Re: Further Confusion 2011

Well, Further Confusion 2011 has come and gone. Lots of canids in the Fursuit Parade. Lots of fun at the con. In 2012 Further Confusion will be held in the San Jose Convention Center. Two hotels are directly connected to the convention center, The Hilton and the Marriott.

Interesting prospect for June in ABC's "The Gates"

Though information is scanty, there is enough to reveal that this private community includes more than just vampires, but also other bump in the night folks like werewolves among its residents: "Meet Brett (played by Colton Haynes). He’s a dichotomy of the “jock’ because he’s not only linebacke...

Re: Initiation Ceremony - The bite: How would it go? (detailed)

Hmmm Humans are social animals Wolves are incredibly more so. The lone wolf is the exception and the rarity. I would not be surprised if wolves hang together a lot and socialize muchly. Thusly while formal meetings, a human thing, can be scheduled, the opportunities for werewolves to network outside...

Well, Scott, consider the similarities that do exist between Wolf Society and Human. Both are pack animals, I would submit.

Re: Initiation Ceremony - The bite: How would it go? (detailed)

Actually if it was done out of an emergency necessity when nothing formal could be done, then I would not be at all surprised if something more familial or formal in a loose sense would be done later to make the event of the new membership in the pack recognized as special. Maybe a small welcoming c...

Re: Initiation Ceremony - The bite: How would it go? (detailed)

Wolves and humans have so much in common. Most especially how social and about family they are. Meld human and wolf and do you think these disappear ? Even without formal rituals, we are inclined to small social rituals, celebrations and memorials. I think it is a natural thing to celebrate the adop...

Wolf Society

Organizatin of Wolf Society However, notwithstanding improved understanding of real wolves in the wild, that does not truly bind or constrain what might result from the hybridization that a werewolf in many respects represents. The society created by such a melding of cultures and inclinations migh...

L. David Mech a pre-eminent and world recognized expert on wolf behaviour has in recent years, together with other wolf experts learned a lot about wolves and pack behavior that goes against conventionally accepted wisdom. Among them that the individual generally referred to in wolf packs as the Om...

I have noted the repeated mention of helplessness during 'the change'. This does in fact make sense. Now, let us consider, wolves are very social. And being so there are social interdependencies and levels of trust that are incorporated into the individuals as members of a pack. Their personality is...

See... I dislike the idea of self transformation entirely. Somehow it seems that contorting myself would be unpleasant - hence I am human in mentality and construct (but as an anthropologist well aware of its founding, thanks much). If I had to find something it'd probably be the extinct Short-Face...

What about pity and sympathy. A shape changer as sentient as any of us who does NOT have the capability which presumably most of hits kind have, would be, in many respects pitiful. Now, as specified, STUCK means stuck in an obviously non-human or partly human looking state and yet being in the firm ...

Sometimes during films, folks heading out are making emergency runs to the watercloset.

Did you see folks coming in while the film was running ?

Some of those may have been returnees.

I am gonna own a copy of 'There Will Be Blood". Watched it and loved it. Also saw "No Country For Old Men", and that is a good film also. Now I am rather a fan of the Coen Brothers, but frankly, despite what the Academy decided, I think 'There Will Be Blood' is actually the better fil...

In essence, that is an effort to shut out other less prominent and less validated artists in favour of the more established ones when space is limited. The argument for this being that...

Well speaking of DNA coding and designer class persons I have a question:

Does anyone here think that the same world in which geneticists might create an uber class, would not also at some point create a teeming class of beings to serve as an exploitable underclass ?

In nature, humans seldom grow tails, and yet, for some, the proof is in the seeing. There are persons with small tails, with the striated muscle and nervous wiring that they can move said tail. Perhaps most of us here have seen the video clip of it in action. Human Tail Video The greater odds of hav...
