Re: Werewolf marathon!

You just answered your own question. Van Hellsing is focussed on the main-character's fight against Dracula, not on him being a werewolf. Huh? Where did you hear me say that his fight with Dracula was the 'SOLE' focus? You did notice the part where I mentioned that in addition to that, he was bitte...

Re: Werewolf marathon!

I have to agree with Morkulv, though possibly not for the same reason, Van Helsing at it's core is a movie about the struggle of humanity versus the supernatural. As far as the little goblin that is my memory tells me, it doesn't explore the why or how of either werewolves or vampires. Van Helsing ...

Re: Werewolf marathon!

AWIL is very much a werewolf-movie. It focusses on a character that gets bitten by a werewolf, and his transformation into a werewolf. But yet, you don't consider Van Helsing a werewolf/vampire movie even though it focuses on a character that gets bitten by a werewolf, becomes a werewolf, and then ...

Re: Werewolf marathon!

The title alone "Howling II my sister is a werewolf" should have been my first clue as to how bad this movie was going to be. I could only take about 15 mins of it.

Re: Werewolf marathon!

I wouldn't call Dog Soldiers a werewolf-movie for the same reason that I wouldn't call Van Hellsing a vampire/werewolf-movie. Just because they have those particular monsters, doesn't mean that the focuss is on them. Calling Van Helsing a vampire/werewolf movie would be totally appropriate since th...

Re: Werewolf marathon!

When I think about Dog Soldiers, I never think of it as a werewolf-movie but as a horrormovie that features werewolves. Aren't you really just using semantics here? A movie that features (very prominently) werewolves as the antagonist 'IS' for all intents and purposes "a Werewolf-movie". ...

Re: Werewolf marathon!

Heh heh I'm currently in the midst of trying to decide between getting DirectTv or Dish Network... although I'm starting to lean more towards Dish Network. Their program package includes the Chiller ch. But unfortunately for me, I won't be able to get everything set up until sometime midweek. I just...

I don't doubt it. And guess who's gonna be one of those who's responsible for it selling out.

This thing would look so awesome sitting on the shelf next to my Gangris Riverpaw. 8)

Toy Gods...please allow this thing to be made!!!

I've had my hopes dashed so many times in the past with other werewolf figures being canceled, that I'm almost a little hesitant to get too excited about this. Anyways, the 7th series of Warcraft figures (due out in Oct) is supposed to include a Worgen figure. http://toyfair2010.figures.com/data/572...

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

My guess is because they're seeing the returns on the movie and have recognized that this means a lot of people are out there thinking for themselves as a result of it. They felt the urge to weigh in on The DaVinci Code and Harry Potter as well. In the case of the former, the response from the auth...

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

Putting aside all of the film's political undertones for a moment, this was simply a great great great movie! I can't think of the last time I've felt this way about a movie after leaving the theater. I'm already jonesing for the sequel. According to James Cameron there's going to be 2 more films. H...

Take all the Twilight fans to see Avatar . Put them through Cool Movie Boot Camp! Ditto! Avatar kicks major a**. It's this generation's Star Wars. I've already seen it twice, and I'll probably see it a few more times. I'm already looking forward to the sequel, cause you just know that one's coming....

Not necessarily so. You know that Great White sharks exist. But if you actually encountered one, you'd probably s*** your pants, or in this case, swim trunks.

Was anybody else here also distracted by Stewart's incredibly bad acting? For someone who was supposedly so torn up by Edward leaving her, you noticed that she didn't shed one tear? I don't know why, but this really made me take notice. I wasn't expecting an Oscar level performance, but C'MON!...

It seems like I'm in the minority here, but I want to see this movie, and I'm a GUY! I'm not seeing it because of the corny romance aspect, but because I like werewolves and vampires. Granted, the ones in the movie aren't (IMO) the ideal representation of the two species, but right now, what else is...

Re: WTF was that thing...???

Concept art from Cirque Du Freak by Aaron Sims of the Wolf Man. His concept art generally is better than what's presented in the movies. For some reason, that concept art vaguely reminds me of an Underworld Lycan. Now had the Wolfman looked like that in the movie, that would've been friggin awesome...

If one tries to film a decent-looking werewolf in a movie for Hollywood, Higgs bosons bombard the footage as it is being filmed. I think you may be on to something there. I think there's also a curse (no pun intended) that's hanging over werewolf toys. They either get cancelled, or they get b...

I think the original working name for this creature was "Polarilla". It was supposed to be a cross between a polar bear and a gorilla. What made the producers think of this combination I'll never know. :?

The upcoming Star Trek line from Playmates is gonna include a creature called a Drakoulias. While not actually a werewolf, it definitely has a werewolfish look. I know I'm definitely getting it when it comes out. http://img.trekmovie.com/images/merchandise/playmates/61620_drakoulias_Fall09.jp...

Re: Fleas! (A question)

You can drown them by placing a big bowl of sudsy water in the middle of a dark room with a lamp over it. The water has to be sudsy. Otherwise, they would be able to jump right back out. Fleas are so light their bodies can't even break the surface tension of regular water.
