Re: Claiming Nationality/Ethnicity.

I understand having pride of your roots, I do it too. I have both French, Tao Native Tribe roots and at times I will say that one of my ancestors are one of those, but do I say that I am part French? No because even though my genes may trace back to France I don't consider myself as part French bec...

Re: Claiming Nationality/Ethnicity.

One of the subjects that really irks me is when people go around claiming they are part X and Y country. Like a black American claiming to be African-American, majority of black people in the US are no way affiliated with Africa. Their ancestors maybe African, but that was hundreds of years ago. I ...

love at first bite, why we love werewolves

It seems like there is a multitude of different types of werewolf fans but how did you become a werewolf fan? 1.when and how did you first get into werewolves? 2.what type of werewolf fan are you? as for me: 1.I have been into werewolves for as long as i can remember. My favorite movie as a child wa...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

@ kitetsu: I really think calling a transformation gimmicky only bolsters my point that the monstrous werewolf is dismissed because it isn't pretty.. Beauty can be found in Analyzing the artistry in the creation of the monstrous werewolf. Good examples of what i find to be beautiful werewolf design...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

I'm not sure if you are suggesting one type is more evolved than the other That's completely separated from the pursuit of aesthetic precision based on what is known, rather than what is desirable or of certain taste, the known things are the man and wolf forms, which these style fueled tastes freq...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

@ wolfman 24 i agree about Underworld, i love the multiple types of werewolves and the designs are fantastic. I definitely see the beauty in their design. How many types of Lycans are there? the Original William werewolf. the first generation of Lycans, who looked closer to Williams design and never...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

I posted a couple of days ago, but pulled it to let my thoughts mature a bit,. There's been some good posts since then, and I think I'm realizing where the division might be. It's probably no surprise an artist started this thread, with the proposal for an all round healthier looking beastie to fri...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

First of all, thank you, I appreciate the clarification. :) the hostility i was referencing was in Serrina's post that she felt the monstrous design is a mockery of werewolves and there are other posts that reflect a dislike of the monstrous werewolf. I don't think it's so much as a dislike of the ...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

i would like to say that beauty is subjective and it seems like there is a sense of hostility towards the monstrous werewolf. Many of the artists who work on the practical effects for werewolf films do so as a labor of love, they seem to really care for the genre and their monstrous masterpieces. I ...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

I enjoy seeing what different movies do to create their own werewolf look, but I would like to see more design variety. I think one of my biggest pet peeves is fur. It usually looks long and stringy, and is one uniform color. If they borrowed more of the look of real wolves they could bulk it up to...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

Serrina, i don't think the way Hollywood approaches werewolves is in satirical fashion or with mockery. i think many creature effects are done as a labor of love. The 2010 wolfman was Rick Bakers homage to the original and he most defiantly has a lot of respect for werewolves. Many werewolf movies a...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

i for one really like the monstrous werewolf. I can appreciate the artistry in the creature effects of movies Like the 2010 wolfman and American werewolf in London. I totally see the beauty in a feral, beast like werewolf. The new comic Ferals, has some fantastic art work and although the werewolf i...

Re: Wolf Behavior vs. Human Behavior Vs. Werewolf Behavior?

Actually it is a retrovirus kind of thing.. However its not explored in the script as to 'what' it is.. "it didnt really come with an instruction manual" to the werewolves themselves. However the results still have them battling at times with their own inner natures.. their id, and their ...

Re: Wolf Behavior vs. Human Behavior Vs. Werewolf Behavior?

if the bite only awakens something within then the nature of the person would greatly effect the responses to any given situation. This could make for some terrifying scenarios. It could work especially well if the mechanism of action for becoming a werewolf is a curse, falling back on the horror m...

Re: Wolf Behavior vs. Human Behavior Vs. Werewolf Behavior?

Really? That's kind of a shame, considering this. Then let me rephrase. No one running and jumping off walls for no particular reason. This dog while adorable, has been trained to do this. Now if this same individual was willing to face a group of werewolves and train them to do that, then yes sure...

Re: Wolf Behavior vs. Human Behavior Vs. Werewolf Behavior?

parkour is only entertaining when they botch the trick. That's pretty sadistic. And sad, knowing that less people appreciate the dynamism of fluid movement. i was only kidding, not a sadist... i think that it takes a lot of skill and coordination.. maybe i should have included a little winking wolf...

Re: Real Werewolves, are they out there.

Yes and No for me. From a human point of view, without concrete evidence and exposure, I would firmly state that werewolves doesn't or cannot exist. But from my point of view, why not? Just because I may not believe that werewolves exist doesn't mean I am correct. I am open and fascinated to the id...

haha very true. Sometimes people are thinking that the true link of the whole werewolf term is coming from a human heritage. I can't place my finger on what it was called exactly, but its about how the child is covered completely in hair. hypertrichosis And I do believe we exist.... :P And it's kin...

Re: Wolf Behavior vs. Human Behavior Vs. Werewolf Behavior?

How about this. Lets look at it this way as we're all intelligent people. Lets say today, a werewolf showed up at each of our houses and bit us. Now we're all werewolves, Would we still be having this conversation? would we each see things differently? depending on what we all already know? or feel...
