I couldn't answer the poll, because it all depends on how one defines "real werewolves". I shall be most surprised if anyone actually ever documents the physical body of an H. sapiens shifting completely into the physical body of a C. lupus. At least not until something like nanotechnology...

It also depends on just how literal you want to be. Physically changing into an animal to the degree that (like the hero in American Werewolf in London) you could wake up in the wolf enclosure at your local zoo on the morning after the full moon? There are recorded spells from, if I recall correctly...
