Rejected!

This is a little something that I first stumbled across in a video room, deep in the bowels of Dragon*Con.

For mature audiences, for graphic stick figure content

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

Why should a werewolf be beautiful? I could just as arbitrarily ask why one should be ugly. The notion of beauty tends to stem from functionality. Natural beauty comes from organisms that are healthy--symmetrical, physically fit, and able-bodied. Ugliness tends to pair with impairment. Morbid obesit...

Re: Greatest Guitar Solos

Thanks for making my quotes a signature tag, Morkulv! Of guitar solos over the years, I'd still have to give it to Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page for "Dazed and Confused," the full length movie version from The Song Remains the Same . Led Zeppelin took a six or seven minute song and stretched i...

Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta

It's practically in my back yard! And I'm stuck at work the whole day, two hours away! Argh! My wife Cathey plans to go, and hopefully she'll get pictures. There's always next year, and maybe we can even make a Pack event of it.

Re: A beautiful werewolf?

Something can be monstrous and scary, but beautiful at the same time. See my previous post about H.R. Giger's design for the xenomorph in Alien . Real wolves are beautiful but scary; an anatomically plausible human/wolf Gestalt-form amalgamation of the two would be even more so because of human psyc...

Re: About all these medical test scenarios...

I just had this image of a physician ordering blood labwork to screen for lycanthropy; a few minutes later, a panic-stricken, dishevelled lab tech with torn and tattered scrubs runs out, slamming the door behind him. "Lycanthropy screen was positive!"

Re: A scientifical way to explain how werewolves shift?

It's kind of a given that, if we're going with a science-based shifting method (as opposed to a Magical Mystery one), hormones and biochemical messengers will be involved in the process--and probably more than one. It's how the body does a lot of more mundane things, like fight-or-flight versus rest...

Re: Werewolf Classification (A special Name?)

I can picture someone thinking the word but having a hard time saying it--especially the newly bitten. But, I agree--most people would use the word if facing someone who can turn into a wolf.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. That, and getting us all killed by a global Dowth blood campaign violates the user agreement.

Ditto on NOT emulating Facebook. I'd gladly sacrifice functions like poking and tagging in favor of something that my friends and family can get on and know how to use on the same day.

Re: They're canines not felines

Both quite true. Horror films want to scare people, and sharp claws are scarier than dull claws. Having things lurk in shadows is also cheap, because you don't have to work as hard at making them look good. If we can get werewolves into more genre diversity or get more horror filmmakers to embrace o...

Re: Werewolf Simulation

Interesting idea. I'm not sure how you would simulate having your brain squeezed into a third it's regular space while having your skin turned inside out, but that aside, it sounds like a fun program. If the character passes by mirrors, one can certainly see the changed features. Here in the real wo...
