Re: Bitten
I'm afraid I lost interest and stopped watching about the 7th episode. It's un- Freeborn -like in a very critical aspect: the characters weren't that interesting. If you ignored that they were werewolves, they were not particularly memorable. I had the same problem with Defiance , a show about diffe...

Re: Bitten
It took until Episode 3 before it really got into motion. But, it's worth hanging in there, as you need the background story build-up. Conceptually, it's the closest thing yet to anything like Freeborn . Werewolves are lead characters and supporting characters, and the "good and evil" bit ...

Re: control in WW form
Different interpretations, but... You've got a great point, in that someone coming into it for the first time would conceivably have a lot of human perception bias, and would thus try to relate to things from a human perspective, especially if he or she is actively trying to resist being changed. An...

Re: Having a Drink – A Werewolf Short
Sorry; I've been away from the boards for awhile, while I deal with mundane realm annoyances. Anyway, I got back just in time.
Brilliant premise. The trailer didn't delve very much into the story very much; I'm eager to see the whole thing!

Re: control in WW form
That seems to be the general consensus--that you do not specifically lose your free will or sense of self, and no "alternate personality" takes over. But, the dramatic change in perception and sensory input overwhelms the mind, and the human subconscious and set of instincts are replaced o...

Re: About all these medical test scenarios...
Yes; they'll send trained first-responders to any location there is a medical 9-1-1 call (in the U.S., but likely similar rules in most developed countries with emergency service networks). If a call is so vague and ambiguous that the dispatcher cannot tell what is going on, the police will be sent ...

We fell short again, though I do understand that Freeborn once again has official investors looking at it. Still, let's keep our ears raised for other opportunities to help out.

Funding ended over a month ago, and unfortunately it didn't even come close. Still, anything come of it? I do still feel the project is worth doing, and I still want a copy even if it has to be a rough set of unmixed acoustic tracks.

Drugs to control fever, like acetomenophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen, will not cause hypothermia. And, we have nothing that specifically lowers amylase and lipase. We lower those by treating pancreatitis. If we treat for pancreatitis and you don't have it, then we're basically giving you lots of IV fl...

Whoa... breathe, everybody. The Pack has always been a place for civil discussion. Part of the beauty of this place is that we don't devolve into flame wars. (Please don't ask for a definition of "Furry"!) Yes, ethics is very much about opinion, but that by definition makes it open, not cl...

Welcome to The Pack! The original wolf smiley was by noted therian artist Christie "Goldenwolf" Grandjean. We kind of went crazy afterwards, coming up with different expressions, situations, and character personas afterwards. Figarou was by far the most prolific designer of spin-off design...

I'm impressed with your choices of best movies; you went with a lot of the classics rather than some of this newfangled CGI stuff.

Re: Um, hello
Welcome to The Pack! We're glad to have some fresh faces. I have no idea why it's been so slow here for the past few months, given that we began life as a focus group for the movie Freeborn, which after so many years of stalls and delays is now in production instead as a series.

Because, let's not forget the cardinal rule of Hollywood and anything associated with them: if you only frak up one thing, make sure it's the werewolf.
Even the Harry Potter series followed this rule. Hippogryphs, dragons, amazing wizard battles... and the werewolf looks like a malnourished rat.

Oh, yeah... wishing on a monkey's paw to become a werewolf... what could possibly go wrong?!? I wouldn't touch the thing, or if I accidentally already had, I'd put it down very carefully, being careful not to say anything or even think about anything. Oops; I just thought of the Stay Puft Marshmello...

Re: How Would Animals Evolve To Be Like Us?
Evolution is very slow and time-consuming, on the order of millions of years to get from smarter-than-average mammal to human-like cognition. Note also that it takes specific kinds of evolutionary pressure to make human-like intelligence happen. Other forms of evolutionary pressure will yield differ...

I fear that too many people watching the news are trying to be armchair tacticians, strongly emotionally espousing their opinions about what to do as if they knew more than a panel of seasoned high-ranking Generals and Admirals with decades of military experience. That said, I'll chime in anyway. I ...

It's now a series rather than a movie, and the pilot episode is in production. No idea what network it'll be on, or if it'll be online instead. As an independent production, it's got a smaller budget than we had originally hoped. If you want info on Freeborn , you're in the right place. The Pack beg...
