If they had anything like taxidermy a few thousand years ago, perhaps they managed to wrap a human foot in bearhide, with some technique that modern taxidermists don't have of hiding the stitches. This would explain a bearish exterior with human-like bones inside. Another possibility is that it is a...

Werewolf Tourism

Somehow, this article just reminds me of the typical plot structure found in episodes of Scooby-Doo:
Werewolves a tourist attraction in Brazil
It also makes me wonder how many tourist dollars werewolf sightings really generate.

Werewolfish foot

The picture attached to this article, touted as a yeti foot, actually looks pretty werewolfy to me. The moment I saw it, I began getting ideas about using it as a model for drawing better werewolf art.

Here's one of my term papers

I've also written one paper for a college class on the topic of shapeshifter folklore. Since it is relatively short, I've included it entirely in the body of this post. The title was "A New Spin on Zulu Mythology" and I got a perfect score on it: I chose the topic of cultural syncretism. T...

I've always been a bit baffled by the pain that is so popular in books and movies. What causes pain, normally? When cells are damaged, they send pain signals to the nerves, or sometimes when the nerves themselves are damaged, it REALLY hurts. So, if werewolf transformations were painful, this would ...

Kitties!!!

These are two of the best links I have ever found for cat photos: http://www.fluffytails.ca/christmas.asp http://www.themoggy.com/olympics.htm The second one, with the sleeping photos, reminds me of the type of werewolves that I would like to see in movies- very flexible in ways that humans just can...

Shapeshifter Emporium

I just wanted to mention that I have a website that sells werewolf and shapeshifter stuff, called Shapeshifter Emporium. It has lots of novels, movies, nonfiction and other items, including many recent ones such as "Derik's Bane".

For folklore references, one of the better books I've found recently is "True Werewolves of History" by Donald F. Glut. It contains many stories that you'll have seen before if you have read the important four older werewolf folklore books (Hamel, Summers, Baring-Gould and O'Donnell), but ...

Page on the Beast

One of the reasons why there is a lot of confusion and contradictory information on the Beast is because there was a lot of confusion and contradictory information while it was happening. Also, the fact that the body disappeared has made it so that all scientists investigating the problem have littl...

Have you heard about the legend of Skinwalker Ranch? I've got a bit about it on my website, which is an excerpt from an upcoming folklore book. See http://www.jh-author.com/prewolf2.htm . This is just one of the urban legends I have been researching for incorporation into that book. I've also found ...
