Re: What problems would being a werewolf cause?

Because there is a drive to hunt, small ‘prey’ pets like rabbits and rats may REALLY freak out if you go near them or handle them’. IE die of fright. It was one of the things we talked about back when I was in 4H (for rabbits). If we had a cage outside to make sure it was under some kind of cover. ...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

Side note: Dr. Who season 2 episode 3 I think had a very nice "natural" looking werewolf, it's tail was short (more like an extended coccyx) but it at least looked less monsterous then what I've seen. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IeoCDtDWgMk/TM10gfLeSRI/AAAAAAAAApk/Zk0AbUSnzdU/s1600/Moon+Were...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

First of all, thank you, I appreciate the clarification. :) the hostility i was referencing was in Serrina's post that she felt the monstrous design is a mockery of werewolves and there are other posts that reflect a dislike of the monstrous werewolf. I don't think it's so much as a dislike of the m...

Re: What have you always wanted to see in a transformation s

I prefer a more biologically sound approach, one that implies that the body can do this repreatedly, as opposed to ripping up the human form and getting rid of it, as cathartic as such might feel. The first shift should be rougher, and I can even see bleeding in places. The one shifting should have...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

i would like to say that beauty is subjective and it seems like there is a sense of hostility towards the monstrous werewolf. Honestly I haven't seen the hostility. If it were so hostile there'd be more "pretty" werewolves and less monstrous ones. Since that isn't the case, why is even th...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

I don't see how people think werewolves are just non-stop, howling, snarling, raging, 'mindless' beasts that just run around killing everything in sight and don't give a damn. Yes, the wolf instincts may over-take the human side of weak-minded people, but still!! Wolves are not that reckless! I wis...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

It's just like what I'd like to call the "Grue principle": Monsters who roar, make silly thumping sounds with their feet, and smash people to ground meat pieces like enraged giant babies on a carnivorous high are scary enough, but what about the same kind of monsters who are practically n...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

One thing that occurred to me with the underworld lycans specifically, is how versatile that look is. It's got elements common to all large mammalian predators, yet is just human/monstrous enough to avoid specificity. In some shots it's wolf-like, in others bear-like, and catlike alot of the time. ...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

^.^ I think that a part of my issues is that we so often judge by what's on the outside. That we make outwardly monstrous things so that we can physically /see/ the monster. Movie monsters in particular are often shown very fugly just to get across to the viewer just how much of a monster they are.....

The more the merrier, I say! Hey, AB, if you crowd source this work, and allow us to use it for our professiobnal portfolios, you might get some good and less expensive labor.

See "wreck a movie" for ideas on that.

Re: Speech?

It's in part the shape of the brain as well as it's folds that make up the person. I know that the more folds it has the more information is stored, the smoother the brain the less information is stored. There is also a research project going on that says the human brain's shape (thus how it's wired...

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

Go form a calm, wolf-face expression to a fierce snarl in a split second, and I bet few people would have clean pants. ;) I've seen folks run from a friendly dog, let alone a massive canine that growls a little. A six foot tall (or so) wolf-like creature that suddenly turns it's hungry gaze on you.....

Re: Clothes

I think a part of it is based on the mental capacity of the werewolf. Most flicks don't have their werewolves as able to be anything other then a frothing monster. Few that have shown intelligence (self awareness) of a level to care, are either so enraged, or so engrossed in what they are doing they...
