Re: Transmission and Turning process
I like the idea of a bite or scratch transmitting lycanthropy, along with the classic Hollywood tropes of waiting anxiously for the full moon, slowly gaining more wolf-like characteristics and foibles of personality until the fated moment of transformation. The transformation itself should be diffic...

Re: Regarding 'Freeborn'
What happened between then and now? When did everybody suddenly start acting like six-year-olds with weak bladders and Anthony's the one holding up the bathroom? Actually, nothing happened. Anthony's been in the bathroom for 6 years, so I wouldn't call our bladders weak. Anyway, I'm fine with the f...

Re: Regarding 'Freeborn'
Now celebrating the almost 1-year anniversary of this thread without a peep from Anthony! But I'm sure Freeborn is right around the corner! Sarcasm aside, Anthony Brownrigg gives us news about Freeborn maybe once a year, and it's always the same thing. Where once this board was full of his most avid...

Re: For those who play World of Warcraft
I just now created a new Worgen character to experience the starting area. Incredibly late, I know. Needless to say, I think that any werewolf fan would get an absolute blast out of this experience. The storyline is top notch and the atmosphere is fantastic. There's something for everyone here: goth...

Re: Going where no Therians would dare go before...
As for Furaffinity while I morally don't agree with a lot of the "art" there, the reality is it would be constitutionally wrong to force them to block all content, that isn't "suitable" to MY standards per say. This is where Freedom of Speech comes into play. Once we start deemi...

Re: For those who play World of Warcraft
Wow, what a gross misrepresentation of the in-game model. Of course it looks like crap on a white screen, no lightning, zoomed all the way in, probably low texture settings, with the worst possible frame they could choose. This is what they look like in-game (barring customization): http://img600.im...

Re: For those who play World of Warcraft
Reminder: World of Warcraft Cataclysm comes out December 7th.
It will include the ability to be a werewolf, and to subsequently ride a dragon into battle. A werewolf on a dragon. Contemplate that awesomeness for a minute.

Ok this post isn't about Worgen, but here is the title music for Cataclysm. Definitely cinema quality work. Epic, epic, epic, worth listening to the whole thing.

Re: Guild Wars 2
Oh, that's what you meant. Yeah, it's a little backwards of Blizzard to deny storyline closure to everyone but a top percentage of players. However, the thing that made me quit Guild Wars in 2005 and play WoW was the fact that once you got to level 20 (which took two weeks,) that was it, there was n...

Re: Guild Wars 2
I've been playing Guild Wars a lot, and GW2 looks great. But the lack of grind? Oh no, there'll be grinding... GW1 has tons of grinding. Want to get the title for vanquishing every zone? Get ready to invest a few dozen hours, especially if you're a newbie who doesn't have super powered NPCs. Want to...

I know how you feel. I let fans of things get to me too. Heavy metal has been ruined for me because of the nerds who are into it now, for example.Morkulv wrote:I despise everything WoW ever since I lived together with two liveless nerds who did nothing in their lives other then playing WoW all day long.

On the contrary, I'm probably one of this forum's biggest proponents of werewolf concepts outside of traditional mythology: http://thepack.network/thepackboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7992 I'm sure "The Night Battles" by Carlos Ginzburg and "Werewolves and Vampires in Romania" by...

Re: What to do with those who claim to be Werewolves
I also realize that some people don't care about the history - they just want to enjoy a movie - but at least one person responded positively. Are you saying absolutely that no one here is interested in the history behind the myth. Why in sanity's name would you include everything there is to consi...

Re: What to do with those who claim to be Werewolves
Arguments about "historical therians" are moot, because this isn't a therian forum; the werewolf creature we talk about here bears no resemblance to the therian construct that you represent. As a result, anyone who comes on here and claims to be a werewolf is going to be assumed to be a ro...

Re: What should a werewolf be?
The simple fact of the matter is that option 2 essentially requires the subject to grow whole new body parts using existing mass, without magical supplimentation. A thin person whom is very fit, really doesn't have much excess mass to draw from though, so that'd mean that muscle mass, existing bone...

Heh I posted about this movie over 2 years ago when it was announced. Definitely a "B" movie, and since I never got around to renting Over The Hedge, Open Season, Madagascar, or The Wild, this one will probably elude me as well. (Yes, I know the only similarity between those movies is anim...

Re: Could a werewolf family be sophisticated?
Vampires are portrayed as aristocratic because they're immortal. That's always been the key point: if you have centuries to accumulate wealth, knowledge, and power, you're going to be in the upper echelons of society. A werewolf is not usually immortal. Also, werewolves have a secret that usually pr...
