Re: Depression thread

I feel....mildly depressed right now. I'm sure most of the people here can top this, but I also feel it needs to be vented somewhere . I started up a thread on the General tab about the election and less than 12 hours later it got locked. Serves me right for talking about politics...I've done this b...

Well...there you have it. It's official now; Barack Obama is president of the US. I've checked around, and there are celebrations all over the world going on for the inauguration. I personally, feel like some massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It's probably a natural high from the gra...

It's natural peanut butter and therefore has no coagulants to prevent the transfats from separating and floating to the top like a peanutty water (true fact...if you do have organic peanut butter). Re: The Philosophical Werewolf: A Guide

I'm afraid i can't say I've read all those books, but I did see Never Cry Wolf ...a looong time ago. However, I still have something to say here. I've always been fascinated by the use of magical metaphor to describe the human condition (Stanislaw Lem often spoke of human self reflection as a motive...

Well, alright then. Hehe...they say 75% of all statistics are wrong, including this one.

Either way, it still seems that most of us pack members are liberal, and while I don't mind that, It'd be nice to see some conservatives show their views...you know, just to round us out.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-2.50&soc=-3.08 I'm noticing that a lot of the people on this blog are liberally-minded. I'm not surprised by that; those that use the 'net tend to be young, and us young'ns tend to be liberal these days (at least in America; not sure a...

Re: Watchmen

Dear lord, they had better get Rorshach right. The thing I loved the most about the Watchmen was how it broke down the concept of the superhero and blurred the line between 'defender of the people' and 'costumed nutjob'. Rorshach epitomized this, to the point where he genuinely is a criminal, but st...

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiggghtt.....anyway... I think that the 'baseline' isn't what your natural form is, but rather what you STARTED as before you were infected/changed/cursed (pick your back story). My wolves feel most at home when, surprise, they look almost indistinguishable from a normal wolf, but that d...

Re: Klaatu Barada Totally Nikto!

Keanu Reeves...ehh. The guy does action films pretty well, but he seems shallow and stiff in his acting. One of the things that made the original Klaatu memorable was his duality: the aloofness of a being foreign to our world combined with the calm, direct curiosity of a scientist, with just a hint ...

Re: Werewolf and Kungfu

I'd like to offer my opinion on why a werewolf would want to learn martial arts before I discuss the abilities of one that does have the skills. I've got a few, and most of them are the same reasons that humans would want to learn martial arts: 1. Discipline . Being a werewolf is about walking a tig...

My understanding is that he's the Australian equivalent of Jack Thompson.
Not exactly; he's a senator in the Aussie govt. Imagine Jack Thompson (or 'Wacko Jacko', as some of my friends call him), not disbarred, with legislative power. Scary.

Re: Theory of Knowledge (Questionnaire)

I suppose you are right in the fact that a completely non-partisan, objective observation by a human is inherently impossible. This is probably because our senses inherently place emphasis on certain things we perceive over others (the eye, for example, is attracted to bright colors over dark ones),...

I wish for a steak dinner. Your 'wish' is my command, effendi. (in keeping with the whole 'djinn' vibe) You are granted a 72 oz. richly spiced, sauced, juicy kilobe beef steak. It is so ridiculously large and good that after eating it, you lose interest in all other foods...but the steak is one of ...
