Re: What I'd like to see (lore and werewolves)

Personally I do like it when science can get in and carry the story in place of lore, and vice verse, either can work for me, but as Terastas said of lore being fudged, pseudo scientific werewolves can get frightfully cringe making . The Meeper. This is where it would help if most writers and direc...

Re: What I'd like to see (lore and werewolves)

Meh. Sort of. A lot of werewolf movies claim to be based on lore, but then proceed to take a crap-ton of "creative liberties" with it. Me personally, my fascination's always been with the difference between fantasy and reality. I'd like to see a movie (or TV show, or comic book, or whateve...

Re: What kind of were-creature would you like to be?

There are relatively few animals I would dread to be a were of, like farm animals But if you were a were-bull that would be like a minotaur, which could be awesome. Except that the constant barrage of beef-related puns you'd be subjected to would drive you insane within an hour. A were-chair. Yes, ...

Terastas nice post, but in my point of view human friend who knows your secret is far more valuable becouse you were human once and he can help you with finding place among other humans while werewolf pack would try too distance you to a certian point from humans and i am not sure that most newbies...

Re: Lone wolf

what if hes bitten and left behind because the one who bitten him doesnt care about him or he doesnt want too be in pack. Yeesh. If that isn't motivation for a vendetta, I don't know what is. Why would that make the lone-wolf dangerous, though? Why would he be any more likely to go nuts and start k...

Re: Prehistoric Werewolves

...but first sighting of werewolf was 1591. What about Petronius' account of werewolves during the Roman era? Supposedly his was the first to establish a connection between werewolves and the cycle of the moon. I believe that even earlier in classical Greece, Herodotus also wrote an account that in...

Re: Prehistoric Werewolves

Probably not much different from the prehistoric humans: Semi-nomadic hunter gatherers with strong communal ties who trade with some tribes and are hostile with others. And even if they were shunned by civilization, with so much else of the planet still uninhabited, all they'd have to do is relocate.

These people are so devoted to hating Obama that they can't even be consistent wi...

Re: What will you do...?

well if you dont freeze you could strangle him if hes in full wolf form by pushing it too the ground or you can grab a rock or something and hit him while you are holding him down, but you will probably be bitten in process and injured for sure Two points: 1) If a werewolf is so pathetic that a guy...

Re: Powers in Human Form

You could just as well argue, by that logic, that a werewolf shouldn't have heightened reflexes and/or smell in their wolf form either. What I would argue would be that the senses would be (for lack of a better word) dulled in human form, but that the brain would eventually get reprogrammed to bette...

i would replace teen wolf with AWIL others are fine AWIL was their #1. That said, even though I wasn't a fan of half the movies on this list. . . Crap, I don't know what would take their place. The takeaway from their Top 10 is something we've known since The Pack began: We're lacking in good werew...

Re: Speech?

The benefit of sign language would be that it would solve the problem at both ends: The werewolves would have the benefit of knowing that they're "pronouncing" it correctly, and the humans wouldn't need to worry about being heard differently. Yes, it sounds like it would be a pain in the t...

I would even say that it would be hard(not impossible) for them to understand human language in their wolfform, since their ears would also change during the transformation. My dog comes running whenever I utter certain words, for instance "squirrel" (I'm not even remotely kidding here), ...

Re: Lone wolf

Part of the problem is that, like I said in the serial killer thread, the only generally accepted way to become a werewolf is to get infected by another werewolf. Ergo, a werewolf couldn't just be lone by default -- there would have to be something that drove him to it. Which, no matter how you slic...

Re: Werewolf serial killers

1. Track down a werewolf that is clearly willing and able to kill you (even being a werewolf oneself would, I would think, still not be enough to make the task less frightening or daunting). and 2. Actually kill said werewolf in cold blood (a psychological issue unless these guys are regularly runn...

Re: Werewolf serial killers

Survivors would complicate things, yes, but for the killer even more than the pack in my opinion. First thing I'd assume is that, since every werewolf obtained their lycanthropy from another werewolf, the pack probably has the process of breaking the bad news and/or recruiting newcomers down to a sc...

Re: Werewolf serial killers

Three things worth considering: 1) They might not be super-soldiers, but neither is the serial killer. This isn't like asking whether the Being Human werewolves would stand a chance against the Underworld werewolves. It's two werewolves cut from the same cloth; exact same strengths and weaknesses, w...

There isn't going to be a funeral for precisely that reason. They claim it's because they "don't worship the dead" or whatever, but I think we all know the truth. On a related note. . . I hope this is something like how it went: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3syEnmTb7Jk/UzAEXn4JSmI/AAAAAAAABSs...
