Re: Horror and Werewolves. Can they ever part?

I'd say that we would first need an ironclad definition for 'horror' before we can decide whether werewolves need such elements or not. By definition, 'horror' means an overwhelming, sickening sense of fear. But not all people are afraid of the same things. Like, well, werewolves. Most people on thi...

In many native cultures, many different animals were considered borderline divine themselves, like the native american animal totems. For example, only a couple centuries ago, it was common here in Finland to call bear by some pseudonym, because it was though that if the bear heard its real name, it...

What makes you think "HE"? Or SHE... The ultimate is beyond gender, just as it is beyond conception. Gods are the faces we put on the ultimate. *wags a finger* Ah, ah, ah! Right back at'cha: What makes YOU think you're right? Got proof? Is there really only one single 'higher power...

In school choir, we sometimes did little 'voice-exercises', where we picked a single syllable, and then sang some simple little tune using that one syllable instead of the actual lyrics. ('Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' was one of the favorites) We even tried it with howling once or twice. Now that wa...

I've more or less given up on trying to put my beliefs into words. And I'm up to HERE with people who like to say they know exactly what makes one a therian. (no offense to anyone) No matter what one says they're bound to find someone who says: "That's not how it works for me." Especially ...

There are quite a few diseases that are specific to only one species of animal. And there are also diseases that affect humans, but not animals. I recall a book in which it was said that if one wanted to become a werewolf, eating the brains of an animal killed by a wolf was a sure way to do it. So, ...

'Other' I belong to the school that likes to think that both humans and normal wolves can become werewolves, so I'd say it's whichever form the person has been born in. And, because someone is bound to ask, I think that a cub from werewolf parents wound be born either as a human or a wolf (depending...

In one book I read it said that the curse could be lifted by death or hitting the werewolf three times on the forehead with a stick. (No kiddin'.) The death part is a bit of a two-edged sword, however, for many sources claim that people who die as werewolves very easily turn into vampires after death.

I absolutely cannot stand when a person comes to the forums pretending to be a werewolf, and tries to force their opinions on us as fact ...that's a massive insult to all of us, and it's damned inconsiderate. I did have a little growth spurt pains, but nothing that would distract me too bad.

Generally, I'm with the school that says shifting might be a little painful, moreso if you try to fight it, but mostly it would just feel weird.

I voted for therian.

Though depending on your definition of furry, yes, you could describe me as one of those, too. Generally though, 'furry' carries more negative package than 'therian', and I find more solace in the latter term, so theri it is.
