Re: January 20, 2009
On the network media: CNN, Fox, and the alphabet networks...you probably should ask an Obama follower what they thought of the media coverage, at least during the primaries. In my local Obama group, we couldn't cap on CNN enough because of their clear fawning to Hillary and snubbing of everyone else...

Re: January 20, 2009
I have had...just...a DELIRIOUSLY happy day today. There were a few sour notes in this rhapsody but overall...I'm walking on air. I daresay, pure, indilute mead is flowing though my veins (metaphoric...but now that I'm in for the night I could safely take a nip off the ol' honey-wine bottle :) ) Bei...

Re: And now for something completely different!
Well, here was my thought. The "werewolf"(?) was in wolf form. I figured he's freaked out and that's why he's not going to Gestalt form. The descrip didn't mention blood, and unless the trap is coated in or alloyed with silver, it probably wouldn't harm a werewolf. A gestalt werewolf would...

Re: And now for something completely different!
All good, Midnight :) In light of clarifications... If the wolf in the trap is indeed a werewolf, there's not a lot I can do for him that he can't do for himself. He's probably a little freaked out and panicking, hence the crying jag. If the owner of the trap is actively hunting werewolves...then he...

Re: And now for something completely different!
vrikasatma: That would be operating under two assumptions... 1) The person in the scenario is an American. 2) The scenario is happening in America. Amending: I said "States" and "provinces," meaning all of North America, U.S. and Canada. Okay, so to be pedantic... American and C...

Re: And now for something completely different!
Lots of great thinking on this (theoretical) thread, but I'd just like to insert a Reality Check here: It's illegal to disrupt a trapline, legally set by a licensed trapper, in all states and most provinces. So if you're out in the woods and come across an animal in a snare, leave it alone or you'll...

Re: And now for something completely different!
Traps are usually attached to a peg or corkscrew-type device buried in the ground. I'd dig up the peg. Approaching scared, pissed, injured werewolf not required. The trap would still be on his paw but he could move elsewhere. I'd escape by another route, and/or parallel the werewolf so I could assis...

Is there something wrong with the site?
I've registered and tried to have the verification e-mail sent to me THREE TIMES.
Nothing's shown up.
It's not showing up in my Trash or Junk folders, either.
Or did I just miss the boat?

Re: Venting
The employment situation is getting BAD here. Eugene continues to hemorrhage jobs, and now I understand that employers are checking job applicants' credit scores as a hiring criterium. I got a lousy credit score because I let some medical bills float. What choice did I have? My insurance didn't cove...

Vrika vs. the Curse (bite)
Been doing a little thinking about that. Say a Vrika meets a cursed werewolf. The Vrika would be initially guardedly friendly if the encounter happens near their den or temple; if it happens on neutral ground, they'd be benignly-neutral to friendly, at least until aggressed against; then it's all be...

Re: Your Version Meeting Other Versions?
This reminds me that Wingman is working on a bit of art that would represent anyone interested as part of a sort of Werewolf preserve. It would also be interesting to see the lot of our more amicable weres gather at a bar in an art piece or a short comic, for beers or the particular beverages of ch...

Dragon Cake
Here's one for all you (us?) dragon fans. The trend of extreme cakes seems to be swinging our way. I Dugg up this article: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21474400@N04/2083342822/in/set-72157603359146328/ And I thought my nut torte castle w/melted chocolate and pistachio ice cream was stylin'. It's interesting that a lot of us wound up in the green square. Even more interesting that the Greenies wound up within four to six grid squares of each other in any direction! Maybe we should form our own political coalition: forget the Green Dogs, we're the Green Wolves! :laddie: I just switched o...

Interesting scenario... Okay, here's the what-fors and whereases of the Vrika, the Wolf Pashunara... The whole Pashunara race — all bloodlines — aren't immortal but they continually rejuvenate. They have seven Ages that they progress through: Cub, Hunter, Brother/Sister, Mother/Father, Teacher, Ange...

Re: HELLO MY WONDERFUL LOVERS AND SCRUMPTIOUS CUTIES!
In this case, I had no idea which way I was facing (which is something I can typically do, even with my eyes closed.), and thus was completely oblivious to my surroundings.
