sounds like the 'venting' thread would've been a better outlet. Anyhow, you get those types. Especially online.

Re: Ladies and Gentlemen: We have found the Missing Link.
But nobody has demonstrated eyes and brains evolving from mud or organic soup in front of observers and cameras You know what a strawman is, right? As for the old 'irreducible complexity' of eyes, the information, and documentation of different species with different stages that appear to lead to t...

Argh! A discordian, oh dear.I'm beginning to feel like a chaos magician
this is a sure abuse of the term. I prefer to think of it as being at ease with peoples freedom of belief, separate from validity.whilst realising the validity of every other.

I said 99% of Twilight fans are like that That's a pretty comprehensive survey you must have done. It's easy to generalize about a whole from a sample, especially when they are extremely dour, comical and irritating but I've seen the stangest people read that book. The most unlikely was probably a ...

Re: Emotional Healing
Interesting, because in general it was purely portrayed as a physical regenrerative ability. However, for me, the emotional aspect is better as a damaged part, the internal conflict between the savage and the civil, a tortured, strained mind, which deals with grief and emotional trauma in ways that ...

Yes, typically with these quasi-sandbox games I can't help but make a character for each major path. Can't tell you how many times I played Arcanum. And Gann was a great character, and the dream sequences...all very well done.

This game had one of the most solid engines I've seen for a PCRPG, the same one as the KOTOR's, which were both also good. I thoroughly enjoyed it, played through the original with a friend and had a tonne of fun. I mean sure, I prefer real time collision detection (like oblivion or dungeon lords) b...

Beserker, you bring me back to my 1st year grammar course. Damn I'm glad that's over. I'm surprised you didn't throw in 'middle voice', 'subjunctive' or 'determiner' in there. (This is a veiled compliment). As for too much text, there is no impetus to read something you are not interested in, so not...

Re: FERALS Unisystem for Witchcraft Rpg
I saw this RPG and thought, 'it looks generic, but stylish', so I was thinking about checking it out. And I've never played that zombie one, but I've heard about it. How is this 'unisystem' you speak of?

Haha, I'm suprised at the long-hair/short hair ratio. Usually I'm the odd one out. I got buzzcuts up until I was, oh, maybe 15, and then thought 'you know what? I'll try something different'. Since then I have only gotten slight trims, so it's down passed my shoulders now. I certainly look more in p...

Re: World of Darkness: Changing Breeds
I read it, and must say white wolf maintain a pretty good calibre of fluff writers and presentation. Loved the raven shapeshifters. But I don't feel I'd use any of the templates they introduced in the game of werewolf, I didn't like the feel. Maybe in a game of hunter though. I suppose that's succes...

Quite liked the first one, I'll definately look out for this one. Though sequels hardly live up to the caliber of the original.

Re: Games that deserve a rating and a reason
Guild Wars was indeed a great action rpg and looked great too. And a numerical rating system, while not absolute, is far from useless. It helps to have a rough concensus or value judgement, especially if you are considering a purchase.

I enjoyed this game, haven't played it for a while so can't remember the status's. Demolition was easily my lowest. Hitting the weak spots on vehicles required too much patience for me.

I can't say much, I didn't get too far into G3 before I thought I should go back and finish 1 and 2 first (I heard they were better also) I did notice G3 had a novel structure for it's world in the organization and effect of factions. Beyond that, the combat was about as enjoyable to pick up as gett...

Remember; Sanity is a nebulous thing at best. Society is always sane, no matter what. While I tend to advise avoiding absolutist statements, you have an underlying point their that clinical diagnosis follows. Of course, 'insanity' is not a diagnosis but any mental illness must be having an impact o...

Hah, you think juggling combos have balance issues in SC? You should see tekken. Though yeah, SCII was probably the most solid title, though even that had a bit of balancing issues, poor Astaroth.

yeah I know what each person is getting at and to explicitly answer the topics question, it is generally not too strict. I simply find it a shame the a topic would ever fall by the wayside as a result of a persons moment of immaturity, or oversensitive response to criticism or even uneccesary critic...

Re: Is this board too strict?
Does anybody else think thread locking is too harsh? Or is it just me? Harsh isn't the word, it is done with good intentions, but I do think it is somewhat big brother. People are who they are, often it can be quite illuminating to see what people will turn into when provoked, and silencing them is...
