Re: Gamer Contraband (Games Banned in this and other countries)
Has anyone ever heard of Michael Atkninson ? This is the guy who makes buying any game more mature than Psychonauts nearly impossible in Australia. He is probably one of the most hated people by gamers in the world (of those who know about him) and Yahtzee Croshaw probably hates him with a fiery pas...

Re: Theory of Knowledge (Questionnaire)
A lot of emphasis had been placed on subjectivity and personal generation of morals/ethical guidelines. So are most here subjectivists who take on various derivatives of cultural relativism? Do you take these to be valid? Oooh, good question. I'd be happy to discuss that. Also, I corrected 'guidlin...

What you say makes a lot of sense, and I will agree with you. I don't have a counter-argument for you. Sorry :P I may have misunderstood your answer a little bit... I think you were saying that the decision should be made by whoever the decision affects? Please correct me if I am wrong. Alright, le...

Re: Theory of Knowledge (Questionnaire)
Actually, this is a thread where invoking Nazism makes sense. Spongy, I'd like to direct you to the 'practical terms' part of my answer. In practical terms, the difference between right and wrong is decided by those who can enforce this perspective the most. If your little brother tells you that ste...

Gonna go for an image as well: http://z.about.com/d/politicalhumor/1/0/j/z/1/obama_superman_awesome.jpg My mother burst into tears when he broke 270. Re: Joe The Plumber Is A Joke
The media didn't put a microphone in this guy's face until McCain mentioned his name twenty times during the next debate. And was that his fault? Specific people have been called up as poster boys for political stereotypes before, but most of the time the group pushing the idea decides to leave it ...

Re: Theory of Knowledge (Questionnaire)
Ahh, intellectualism. I love delving into the meaning of ideas, and finding the holes in popular thought. Here goes: 1. To live a happy life is to live in the moment. The immediate, the here and now, is the simplest of all existences that can be understood and felt, and therefore is the easiest to i...

Apparently (correct me if I'm wrong, people), Anthony ran out of money/forgot to pay the guys who rent him server space for the site.

Re: Joe The Plumber Is A Joke
My thoughts on the matter: Samuel Wurzelbacher is a victim (or beneficiary, if you look at it that way) of circumstance. He asked Obama the original 'buy my business=more taxes' question in a fleeting encounter. He probably thought it was a good 'gotcha' to hit the senator with, given that he was in...

Re: The worst people on-line
The people I hate most online are those who outright cheat. I don't mean those who employ tactics or somesuch I can't or don't understand- that's being cheap , and while annoying, it's okay for me. What I'm talking about is cheating in the traditional sense-going outside of the game's intended rules...

Heh heh...be careful with anything made by Popcap. You may start at 2:00 and leave your house later to find the authorities have declared you legally dead (props to Yahtzee Croshaw for that joke). Seriously though, Popcap is probably one of the best casual gaming makers out there. I've played Peggle...

Re: Werewolves in videogams, what do you prefer?
The best way to deconstruct a stereotype (especially that of a monster) is to put the player in the shoes of the stereotype and have him break it just by walking around. Plus, it would be something that's never been done before. I've seen werewolves as NPC's in RPG's, as mobs in action games, as pla...

Iron Maiden: Dance of Death There are more things in Heaven and Earth, than are dreamt of in your philosophy... Let me tell you a story to chill the bones About a thing that I saw One night wandering in the everglades I'd one drink but no more I was rambling, enjoying the bright moonlight Gazing up...
