Re: Texas Republicans trying to make being gay illegal
To clarify... Hands Uniform Two Six some really expensive glasses... Now can you see clearly? :P On gays/lesbians and Soddom and Gomorrah... You often hear Christians state that God destroyed Soddom and Gomorrah for the sin of homosexuality... You get a lot of really hateful people using this as &qu...

Re: Texas Republicans trying to make being gay illegal
Wow... a lot has been said in my absence... now I'll have to catch up... :D As touching Communism... Karl Marx created Communism as the idealist government for a Utopian society. Everybody in such a society works together for the better on their fellow brother and sister, and thus the entire nation ...

Re: Texas Republicans trying to make being gay illegal
Don't take this the wrong way, Terastas, but you're from Massachusetts. I generally imagine that Democrats in Texas are kind of similar to the way Republicans are in Massachusetts. For the most part, they tend to keep their mouths shut and their opinions to themselves, but we wouldn't have been stu...

Re: Texas Republicans trying to make being gay illegal
I didn't really see anything about "punishing people for BEING gay", as much as trying to thrawlt pro-gay propogunda. Granted I have a severe migraine I could have missed something. The BIG issue I have with this is the fact that it shouldn't be our government deciding what your moral stan...

Re: The current generation of werewolf fans.
I really, really don't see the issue. They're just doing what the young do - hell, like the doc said. Just finding a group to identify with and establish a self-identity. It's all dumb fun. No need to really look into it any further than that. So it is normal, appropriate behavior for people to cut...

No, but it does make up a "Nietschze-wannabe" cynical sub-minority of therianthropy. Also, obligatory "what exactly is "traditional"? I damn hope it's not "endemic to native america only, with every ethnicity right down to the Ainu people being dressed up with Sioux ou...

Re: The current generation of werewolf fans.
I find it interestingly reassuring, that maybe therianthropy is an integral part of the human subconscious and not merely a fringe notion. Granted, some might be there simply to get a sense of belonging--but some of it looks pretty heart-felt. To those of you who must mock it, why are you hanging o...

Re: IS thepack slowly fading away?
If blue cat-people on a moon can have a top-notch movie, then so can werewolves! While this may be true in the broad sense; Avatar dealt with a new species that had no history behind it. Werewolves, very regrettably, have whole libraries of history behind them, and that is going to make the sale of...

Re: Are werewolves ruining YOUR creativity?
We may have discussed if we're ruining werewolves, but are werewolves ruining you ? I'm aware that some of us do "our own thing" when it comes to werewolves, be it innovation, deconstruction, dark parody, twist, antithesis, or self-entertainment. To me, this is absolutely natural, as natu...

Reign of Fire, even though the film was a monumental let down, had vicious dragons in it. Personally I still love, Vermithrax Pejorative, the legendary beastie from "Dragon Slayer".

Re: Regarding 'Freeborn'
The thing that everyone here has to realize, is that movies take TIME to get made, and I'm not just talking about production. Scripts can take years to get sold. Avatar itself, was scripted originally in the mid 90's, but got floored because the tech just wasn't there. So in truth, it literally took...

Re: Respect towards atheists
The reality is, no matter what people say, "Atheism" is, at its core, a religious point of view. Atheism can be traced all the way back to 6th century BCE Humanists movement. Humanists, so you know, were a group of Greek philosiphers, of whom rejected any notion of the divine, and believed...

I was born muslim and intend to stay a muslim by choice of identity. That way, when, for example, I'm friends with a jewish person, the both of us would make a good contrasting pair. Besides, where have you seen a male muslim be so despaired by how other muslim males treat their women, LGBTs, etc. ...
