Actually, I wasn't able to afford a copy of the Harry Senn book, but needed to own one, so I finally photocopied the whole book. At 5 cents a page it was economical in comparison to the really expensive market price, and it was legal too (according to copyright law, researchers may photocopy ONE co...

The Harry Senn book does talk about Romanian werewolves and vampires, but it also talks about other werewolf and vampire beliefs, and about Eastern European folklore in general (including even a bit about dragons and fairies). I remember that this book had a whole bunch of stuff about the relations...

There are a lot of decent computer RPGs that you can make custom mods for, and play them online with others.

As for the tail, I always assumed it was an extention of the spine, which all turns back into a human spinal column upon shifting back. So removing the tail would not only permanently maim the gestalt form, the human form would suffer too, possibly even becoming parapalegic (though this is an extre...

I don't think werewolves can regrow anything, but it may be possible to reattach limbs and have the nerves mend themselves, so long as it is done quickly before the body starts trying to heal without it (and the damage wasn't done with silver). This of course requires a level of healing some aren't ...

I've never gone for the 'allergic to silver' thing. I see it more as silver inhibiting the 'healing factor' that lets werewolves regenerate from near-fatal injuries. Realistically silver shouldn't hurt a werewolf any more that it hurts anyone else. Imagine the shocked dentist that applies a silver/m...

And since he is still a real saint, there'd be no reason for anyone to get suspicious about honoring St Christopher's day. I'd think a hunter who's constantly looking for signs would be more likely to react to "Happy Salmon Run" or whatever. *nods* That's true about the Salmon Run. The on...

St. Christopher. . . Isn't that the one the Catholic Church got rid of? Actually he's one of several Saints that went under review when the Vatican decided to get rid of all the imaginary saints, since most were based on pagan heroes or gods. But when all was said and done, the church still acknowl...

Ah. Well, in that case, it might not be the best of slang terms. For one thing, most people remember the Wolf Man, not Larry Talbot, so it wouldn't be a popular term since people that use it would often have to explain it. That and non-werewolves might overhear it and ask about it as well. That's w...

Well, yeah, I see your point, but you get the idea. Just some sort of obscure holiday that it's blatantly obvious neither character celebrates, or even something goofy like "happy un-birthday" or something cynical like "happy F@&^$ whatever." The point is that it's code disg...

Steiger's book is quite flawed. Just try looking up the entries that refer to werewolf bites. He has one entry saying that folklore werewolves do create more werewolves through bites, while a different entry explained that they do not and why people mistakenly have often passed on this piece of fak...

To keep it on topic, I'll suggest that certain perfumes that humans may enjoy could have a most opposite affect on a lycanthrope's olfactory organ. Especially a musk-based scent. Like "Channel #5"? Exactly! May not technically piss a werewolf off, but it could whip him into an instinctive...

I think that came from the move Draculer. There are no legands I have read that talk about it. Well, the only books I have in front of me are Brad Steiger's (flawed) The Werewolf Book and Brian J Frost's The Essential Guide to Werewolf Literature . Both discuss the idea of the Greek Vrykolakas , wh...

There's a new art material called "silver clay." It's pure silver in clay form that can be molded and bakes out to 99% silver. Pack medallions could be made out of that. I still have some researching to do into the material. If it can be done in a conventional oven and doesn't require an ...

WHAT happened to all of you?! http://img150.exs.cx/img150/5909/vuldariconfused8in.gif Why do you WANT these things now? Methinks you're exaggerating the situation a bit. You know, I appreciate all the random feedback this thread is getting, but wouldn't it make more sense to list things that would piss off a werewolf and not a normal human? I don't think you needed to mention the manure shower -- that seems pretty universal if you ask me. Besides, I've seen canines...

The best way to piss off a werewolf is to show him the full moon!! http://www.figarou.com/avatars/moon.gif Why not? I get what Vuldari is saying, and for the most part I agree with him. If all a werewolf was about was brute strength, then fine, go for the uber-physique, but otherwise balance makes sense. But I also gotta say there's nothing wrong with pumped up werewolves, assuming that a werewolf is a supernatur...

Both would be good, IMO. A polo shirt with a small Pack logo where the Izod alligator used to go would be awesome, because then I could wear it to work!
