Both for sure! That would entail both the human and the wolf side. Also, I would think that if the werewolf wanted to get a bit of speed, it would drop down to all fours.

That's the way I would think of it. As a role playing gamer I have played many characters over the years. In many of them games I have played a werewolf that was able to run on four legs or two. And some of them games they have been more in line with reality. (I.E. no fantasy healing, or special powers just plain normal werewolves) And with the DM I play under she likes to even throw in sex and other things, eating, bathing, potty brreaks etc.
So I see it in a more realistic view of things because of my gameing and the many nights of hours of discussing all the things a werewolf would be able to do and not do.

I see a normal werewolf realisticaly being able to do anything a normal person would be able to do. But with some advantages, i.e. sense of smell, sense of hearing, eye sight, stronger muscles and bones. And with the ability to change at will, not the stupid hollywood crap of only on the night of the full moon.

It all depends on the type of werewolf they changed into. But they can run on all fours when in gestalt form.

I hate to do this, but in answer to the question of how does a Werewolf walk...
There is a simple answer.

On his Werewolf FEET!

Really, I think the question referred to Methods of Locomotion on those extremities.
And that's open, based on what kind of a Werewolf you're imagining. One thing they can't do, though, is Rollerblade...

Both... anatomically werewolves have bodies designed to walk all fours but as a human he must walk bipedal to mingle with other people :D

Not so for the Werewolf (at least the Digitigrade Were's). Put the Foot-Paw down, then pivot on the foot-paw and the ankle simultaneously.
It would be more of a gliding motion, very smooth, very quiet.
Humans rock from side to side (walking's a controlled fall, really)
Were's don't rock that way, they move slightly back and forward, but again only slightly.
It's really quite a graceful form of locomotion, they seem to flow more than walk. Most of the body motion stops at the waist, leaving the upper body fairly still. Running's the same, only faster.
As quadrupeds, they don't run, they leap, clearing the ground completely, again with amazing gracefulness.
Yeah some time ago I read someone say that one of the ways to identify a werewolf in human form is by it's rocking walk and overall overly active upper-body movement. I think this is absolutely ridiculous.

Humans have two ways of walking. Some walk by putting the heel of the foot down first and then the toes. Others walk by putting the toes and ball of their feet down first then the heel. The first form of walking is the most common form. But some of us like myself walk the other way, which gives almost a gliding walk instead of the bone jarring gait of the first form. (this form of walking is also how most sprinters in track walk and how many hunters walk in the forest while hunting)
It also is a very quiet form of walking as you can tell what your steping on before putting your whole foot down.
And is some times call the "cat walk" for if you watch how a cat walks you'll see toe then heel hit the ground.

Hope this gives some ideas about how a werewolf would walk..

Yes it does execpt your not walking backwards. I know, cause thats how I walk. And used to run when I was in track a long time ago. That and many many years of watching my various dogs walk and run around the yard.

I write fanfiction on yiffstar, and I need to know how various animals would walk or run for my writting, thus the many years of reading books and watching animals. And with all that it allows me to concive how an anthromorphic being like a werewolf would walk.

Keep in mind that I was referring to a Digitigrade Werewolf when I described their walk.
(Note" Digitigrade = Front of foot on ground first; Plantigrade = Heel on ground first)
Yes, some people are naturally Digitigrade in their walk, and move the same way a Digitigrade werewolf would. Everybody is digitigrade when they run, since it is a much more efficient way of travel, and the slow ones got eaten.
My vision of the Werewolf is a digitigrade one because; A: That's how Wolves walk on their feet, and B: Because it makes for a more believable Werewolf construct.
We would have been Digitigrade if we hadn't spent too much time in trees, way back in our evolution. Our Plantigrade walk is the result of needing more "stuff" to keep our balance. Take a look at any of the Great Apes; they are flat-footed as He--. They can't run for beans as a result.
Thus is our past always with us, to the delight of Podiatrists.

@Redeye: From what researchers have found out, walking digitigrade is a gliding walk and is softer on your feet and bones. A digitigrade walk is what most animals use.. Reason, this type of walk is quiet in the woods or even on the street if you are mindful of your surroundings.

@Blackwolfhell: I don't have books per se, all my writtings are on the web. I have three series that I have been posting for two years now.
Yiffstar is an adult furry site for artist and writers to post thier works. Here's the direct link to the website and the second one is to my page there.
Links deleted due to inappropriate content for a General Audience Forum.

That is a hardcore porn site, wolf421. In my opinion, links to places like that are inappropriate for these forums. Blackwolfhell just tried to access the site from school for Pete's sake, not realizing exactly what it was. At the very least you should have given very clear and blatant WARNINGS as to the content of the site.

Taken care of...

Note for others: By all means, you can post links; but if you don't warn people that they are either M-rated or X-rated when that's what they are-
They'll be deleted.

Now for the people who don't know: "Yiff" is a Furry word for SECKS (getting around the censor for a reason). Yiffing is what Furs do for intimate pleasure.
If it has the word "Yiff" in the title: Don't try accessing it from any machine other than your own; and you had better be old enough to legally do so.
GET IT? :x

I do applogize for that.
I'm so used to posting in adult forums on the web that I foget myself and post the links without thinking of which forum I'm currently in sometimes.

Sometimes I do tend to forget that not everyone knows what a furry is...(took me some years to realize that I was one myself, lol)

All my writtings are for adults to be point blank about it. As an adult I write about adult issues in my stories. Sorry if I broke the rules here by posting links to my user page and the main page of the website I post my stories at.

@Berserker: If thats what you call a hardcore site I hate to hear what you think of some of the REAL hardcore sites on the web.

BTW: The site I post at is for adults only. And the site has anthromorphic pictures and stories centered around animals. (and by law is not considered p**n) at least where I live.

Once again I'm sorry if my earlier post offened some adults and teens here alike.
