Re: Integrated Chat Tech Demo

It's been well over 10 years since I last checked this place, back then we were putting ideas for a werewolf movie but I doubt it sees the light of day. I'm amazed this place still exists. Oh yes, I make very sure to preserve things as best as possible. The internet has slowly become very amn...

Re: Feedback on Forum Guidelines

As for built-in rating/tags, I had the idea of adding custom BBCode codes relating to content rating. Perhaps like surrounding a section with [mature] and [/mature], or similarly just [rating=mature] (Mature Content) [/rating], which would then automatically hide or show, based upon user preferences...

Feedback on Forum Guidelines

Given that the current forum guidelines are about a decade old, especially as some of the vocabulary feels a little dated, and that there's some oddities and probably some things missing, I figure it's about time to redo some of it. Nonetheless, are there any recommended changes anyone has? Also, ar...

Re: Are any of you still using this thing

I guess I haven't completely killed it yet, having had fixed some encoding issues with older posts in the database (which has lingered for probably +6 years), which inadvertently cleared the 'New posts' listing (which probably explains a drop in motivation of people writing new posts) for having to ...

Re: Integrated Chat Tech Demo

Since there was mentions of some difficulty with the software used for the webchat, I've found and integrated a different option, which can be accessed at: https://thepack.network/thepackboard/chat2.php (I've updated the link for the "The Pack WebChat" link on the forum board listing page)...

Integrated Chat Tech Demo

There's a whooooole slew of many improvements to come for this community, and one of them is a webchat that'll be integrated with the forum interface and authentication. If you'd like to see a very crude and uncustomized preview of the web-based client, you can see a demo of it that I threw on a ran...

Re: A shadow of what we once were

I've generally been feeling as if the inactivity is also part of my fault for lack of doing any sort of improvement with the forum, given that it's back to a stock theme, and I haven't completed any work of a new, modern werewolfy theme (thus it's not a very engaging experience). I've tried contacti...

Execute Plan B: Domain Change

As you may have noticed, the website has been inaccessible yet again , due to domain expiration. I hold no ownership nor control over the domain, as a previous admin still holds it, and the registration of the domain has lapsed probably each year for the past 3 years or so, if I'm not mistaken. I've...

Re: Forum Restructuring; Adult Content Policy

There is functionality present currently to report a post, perhaps additional options may have to be added (e.g. 'creepy/disturbing comment'), as I think the stock ones only cover standard things (spam, trolling, malware, etc). As for the posting guidelines, yes, they'll need to be significantly rev...

Re: The Pack's Den back on the air.

Sorry for the disruption, but I can assure you that The Pack's Den shall never die. Even if it's ever officially "dead", I'd still be sure to at least have it available for archival reasons, because I hate the idea of things officially disappearing off the internet, for the sake of looking...

Site Direction

Occasionally I keep bringing up the idea of significantly revamping the website, but am unclear of what direction to take it. As it is, I would really love to have a central werewolf community again, but I'm not sure if people are allergic to forums now or something. It feels as if most of the 'were...

Re: Is Pack Chat dead?

In the meantime, you can just directly connect to the current IP address, 66.228.42.59

Apparently the DNS isn't up-to-date, and I'll pester someone to get that resolved.

Re: Is Pack Chat dead?

The domain you are presumably connecting by (irc.paradice.net) has expired and probably won't be renewed.

You can use irc.thepack.network, which shall always point to the correct server.

Gwarrraglable!

GrrGrah. GRWAR! I keep neglecting this forum, and keep feeling like crap about it. I just keep having memories of "the good ol' days" of it back in it's prime time. But I've also certainly by no means have lost any interest in the werewolf "fandom" (or whichever word is most app...

Re: Excuse the Mess

The complaint was of the broken theme, and technically anyone could have switched to the default themes (such as the current active one). But instead I've just gone ahead and made one of the pre-installed as the chosen theme for all users. This is only temporary until I have a new design to replace ...

Excuse the Mess

Doing some significant forum upgrades and have converted the theme to a newer format (as required). As a result, the forum/topic indicator images are missing, and there's some line break issues. This is only temporary. This is a precursor to some significant upcoming changes, including a newer theme...

Re: Okay people how do we get these forums back up to speed?

I would drop in my $.02 and say that the idea of creating a separate URL (thepack.network/forums) or whatever it's going to be, might not be a great idea as it could throw off people who have bookmarked the site and assume that the the site is down if they're not aware that we've locked the old sit...

Re: Chat Zone

I don't think the question should necessarily be of timezone; instead, it should be regarding times (expressed in UTC-0/GMT, or something) that are appropriate for people to get on IRC, which could work with having multiple votes.

Re: Okay people how do we get these forums back up to speed?

As of redoing the forum as I've described, it would take trivial time, so don't worry about labor. The procedure would be as follows: I set this forum to read-only and lock people out of logging in I create another forum installation at another location (for example, thepack.network/forum/) I create...
