Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
Hmm. This reminds me of an old topic I created here about 'light magic', which basically explains self-hypnosis to become more and more wolf-like in spirit and mind. But I wouldn't suggest toying with something as fragile as the human mind. The process you're describing seems to be geared towards a...

Re: The perfect reason to hate javascript
Well, on that note....all I can say is, SOMEBODY will find a way to do devious things with new Javascript capabilities Tak just mentioned.

Re: The perfect reason to hate javascript
Yeeah....Javascript is evil. I have seen some downright devious ones used before...much, much worse than the Rick-Roll. I have a friend who does web design and is very much into making these things on the side for his own sadistic entertainment. As such I never click links from him, I make sure he o...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
@MattSullivan: Yes... though that's not quite what I would choose to describe it. @MattSullivan's Ugh: I'm sorry this caused you distress. @MattSullivan's Facepalm: It's all in good fun. Worse things HAVE been done with hypnosis. Much, much worse. Much, much, much, much worse. Things that would much...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
I've been told I have a good voice. XD Example here: http://malignant-librarian.deviantart.com/art/Voice-Meme-123294601 Can't record at this exact moment in time, the people upstairs are being really noisy and my mic is super-sensitive. xD EDIT: Yeah, it's like I thought, way too much background no...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
@Gev: yeah, though if it helps, the draft could have section dividers of some sort inserted....so you can record each chunk individually. It would likely be 2-3 chunks, The intro/induction, the main section, and the end bit after the silence. If Vagrant appears online I'll poke him about this too, s...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
Excellent job, Gevaudan. For a first read you've already got much, much better dictation than the guy who did the original file. One thing I'd change though is to slow down a little bit, as some parts, while very well read, did seem a bit rushed. This seemed to interfere slightly with the induction,...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
I really wouldn't worry about it, wingman. I also wouldn't shoot down the entire thing before its off the ground. This is a voluntary project. Nobody is involved that doesn't want to be. For one, the script is there to see, nothing is hidden. It's purposefully benign in nature, makes particular stre...

Re: We need a voice for an ongoing Pack experiment!
While it's true that sub par microphone recordings can be digitally repaired....I will point out that it is still kind of nice to have a decent audio quality. Especially for the audiophiles out there who tweak out when they can distinctly hear all the small errors....like me :cafinated: Being annoye...

yeah, though if you ask me, among guys, long hair seems to be becoming a bit more widespread again nowadays. As for the greasy hair appearance....I have yet to have this problem honestly. I have sweating, hydration, and skin oil production issues....namely I don't produce enough of the right kinds o...

Re: Hair
My hair was usually always quite short (around 1-2 inches) up until a couple years ago, when I just didn't get it cut for a summer.... what had instigated that lack-of-haircut was the fact that during my previous haircut, I managed to destroy the buzzer about halfway through the haircut....which was...

Re: Moderator Problems
I have to say it, I think having a watchdog group would make things worse.... why? The idea for this watchdog group is because of a perceived problem with our existing group of Admins and Moderators. The mess that happened over the last week amounts to, put simply, a "political mess". Howe...

Furthermore, there should be something against posting PM's in a public forum. The obvious exception being when the sender has given permission, or other instances when the PM is malicious....but even then it's iffy, since this can be dealt with by forwarding via ANOTHER PM to a mod/admin. So a case...

Re: PLAGUE! Wash those hands people
I ain't worried, myself. First it was the Bird Flu that was gonna kill us. It didn't go anywhere. I imagine this'll be the same. This map is particularly enlightening . Notice how all the deaths are in Mexico. Gee, I wonder why. It couldn't be that Mexico's not exactly the first place that springs ...

I'm truly insulted that you're pulling the friend card on this one, Sabre. Seriously....regardless of how I became aware of what happened...from the way it looks and the evidence provided, I see the actions taken perfectly justifiable. You should have made prior note of what you were doing, and you ...

Re: Venting
Sorry to hear about this, but I might as well throw in my own two cents. I agree with RedEye and Terastas, especially on a couple points: Yes, you've been at the Pack forums longer than many people here and many involved in what's been going on. That does not automatically make you incapable of doin...

Re: Awesome physics project--electromagnetic levitator
Well, we were considering using a second, smaller variable resistor for exactly that purpose, but the ECE department at my school was fresh out of them. We did eventually get one, but the project had been dismantled by that time. I have yet to reassemble the circuit on my own breadboard.

Is it that hard to see that the media favored Obama? The media DID do a lot of naysaying about him as well, perhaps about his suspected Muslim background, his drug habits from his younger days, or his elbow-rubbing with the anarchist Ayers, but even through all that, somehow Obama could take a sh*t...

Re: January 20, 2009
No, I'm not going to turn it off. That's telling me to be ignorant of something rather than complain about it when I see problems, which, tbh, is rather hypocritical. I HAVE watched the TV, and it's for that very reason that I'm calling the media on this....so yes, I have the right to complain. It'...

Yes fear us. Now the USSA is born. Better red than dead AHAHAHAAHAHAHA. Hey, don't rag it if it works. We already tried the Corporate Bordello of America; it didn't work out as I recall. Obama can carve the face of Lenin into Mt. Rushmore for all I care, as least as long as he can clean up the mess...
