Re: love death and robots

Ahh yes, monotone black/dark grey werewolf are always magically made to look more appealing to look at. :)

This reminds me of the contrasting Van Helsing werewolves, except with better ears. :P

Re: Pure breeds and Bite-ins

Alrighty, let's see if I can pick the bones clean here... 1) In the case of a bite in, you have the host's human genome, and the fully functional werewolf virus genome spliced together. The combination may be called a "pure bite-in" progenitor to what happens next - The bite-in finds anoth...

Re: Pure breeds and Bite-ins

That's a curious take on virus potency. If I'm reading this right, it sounds like the bitten human has no immunity to any version of the virus, whereas a bred werewolf is born immune to a stagnant virus strain. The physiological expression of the virus still occurs in both the bite in and bred bred ...

Re: love death and robots

I think it's probably like you said, the video has a "low budget" feel. It actually reminds me of video game graphics, but then again there's been talk of multi-million dollar budgets for AAA game titles because of all the bells and whistles high end games are expected to have now. This is...

Re: love death and robots

Well, I just looked it up . This one was done by Blur Studio. Shout out to Tim Miller. The complete Shape-Shifters episode has a 16 minute run time. Deadpool run time is 108 minutes and cost $58 million. Divide 58 by 7 to roughly equate the run times: Somewhere in the ballpark of $8-9 million maybe?...

Re: love death and robots

Agreed, I'd love to see a feature length film done this way. In a few respects that's what I was alluding. Within what is essentially a glorified video game cut scene produced in a good renderer with good assets (ala Tomb Raider graphics of said game review, with their (relatively for a video game) ...

Re: love death and robots

Yeah true, tails would have been nice. I think my peeve is the inconsistent transformation gimicks: One guy's face transforms straight into a wolf with no apparent skin peeling; another transforms and rips the human facial skin off to reveal the wolf face beneath just for the sake of looking badass....

Huh, the name rings a bell, but I've actually no idea. Is this a netflix thing? (don't mind El Luddite over here, I haven't had a TV for 19 years, netflix scares me okay? Like the VCR scares everyone's granny. :P ) Nice woofers anyway, kind of reminds me of a video review of Tomb Raider once, Lara c...

Wikipedia says there's a planned third film as well. I guess once you've built a team for an initial production, it can be hard to let go.

Hmm, never heard of those (reference the last couple of posts). Anyway, funnies! Off the top of my head? Let's see... Funny films: A little bit of Airplane; a dab of Naked Gun; a splash of Good Morning, Vietnam; a sprinkle of Stir Crazy. Silly films: We Are Morons From Outer Space; Attack of the Kil...

Well, the IRC is dead, but the "demo" chat has been alive and well for a while. For what it's worth I'm going to try hang out there regularly for a while. Some people might not spot it on the forum (I know I didn't even register it for months, even though it's right there in plain sight :l...

With respect, the internet isn't useless. You just need to know how to use it, and what to use it for. You had dreams? There are dream interpretation oriented sites. You have odd sightings in the bath etc? There are sites pertaining to everything from ghosts to astral beings. On a side note, it migh...

Hello Sybella. I'd suggest researching your target more carefully in future. This is an online werewolf art and fiction writing community. It doesn't do pack affiliation, or provide free space to launch recruitment drives. In short, please put the hammer down, before you break any more terms of serv...

Re: Feedback on Forum Guidelines

The illegal activities rule is an awkward one. I've heard of cases (ancient history, so no sources unfortunately) in which there was no distinction between the depiction of illegal activities in works of fiction, and actual illegal activity. The reason being that simply describing the machinations o...

Actually we DO role-play , its just not a "Role-playing" website. If you're a fan of werewolves, and a role player, then role playing in the dedicated sub forum is totally a legit activity here, and every bit as creative and expressive an art form as story writing. The only difference I re...

A small and quite possibly dwindling handful.

May I ask who's inquiring? Since this is the introduction forum, and the question you posed only says so much. :)

Depends how you define family. If I'm not mistaken, traditions and honours are a way other than names and blood relations to keep a familial lineage going. Kind of a pity there's unscrupulous people who adopt a tradition/honours based family for the sake of being cool or different, or worse, as a cr...

Heh, yeah, M. Night Shimmyshammy does apparently have a reputation for weak foreshadowing (which is depressing for me because I never saw the twists coming, or maybe I was just eye-glazed zoned out for most of it, who knows  ). So far I've seen Unbreakable, Lady in the Water, and The Happening....

Hello. :) My experiences here? I didn't see the site's hay day or the Devoured/Freeborn transition, but from what I can gather the place has calmed down since then. There was a spike in activity a few years ago, but the quieter space it is now suits me. I did know about all this from the beginning (...
