Shamandantis

Lemme tell you a little story. Once there were a tribe of shamans called the Neuri. Each one a Shaman. They moved in and out of the shadow worlds at will. They were also great healers - not only of illness but of famine (because they understood nature), and of misfortune (because they could feel the...

I can't even imagine it....but if nothing else, it simply doesn't fit history. You're talking about a late medieval origin of Werewolves. Werewolves existed (conceptually) 500 years before the birth of Christ. As a theory, ergot doesn't fit anything at all. At best, it's manufacture out of thin air....

My point is that, whether it kills or not, an ergot poinsoned individual doesn't look anything like a Werewolf and, although there's a distant chance that some ignorant peasant might have seen an insane egot poisoned person from a distance at night and mistook them for a Werewolf (but why?!), it's a...

Franly, I'm a very utilitarian person and don't think uch about cosmetics. The reason I would like carnasials.......just think of what I could do to a steak.....

The ergot theory, as popular as it is, doesn't make much sense. Fact is, the lethal dose and the "therapeutic dose" of ergot is so similar that it would be extremely rare for a person to survive to report hallucinations - certainly not enough people to be described as "mass hallucinat...

Communication is a important thing. I seem to be fairly typical in my discovery of the Therian community. I realized that I was a Werewolf early in life (and different from fellow Humans even earlier) but I didn't understand that there were others like me out there. I knew that my family has a lycan...

A shoveltooth incisor is concave on the rear surface and has a slight medial ridge. If you scrape your fingernal up the back, it will click. It's very much lie a spade shaped shovel.

It's not a strongly held opinion of mine but I find some things pretty provocative about it. The latest Neanderthal findings coincide geographically with the earliest Werewolf reports (north of the Back Sea). And Modern Therians seem to have a high frequency of a tooth form (shovel tooth) common onl...

Actually, there was a Christopher in the North African contingency of the Roman legions and he was martyred in the 5th Century. He was most likely from Syria (which is where he was martyred). I suspect that he didn't have a dog's head and the legend about him carying Christ across a river is probabl...

Comparable to the "I'm a male in a female's body" (or vice versa) there are also people who will tell you that they are nonhuman animals in a human body. These people function quite well in everyday life so they can't be accurately said to be "crazy". And there are quite a few wa...

Awful. I know that the average "officianado" thinks that this represents Werewolf lore throughout the ages but, in fact, it only represents the anti-Were bias shown by authors like Summers. Take for instance the two points that the writer said were common to ancient Werewolf lore. Actually...

There are cohesive groups of Therians who have well defined leaders and the thing I notice about them is that they avoid referring to themslves as leaders. The way things seem to work in RL Therianism (or the parts I have personal involvement with and that's pretty wide since I'm an advocate for the...

First my RL situation. Most of the people that know me in Selma know that I consider myself a Werewolf and I'm accepted and respected. That's Selma, in most other communities, I don't think I would be so open. My family accepts it pretty well (I won't go into the one exception - that one's a bit of ...

I'm not particularly obsessed with Werewolves. I don't talk about them much in RL (even with other Werewolves). I put up Werewolf themes on my office computer during the week before the big Howls. I have an office full of stuffed wolves and wolf statues - but that's because my colleagues keep giving...

CSI tends to be pretty respectful of fringe cultures. I try to catch anything that's going to be widely broadcast about Werewolves. There's a huge difference between fictional Werewolves and Wolf Therians but the first thing that pops into a nonTherian's mind when they hear about us is the fictional...
