I used to be the 'lone wolf' type. I realize now, it was mostly in my head. I've had a large group of friends since 10th grade, and never any lack of friend-making when in a new place. I'd definitely take the omega position in a pack, since I have no spine. I'm the easy-going wise-cracker who ...

I myself prefer the term "werewolves". Don't get me wrong, it may not be the most original name, but I've always felt there was a certain ring to it, a certain primal perfection in the term which sums up everything in a nice little package.

Hey, I signed too. I wonder if anyone even has to listen to this, given that a lot of the signatures I saw (on the end page, at least) aren't even from Idaho. I guess it's the problem with online petitions.

This thread is beginning the swift slide into religion-bashings. I knew it would from the start, but I'm fairly impressed it took this long. Why don't we all take a step back and look at the original question? I think we're starting to hit an impasse of people who think one way and people who think ...

I'm really surprised you weren't taken in for questioning/booked on assault charges. Actually, as far as the military goes, it would probably be a while before weres were fully integrated into the military, if they ever were. Werewolf-only units are what I'm talking about here. They might be deployed a few to a standard unit in wartime, but as far as training goes, there would more ...

*ahem* FREEBORN HAD TOO MUCH INPUT TWO YEARS AGO. Seriously. I joined this board in late November 2004, and after about four or five months, we had covered every minor detail of werewolves relevant to creating a movie. Ever since then, it's just been hashing and rehashing things that are so minor th...

Weres in the military? Can we say "don't ask, don't shift"? The idea of werewolf segregation brings up an interesting comparison in my mind. Like sexual preference, lycanthropy (especially the sort which is under the control of the were in question) would be an invisible minority qua...

Re: Werewolves as their own species.

Hey hey hey. Just because we havent found creatures that shapeshift or can become invisible doesnt mean they dont exist. They just arent common. Science ets uprooted all the time with new discoveries that make everything they once said completly wrong. People used to believe the universe evolved ar...

Re: Werewolves as their own species.

Finally some of the stuff they do is unheard of in the natural world. You're hitting an important point here: werewolves aren't found in the natural world. At some point, you have to be able to say, "This is fantasy, and we can stretch things just a little bit for such and such reason." I...

Speaking fairly more realistically, from the United States perspective, and assuming at first that the public reaction isn't to kill werewolves on sight (which it probably would be), I can't see much in the way of law changes. What do werewolves do? Scare people? That's considered threatening/intimi...

The name "Werewolf" in my opinion should belong to metal bands (the name just sound intense, right for metal) , not to 40-year-old red necks singing really old school rock'n roll. This is along the lines of why I was disappointed in Wolfmother. :| Also, I had actually heard of this...

I hate to argue alongside the point, but the fact is Wikipedia is hardly a scholarly source. Anyone can edit or create a page that says anything they want. Thus, information such as what you've attempted to link to must be taken with a grain of salt. I use Wiki myself for less important things -- po...

The long story is, about six months after I started posting here (check the memberlist, I'm #12, this was quite some time ago), I decided that everything that could be said about werewolves had been said. Face it, I'm not quite as big a werewolf thinker as the rest of you. My thoughts turned then to...

Not new, just back

Yeah, so, I stopped really checking this board about four months ago (as all the "newest post" links seemed to take me back to Nov 9 or so) and totally missed the server change. :( I'm bad. But now I'm back, thanks to a timely PM from kitetsu (I think that's your name), and I figured I'd p...
