Re: Happiness Thread

I am happy 'cause my finals for this semester are in. My papers are all in and it's over. Plus,I have one more semester and then (hopefully) onto Graduate school. Tomorrow I finish the application process too! And I get to spend a week in Corpus Christi, Texas next month; drinking copious amounts of...

Re: Most wanted list for environmental fugitives

One of my friends works for the EPA (and, yes, he's a big guru in the EPA on NEPA, NHPA and a lot of other alpha bet soup acts and policies - he's not a janitor). I suppose I need to force him to come up with a line in order to curse out Captain Planet now; villan style... In all seriousness, there ...

Re: For The Philosophers Out There...

I'm not a philosopher but reality is a construct of the human mentality and suffers the context of a culture and society, along with an individual's perspective of what is real or reality. This means that all things - intangible and tangible, ethereal and corporeal , are the same in the distinction ...

Basically all you have said is... nothing, Indy. And I say that sincerely. Health is a human construct. I don't really care about it - as an anthropologist it's quite funny to see the variety and understand how arbitrary it is to believe in different types of health. In the end, I like eating things...

That's one predator that Humans can't be accused of killing off-directly. As I recall, they rivaled the Kodiak bear for size and strength, and the Wolverine for attitude. That was quite awhile ago, though... Literally twice the size of a Kodiak and probably an attitude to match their size. Ho...

See... I dislike the idea of self transformation entirely. Somehow it seems that contorting myself would be unpleasant - hence I am human in mentality and construct (but as an anthropologist well aware of its founding, thanks much). If I had to find something it'd probably be the extinct Short-Faced...

Ah well, I'm in love with American whatnots! And heavily into the theatre of war in North Africa - since it's vast and barren world made it a great stage by which war was played out. If not just the perfect place to hold the world's ultimate cluster-f*ck. The real reason is I am looking up a lot of ...

I am terrified of socialized Health Insurance because, after being in Canada, I know why it is not superior. Many Canadian's I talked to on my drive from Alaska back to New York, envied our hospitals and capitalizing world since, well, money means progress. There is no drive for health care advances...

Hehe... When I saw them in the magazine the first thing I noted was:

"They are so cute we MUST eat them!"

And then, of course, I saw the price tag.

About 10 bucks for three of them!

No vegetarianism or vegan here.

The rest of them is used for fertilizer and in some cases (usually in other countries) they are utilized for food (often canine species and felines). Even so, not something I can place my support in. At least there is no waste. I am under the suspicion P&T made that comment in regards of the eq...

Well, if you're aware of that fact you should be able to understand the medium ground that is more reasonable - which is P&T's point. I will always be harsh on cruelty, (which most people are) however, unless I do not eat meat I cannot say anything against those who hunt for food . No one wants...

But now, I guess I've gotten wiser in my old age and as it happens, the vast majority of the country feels the same way. I still don't want to see horsemeat on the black market but as far as I'm concerned, the .5% of Americans who want to indulge can bloody well fly over to France and leave our mus...
