Re: On the Man Eater Issue

I suppose it's possible... honestly though... they might actually remember: That humans do have fire arms Which may or may not be all that affective if the werewolf has regen or damage resistance. Even so the werewolf might remember that humans tend the panic easily and that may affect their aiming...

Re: Underlying Reasons to be a Werewolf Fan

What interests me is the psychology of the predator, and the interaction with the human element. As someone who used to do a lot of hunting (when I say used to I mean I haven’t been on a hunt in about a year), the idea of hunting something that can hunt me back is intriguing and provocative, so the ...

On the Man Eater Issue

Pardon me if this post seems a bit scatterbrained, I’m in a bit of a rush. I was thinking of the nature of the werewolf as a "monster", a man eating brute of a thing that this forum is seeking to shy away from and it brought me back to an old sub plot from a story idea I was thinking of. W...

Re: Werewolf hunters.

Killing them is easier said then done, I'm afraid, even if they aren't prepared, we must asume that they're packing heat, silvery, stinging heat. While we all like the idea of a werewolf going "lol, stupid human with your stupid guns" and then twisting the hunter's shotgun into a pretzel, ...

Bloody Red... I think you mistake what I meant. To me, the question asked "What problems would being a Werewolf cause... as in apart from being a Standard Issue Human. Really, my Werewolves do have problems, and lots of them. Anyone who has read any of the "Wulfen" series knows I lov...

Re: Why more males than females?

Portrayal doesn't have much to do with reality though. We may be dealing with fiction here, but having a werewolf in the story doesn't mean the characters in the story need conform to stereotypes because that's how they're typically portrayed because that's silly and it's a portrayal that's really ...

Re: Why more males than females?

I don't see how that makes any sort of sense, really. Being male doesn't afford you more "HP" life is not an RPG. A male frame has less in the way of the arms (lack of boobs) and the ability to build muscle better, but that's about it - there's nothing about it that lets either sex better...

Re: Why more males than females?

Well I think it's safe to assume that in most novels and movies a bite is the main method of transmission. I think it's also safe to assume that the bite happens during an attack. And to be perfectly frank it can be inferred that in most cases a man is more likely to survive a werewolf attack than a...

Sorry to necro, but I felt this had to be injected into the discussion. Better question about Lovecraft's so called "cosmic horrors", when have critters like Chtulhu ever really proven themselves to be as all powerful as they claim, if I remember Chtulhu went out of his way to avoid being ...

Re:

I don't think that applying "logics" to Werewolves is the right approach. Not if we're trying to tell a story. If we're working within the scope of myths, we're actually forced to assume mystical thinking. From a non-mystical point of view, the existence of Werewolves and removing the aff...

Re: Any anti-werewolf KKK-type organizations?

I tend to shy away from "GRRRR, KILL THE FURRY ABOMINATION!" Knights Templar groups in my stories, for no reason that I tend to have Knights Templar or Free Mason like organizations as either neutral or relatively benevolent, though in one of my stories there is a large “Hunter” type group...
