Re: Would you Willingly turn someone?

I think part of the issue with this disscusion is the fact that eachof us views 'lycanthropy' differently. Some view it as a curse, some view it as the best thing since Pennicillin (I know I spelled that wrong)... I honestly see it... hmmm... neutral, I guess you could say. For me you could compare ...

Re: Would you Willingly turn someone?

Wow, can't believe I never posted on this one... Well, based off my werewolves, I'd have to say: It depends. Using some of the characters that exist in my verse. Joan, a very strong and healthy woman died during the transmission and turning process due to injuries received Abe refused to try to turn...

Re: What problems would being a werewolf cause?

IE die of fright. It was one of the things we talked about back when I was in 4H (for rabbits). If we had a cage outside to make sure it was under some kind of cover. If the rabbit was flighty enough it could just die of fright when a hawk or eagle shadow flew over it. Generally speaking most rabbi...

Re: What problems would being a werewolf cause?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was reading through the forum and spotted this one and wanted to throw in my two cents, maybe see if anyone else has thought of anything to add, and as far as I know the forum rule is still 'add to existing thread rather than make a new one'.... If I am incorr...

Well... this is interesting

Seems like I've missed quite a bit while I was moving up north. *glances through everything again* Hurrrrrrrrr, seems discussions got interesting on occasion. Hmmm, I hope this will not offend anyone/everyone, but while I was moving I found myself rather bored with nothing to do when we stopped for ...

Well, after a VERY long absence... Here I am with a new computer, from a new state and in a new house (well... rental, the house isn't built yet) I'm sorry for disappearing with no warning, but the transfer to the job up here went through faster then anticipated... Far faster, the old house isn't so...

Well, there could be several types of 'shelters'. I think you'd likely see a large amount of the 'wilderness' types out in the rockies. Dense woods, 'hidden' valleys, caves that can be quite extensive, open areas and the like. But that sort of shelter strikes me as a place for WWs to go and relax......

Well, I think that slang would probably pop up no matter what, but I don't think it would run as rampant as many authors of horror think;) I mean, look at the general american culture. 'Slang' usually does not show up in 'sub-cultures' but in culture as a whole, and once it shows up, it either dies ...

Oh yes, it is... but not as often as one (and movies) would think;) Wolves have an INCREADIBLE range of smell, and they don't usually range too far away from each other;)

Thank you for your praise! :D And, actually, no, male canines are larger and stronger then females. It isn't as extreme as, say, lions, but there is a differance. My family breed shelties for several years (we were some of the breeders that helped decrease the skin cancer problems!! :D ) Anyway, mal...

Well, the problem with that is, if there's a big enough corp. to pay for hunter group(s) why haven't they got enough evidence to bring it to the publics eye? As mentioned before 'people' is a huge panicy animal and it'd be easy to get a large amount of support. Especialy if you happened to have a li...

Hmmmm.

I definitly agree ont eh male female, with males being slightly more dominate. Male wolves and humans are larger and stronger then females, after all. Would the alpha and beta pair be mates, or could they just be the ones in charge, possibly mated to other WWs? As for the omega... well that one woul...

To head off possible arguments...

Okay, for starters. I agree with Terastas on all points... Secondly, maybe it's because of the work I've done at schools, and the headache or two that results... but I'm going to head off a possible argument here;) 'Random person ranting about 'why are the men hunters' Okay, the main reason is not b...

I guess...

Maybe it's just because that, as an author... I hate the idea of 'perfection', as there is no such thing as perfect in the real world. Thus I dislike the idea that WW are 'perfect' in any of their three forms and would like some weaknesses to exist. Even if they evolved as generalists (canines and h...

Well, the primary reason a human would feel odd howling is because we're sentient, and humans 'don't howl'. Well, in a way we do, via singing. We may not sing WELL, but vocal singing exists in all human cultures, and there are usually simular points in every form of it. Wolves howl for many reasons....

Question What type of society would they HAVE? Would it be like humans in general, which evolvoed as more or less, patriartical? Male dominate? Or would it be like wolf society, which has a male and FEMALE alpha and male and female betas? A 'equal' type, both about the same build/strength? Also, who...

On the subject of softer sides...

While I most definitly agree that, yes, there's no reason for WW to show the softer side more then the average human/wolf... I'm just going to point out that I've yet to see a movie that shows anything but the 'SNARLING SAVAGE BEAST THAT KNOWS NOTHING BUT DEATH AND PAIN BLLAAAAHAHAHA!' :D Hence, sho...

Well... here's a possible...

It could simply be that WWs are more dense then true wolves or true humans... ... No, not that type of dense;) What I mean is, the bones, muscles, tendens and such of WWs could be denser then a human/wolf's. Granted, this is applying OLD marvel comic logic... but at least back when I was young they ...

Um, guys?

Cats in the wild 'play' with their food too. Often tormenting it for quite a while before killing it. Any predator with a reasonably big brain hunts becasue they enjoy it.
