Re: Finding the Truth
What I'm getting is the red flag of conspiracy theories. They often work on an argument from ignorance and more importantly, unfalsifiability. If I say, 'where is the evidence modern medicine is bogus?' the conspiracist can say 'they are hiding it otherwise they wouldn't get away with it'. One good ...

Re: James Cameron's Avatar
I think the real sucess of Avatar is the fact that as far as i know , it is unique. There's not much about this film that anyone can find familiar Not to be finnicky, but there was Fern Gully, Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas...oh, and Call Me Joe Not to detract from the magic of approriation, but ju...

Re: Finding the Truth
Do not listen to the establishment and the people in power, listen to yourself As much as I can empathize with this sentiment, there is little use for absolutes. The most potent tool is critical thinking, and the ability to go on and evaluate claims and arguments made by any source. In the matter o...

Re: James Cameron's Avatar
I wonder if it had only made $200 million and faded into relative obscurity if people would still lash out against it. This is quite likely a sizeable factor, for two reasons. If a movie isn't succesful, it isn't talked about, so it's never brought up to be praised or critized. Second, when a medio...

Re: What makes a werewolf an interesting werewolf
I think an interesting werewolf character challenges an audience with a dual duality; internal conflict between the impetus of one side and the other, concordance between one side and the other, and second order evaluations of both of those things Not really. I really don't see how Bloodmoon is any ...

Re: James Cameron's Avatar
Can't really say much positive about it. Aside from 1 or 2 good performances (not Sam Worthington, who I preferred in gangland Melbourne Macbeth having a foursome with the weird sisters) and effective visuals, character, plot and theme where underwhelming, derivative and predictable. I can't say the...

It's no gourmet whirlwind but I sometimes throw it together when there isn't much in the pantry.
Rice, croutons, cranberries and a savoury souce to taste, like soy sauce.

Re: Gaming Industry Unfair to Werewolves ?
Hmm, I have cursory knowledge of the first two. I could program crudely in pascal and .net, was starting to learn prolog, and am pretty fluent in the (mostly useless and specialised) Inform As for modelling, I got pretty into Maya. But that was, hell, nine years ago, with a licensed version of Maya ...

Re: Gaming Industry Unfair to Werewolves ?
I don't understand what you mean by extra work, Aki. You give the various departments their jobs and they'll do it, just like they would any other roster of models and characters. There was this fighter, Bloody Roar, where all of the characters had an animal alternate form. I know what you mean that...

Re: Gaming Industry Unfair to Werewolves ?
There've been plenty of games featuring werewolves and werewolves characters, including a few popular ones as have been mentioned. Hell, I just lost my werewolf in DII to iron maiden in the chaos sanctury. It's just a bit niche, so it hasn't been mined for all it's potential as a few of you have sug...

To be honest all my buzz word receptors are firing on all cylinders. Beast warrior viking werewolf, holy hell. The only problem with having such a great title is doing it justice.

Re: Writers: Be honest here. . .
I don't have a single 'project' (because I never get around to finishing anything) but yes, one piece of writing I did was an intentional representation of myself. I think, among the many aspects of writing, one of them is highly egocentric, about self-exploration and self-expression.

I feel like such an incredible geek/stickler but the same thing can be said about any exclusive belief that becomes populist I thought populist was 'a believer in the rights, wisdom, or virtues of the common people'. Re: What is the meaning of Life and the purpose of Life
The meaning of life is to live but to live with aout a meaning then what is the point in living........ Quite simply there is none at all. It's easy to confuse function or impetus with purpose or meaning. However, a typical response may be 'so why not kill yourself?'. However, you must ask the ques...

well you get those in all games. I really wonder how you can make an uber-flawless self insert character whilst playing a dead guy though.

I'm going to have to say that's a fair good call also, about the nature of in-group mentality. It's pretty homogenous in construct, just different in content and values.

Re: Werewolf - The Apocalypse, revisited
Hell yeah man. It's 'the forsaken' now and I've run a campaign last year but not much other than that. Reworked the fluff as well. But it was in fact, good times, I was reminded heartily of it all going through such titles as 'rage across Australia'.

Re: Ladies and Gentlemen: We have found the Missing Link.
Do you feel so uncomfortable with your own nature that you have to comment negatively about that of others? There's a not-so-subtle difference between disagreeing with someone and taking an obviously cheap and nasty pot-shot at whom it is they choose to be. No? That was a joke, my boy, it's a shame...
