most of my readings into Folklore, silver is a recent addition to the werewolf myth - namely with hollywood and the wolfman. The only connotation I can find to silver in the myths is actually with Windigo myths of the Algonkian indians, not werewolves, but there appears to be a LOT of crossover...

And as far as protections, if Nagini is one, then she isn't overly protected. And I think that Harry being who he intrepreted to be his prophesized killer is a damn good "protection" ^_~. But we'll see! In.... oh, 2 or so years ^^;

I'm actually REALLY happy with the costume that ShadowSaber made for me last year - imho it looks more like a real wolf and less monsterous (I don't like the furless face look, etc)

Mmm... just recently finished the book myself! Wonderful read, and defiantely better than the last book. I put it right under the 3rd and 4th books in my favorites list. Anywho - I liked more of the development with Lupin and the werewolves - but I admit I find it most amusing being able to spot any...

*Grins widely* Definately committed! Certain intentions to see it in the theater multiple times and buy the DVD.

I also agree that it would be wonderful to have an officially sanctioned Pack Premier of the movie hwlwnk

Actually, ironically, in one of the few playboys I picked up, it had a werewolf comic in it as well - I don't QUITE remember it, but it was something to the effect of a man sneaking into a woman's bedroom, a full moon in sight, for an affair, and her mentioning that they would be fine, as her husban...

I'm going to have to go with Van Hellsign as well.... I also noticed the strange ears (and of course no tail) - I think the main problem with the ears is that they were very thin, virtually hairless, and positioned on the very TOP of the head, instead of connecting lower on the skull like an actual ...

I've thought about this too - and unfortunately this is one of the biggest stumbling blocks I've thought about as far as the plausibility. I don't buy the "less dense" idea - I can't picture a 120lb female gestalt form werewolf no matter how you cut it - the fur alone would be pretty heavy...

Reilune - Odd - I've never heard of a canine with dewclaws on the hind feet 0.o And *nods* outward doodles - the main difference is that humans have the skeletal makeup for a tail - all the bones are there, just fused and tucked. The points here are actual bones that are present in one species but n...

Personally, I never much cared for the "shedding" idea - be it fur/hair, teeth or fingernails - I can understand the logistics of it - especially given how mammals work - but I don't know - for some reason I guess growing a pelt of fur, and then shedding it off every time one changed alway...

Teeth and Bones - things that don't add up

In most respects, humans and canines aren't ALL that different anatomically speaking. We're both "higher" order mammals, our common ancestors going back to small rat or shrew like creatures. We're mammalian, most of the bones in our body have an equivalent in a canine, albeit the specific ...

Lactose production is a good example of that. People with lactose intolerance have the genes to break down lactose, they just don't turn on. Want to know something strange? I have been thinking on how things might change in a werewolf.. and come up with a delicate subject.. and what the implecations would be. Many men living in the US are circumcised. Well, it also all comes down to the fact that DNA is the basic building blocks for ALL Species. You can't infect someone with "wolf" DNA and have them turn into carbon copies of the wolf unless you did a damn near complete replacement of someone's DNA. Admittedly, we share a pretty high pe...

It looks like most of what I would have contributed has been said already. I agree that the "infection" would need to be transmitted via bodily fluids into the blood stream of the new werewolf (ie, a scratch wouldn't do it, unless the werewolf had been sucking on his claws.) Perhaps even s...
