Re: A beautiful werewolf?

I'd have to say that in descending order these are what I place my looks of werewolves as movies/tv go: Dog Soldiers: For the budget, the fact they didn't use CGI and relied on costumes (something I always respect in werewolf films) I have to say the over all werewolves looked good. Maybe a bit too ...

Re: The Downsides to Lycanthropy

Actually i did read a book that brought up a good point: in this case, the main characters father suffers from cancer, and eventually dies from it, and it's made worse by the fact he's a were cat. Why? because healing means cells multiply... including bad ones. So technically, wouldn't that mean a ...

The spoiled bacon phrase has me wondering what humans would smell like to a werewolf? *grins*

Re: The Downsides to Lycanthropy

One downside would be the emotional distance you would have to keep everyone at, and also food would probably smell pretty awful to a super-keen nose. Another side-effect, if not downside, is if you gained the healing factor/semi-immortality like in many werewolf stories, I would take up smoking ag...

Re: What problems would being a werewolf cause?

Problems could be many, depending on the exact mythos, I am so going to write a lengthy post here. Moon: If the full moon indicates when a werewolf shape shifts, then the person would have to revolve their whole entire life around the phases of the moon. If we get really scientific the full moon onl...

Re: Why more males than females?

I think a lot of this depends where you are looking. If you are looking at horror films there are way more males than female leads. Though movies like The Howling and American Werewolf in Paris try to change this a bit by having a very dominate female character. In modern literature there are quite ...

Re: Would you Willingly turn someone?

Would totally depend on the person and even then I am not sure. Would also depend on the nature of being a werewolf. Is it the cursed kind like on Being Human or American Werewolf in London? Or is it more like the Howling where you have more control over yourself? Would the person be trustworthy wit...

Re: Real Werewolves, are they out there.

So over all and probably stated a lot in this thread, I personally don't believe werewolves exist as most people think of, but is it possible? In the width and breath of the wide and expanding universe I will not rule it entirely out, but I'd need to see it to believe it. Yeah, not the movie-myth, ...

Re: Real Werewolves, are they out there.

The transformation sequence in that film was way too quick and I always wondered when they shifted back, where'd they get their clothes? You had to watch sparkly vampires, and your nitpick on Twilight was the werewolves having extra sets of clothes? :eyebrow: Sorry the rediculousness of the sparkly...

Re: Real Werewolves, are they out there.

In the past I've been approached by people, mostly on line, who claim to be real werewolves. When I flat out asked for proof, photos of shape shifting, film, etc. the gambit of excuses as to why they couldn't was extraordinary ranging from they didn't want to tell anyone (which is odd because you j...

Re: Real Werewolves, are they out there.

Hmm...Part of me would like to say yes but I know that would be a fallacy of epic proportions. I always subscript to the Carl Sagan school of thought, that extraordinary claims need to be proved by equally extraordinary proof and that all good scientist believe in show me. In the past I've been appr...

Re: The Downsides to Lycanthropy

Depending on the mythology you follow could break down to what makes a werewolf a werewolf. If a werewolf is merely a human being with wolf traits and looks then that person would just be like their normal selves with just the perks of a wolf's abilities. However that is rather simple and probably n...
