Re: Best job for a werewolf?

Just thought of another one that applies to many of my characters- unskilled laborers. If you happen to be relatively uneducated but are much stronger than the average human it would probably be a very easy and simple job to keep. Might also be a good way to lay low if you are trying to hide for som...

Re: Celebrity Werewolves

I have no idea, maybe some actors who play really creepy villains in movies? Jack Nicholson in The Shining was looking pretty werewolf-y toward the end, or so it seemed to me. :P I can just imagine what Ryan Seacrest would look like as a werewolf! Don’t even get me started on Shaun Ellis. I wo...

Re: Emotional Healing

Maybe becoming a werewolf would intensify the existing emotions of a person? Someone who is naturally detached emotionally might become more so, and someone who is very emotionally responsive to things might develop exaggerated emotions. Maybe it might be tied to their shift cycle, if they are influ...

Re: Werewolfs Music

Maybe some of them would like Sontata Arctica (I looked them up and apparently they are a metal band). Lots of wolf songs from them. Perhaps a werewolf would have a better chance of understanding the lyrics in stuff like that, I always have to look them up because I can never pick out the words thro...

Re: Emotional Healing

I suppose it would be possible. If the change into a werewolf were to make the person think more like an animal, become more survival oriented and not as emotional as a human, it might alter the way they perceive their lives and respond to things. This wouldn’t be so much a healing ability from emot...

Do You Ever Dream About Werewolves?

I finally thought up a second topic for discussion! I think this is the right board for this, though sometimes these things can be tricky to decide. Do werewolves ever appear in your dreams? If so, how? Are you one of them? Are they frightening and nightmarish, or fun and positive experiences? I lov...

Re: On the Man Eater Issue

Interesting idea. I’ve done a lot of reading about maneaters (mostly big cats, but wolves have turned up occasionally as well), and I think that would fit pretty well with the kinds that have limited to no memory of their human identity. Big cats often start killing when a random encounter with a hu...

Re: Underlying Reasons to be a Werewolf Fan

I voted 4. My interest in werewolves came from my obsession with mythology. Even before I saw them in movies I was reading the old stories about them. Usually they starred as either diabolical villains who discovered how to shapeshift and used it to terrorize the community, or tragic cursed figures....

My interest is pretty much full blast all the time. :D I think about my werewolf characters every day to entertain myself, so it is on my mind every day. Plus I usually watch any werewolf movies that come on TV.

Re: Cure

On the werewolf side of things- it would depend on what kind of transformations they have. If they are the savage variety that is always bloodthirsty and dangerous when forced to transform than most would probably want a cure, unless they like the power it give them and enjoy the killing. If they ha...

Re: Your Version Meeting Other Versions?

Hoards of zombies sound like they would be scarier than werewolves in most cases. I’ve often wondered what kind of stories you could tell if you mixed werewolves with other monsters like that. I watched 30 Days of Night yesterday, and the idea popped into my mind that it would have been interesting ...

Re: Bears versus Wolves in history and mythology

Hmm, that is something to think about. I agree that I’ve seen the bear paired up with the “noble warrior” or “protective mother” themes in the old stories more often than the wolf, which is more likely to have an element of evil to it. I have heard, much like vrikasatma mentioned, that people view b...

Re: Werewolf hunters.

I’m a big chicken, so my option would probably be “Run away!” On the other hand, the better idea might just be to lay low until the hunter goes away. Unless he has somehow identified you personally as his target and is coming at you with everything he’s got you could just wait until he gets fr...

Yeah, Goldenwolf’s art has always been very inspirational. Very good at giving you an idea of how the anatomy would work when switching a quadrupedal animal into bipedal form. :)

Re: Initiation Ceremony - The bite: How would it go? (detailed)

I’ve never imagined any kind of communal ceremony for mine to go thorough. They generally discourage the idea of biting and don’t go looking for humans to bring into the pack. If they ever have a need to bite a human because that human has found out about them (a rare occurrence, since they often pr...

Re: Your Version Meeting Other Versions?

My world has a similar scenario. There are two kinds of werewolves: those who kept their human sentience after they transformed, and those who turned into roving, bloodthirsty monsters. The "good" were-animals are just as frightened of the monsters as the humans are; even though the raven...

Re: Werewolves and collars. should it happen?

I think it would depend on your size once you changed. This reminds me of a cool story I read once in a book of Transylvanian folktales. A man had a dog that wore a spike collar and it got killed by a werewolf. The man decided to wear it for some reason (weird, I know!), and then he got bitten. When...
