Re: Don't see New Moon. I beg you...

I can't imagine what someone that (claims to) likes both Jane Austin and Stephanie Meyer is like. . . Though I suspect it might once again be someone that hasn't read anything at all. Maybe Stephanie Meyer is the outlet for her mid-life crisis or something, like she used to claim to love Jane Austi...

Re: Don't see New Moon. I beg you...

Sigh... The Twilight series is one of the banes of my existence, if only because my own mother became almost as much a fan of it as she is of Jane Austen books. I could tell you the plot of pretty much any of the Jane Austen books, in excruciating detail, without having read them. That level of over...

Re: Venting

The usage of JFK....I find mildly offensive...mainly for the blatant political usage of it. If that was what Terastas was furious about, I am with him on that to a degree. The message there, though, hardly makes me angry, I'm no advocate for high taxes... I feel people have the right to keep the maj...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!

*dusts off old thread* Due to various circumstances, this project went stagnant some months back. It, however, didn't die completely....so it's about time to bump this thread back up. SO...Vagrant did some research, got a better script together, we bounced it back and forth a few times, and have som...

@Terastas: Are you running multiple spyware/antivirus programs? Or are you running multiple *different types* of security programs? If you're running multiple antivirus or spyware programs simultaneously, this doesn't always make your computer safer....in fact, depending on how these programs work a...

Re: Server downtime

I personally would love to see this forum expand beyond what it currently is, and moving to a new host could help gain momentum with that. However, I am very, very much against what having a "benefactors only" section of the forum would mean. Right now the only real division between groups...

Re: Venting

So yeah, I now have multiple people refusing to acknowledge my existence for reasons I can't be 100% sure of. Last week I may have caused this by coming across as slightly harsh when I was voicing my opinion on recent things that had been going on...said things involving my frustrations on people no...

Re: Depression thread

well, today I received some depressing news.... one of my cats, one that I have had since before I was in kindergarden, has cancer. Originally they thought it was a small benign growth on his gums....but it's not. Apparently its nasty cancer, to the degree where they didn't bother taking a biopsy or...

Re: Beginning of the dull society?

This is ABSOLUTELY the wrong way to go about it, I kid you not. Sure, some other countries might do it...but I've seen foreign students at the school I go to. Some are genuinely interesting people. Others are far, far too driven by test scores and competition alone rather than the pure joy of actual...

I agree, to be perfectly honest I see no good reason for Macs to be required if you can run the same software (Photoshop CS4) on your laptop, unless at some point there is going to be a hardware compatibility issue.....which is more likely to happen on a Mac, unless the hardware in question is an Ap...

Re: avatar problems

iirc this happens if you try to upload a PNG, it has done this every time for my avatars when in PNG format.

If you host it on an external service, like Imageshack and such, then link directly to the image, it shouldn't throw the error.

Shadow, once the technology is refined enough, the cost/convenience thing with turning trash into energy is beyond argument. Think about it....you plop the trash in a landfill....where it's still trash and is wasting space and thus wasting money. Or, you put an initial investment into said devices t...

Re: A disgusting environmental disaster

I agree that this is quite disgusting... but I see the whole "the world would be better off without us" as a rather counterproductive attitude. You see, we ARE here, we have *been* here, and nothing we do will change that. If we never existed, there would be nobody around to even contempla...

Then I wonder why to this day there are still so many asylums, institutes, and many mental care programs all over the world... Sure, people vary, but everyone has their limits. There's over 6 billion people in the world, the percentage in said institutions is small enough that the general populous ...

Re: What to do with a human who knows too much?

I have but one thing to suggest here:

Tranquilizer darts loaded with LSD.

THAT way, they ARE hallucinating, and thus anything they saw cannot be taken seriously.

This is probably a good approach for removing credibility in many other situations where you do not want viable witnesses.
