If the movie is to be filmed or edited digitally (which it probably will) then various colour filter-programmes can be used on it to wash out, reduce or blur the colours. It would probably be better to see what works best then if you're going to have any were-vision at all. As to theory... No, they ...

A note on animal 'acting'... I remember an old '1800s' show where a young girl was pirched about ive foot up a 'cliff' with a wolf wagging its tail and tugging at her dress playfully. The soundtrack? Growling and scre4aming of course - because the wolf was 'attacking her'. I've seen the results of t...

A fox looks like it is a cross between a cat and a dog, but in reality it is neither, but rather a creature of related but independent origins and a unique biochemistry of its own. Logically then, a werewolf *IS* a werewolf. It can *appear* in the form of a human, or a wolf, (and might once had been...

Dogs slobber mostly because we've ****ed around with their genes so much the mouth in many breeds simply isn't a good fit any more. If you're talking about drool... Well, human do that as well. I need not speak of the horrors that await the fates of those werewolf movie makers who made werewolf movies WITHOUT SHOWING PEOPLE CHANGE INTO WEREWOLVES, and tried to make an excuse for it. Aliens was a good science fiction film and they didn't how the alien until the very end. In fact it was a g...

One minor consiquence is that the werewolf might have a pretty good idea of what it actually is and how its strengths and weaknesses work. True there'd be a lot of lore and myth anyway, but they might be ableto sort the wheat from the chaff much more easily after a quick search of the local library/...

Made me think of the Paris werewolf's knees bending forward. A very well rendered transformation sequence, but some of the anatomy details seemed wrong. Than again though, what do you expect half way through a transformation sequence!

Okay, I'll rewrite the first question a little. Anyone who knows anything about the laws of physis and biology knows that anything like a classical werewolf is pretty much impossible. In a world where werewolves did exist though, the laws of physics and biology would allow werewolves to exist - even...

Werewlves, science, magic & Secret Scieties

Two questions: 1) It follows that if werewolves are impossible in our world, then in any world where they are possible there must be some fundamental differences in the way the universe and/or animal-life is put together. Since science is the study of the natural world, should scientists have notice...

The werewolf 'gene' might not be genetic. Since the change is effectvely magic, then it could be 'magical inheritance'. The young inherate half of their mothers 'aura' (for lack of a better word) in addition to half her DNA. In such a scenario you'd only ever have human and wolf parents and offsprin...

In most cases, the werewolf is ableto get up and walk around fairly quickly after they change. This is not reasonable in many cases, because the structure of the legs has changed significantly and/or they have two extra ones. They'd efectively have to learn from scratch (like stroke victims do) over...

What are your assumptions about the physical and mental change? If a person's body changes but their mind does not, then that could lead to a panic attack. However if there is no mental change at all the werewolf isn't going to be able to walk properly, much less go on a rampage. Without some mental...

No, but there seem to be certian God-PC tendencies in certian posts. I've seen it happen that a fictional species is logically evolved to the point where it is no longer interesting to anyone outside a small group. [edit] And I confess to have been both dumb enough to do it myself and refuse to list...

I explain away a furry's ability to talk bygiving them parret-throats. If they can generatesounds with a rigid beak, a similar mechanism should be able to generate understandable or even normal human speach with a muzzle. Dumb question: Wouldn't depend on the species of the father as well? If a werewolf changes from human to wolf then it follows that ALL of her internal cells also change from human to wolf. So her human eggs would turn to wolf eggs, and would probably suddenly become compatable with canines. So if sh...

Um, there isn't any delicate way to say this... But if you actually look at a female canine her dangly bits are not completely hidden by fur, and in fact petrude beyond it. The vagina sticks out in whole or (more often) in part. It has to, or she'd make a mess of her fur every time she urinated. Tho...

True Lasthowl, but just just for once I'd like to se a werewolf that looked even vaguely like an actual wolf. Because let's face it, on average, humans are nowhere near as photogenic. For it to be vissually recognisable as a wolf you need the right muzzle, ears, tail and fur. And a big reason it *sh...

Hmm. I can't really see the change as painful personally. Changing in either direction has to break just about every rule in biology there is and cause a whole host of health problems. I'd say the style of fur should variate in order to reflect a character's personality. Disagree. The only things that should affect a wolf's fur coat are seasons and health. So in winter it's thicker, and if they're infested with mange or not eating properly it'd look clumpy. IIRC, wolves in the wi...
