If the lone wolf is male and catches the attention of a subordinate none breeding female, then usually unless the Alpha male and female object too strongly she could easily run off with him to create a new pack. That is typically how new packs form in wolves.

They could run off, but if the female was a subordinate that doesn't know how to lead a pack, then the new pack wouldn't work. If the hierarchy isn't stable, then the pack would never work and the female who left her first pack would be in deep doggy doo doo. It wouldn't be wise for the wolf to leave the pack if she can't think ahead and realize the mistakes she could be making. Just because she was in lust, I'd hardly think it worth it.

That's what would happen with regular wolves, but regular wolf packs don't have to keep tabs on other packs to make sure they don't do anything reckless that could cause a ripple effect that would wipe out all the packs.

It more or less depends on why said outcast is an outcast. Someone that just has something against the current alpha or way the pack is governed would be allowed to move on to form their own pack, at least so long as they relocated far away enough that the original pack could have deniability just in case something did go wrong.

If the argument was about, say, whether or not they should coexist with humans or wage war against them, however, the original pack(s) would be obligated to ensure that the outcast and any of his supporters could never practice what he preaches.

It's another one of those case scenarios where you would have to look closer at the details to interpret the outcome.

Well. . . . you have have to think about stuff every once and a while. We can't answer the question to your potential because there are so many ways to look at it.

This question is answered after a sort by the recently released Movie:
Blood and Chocolate.
It's yet another version of West Side story; sort of.
The book its title was based on was totally different, but still had a similar type of plot.
Neither was worth the price of admission/purchase. (IMHO)

Still, your question would apply in a pack of the "Cousins"-the Wolves; and in that case, the female interloper would either be killed or driven off; her potential mate's passions to the contrary.
Were's are different in that they combine both Human and Wolven responses... If this female were really a challenge to the Alpha Female; then the Mother of all Bitchfights would ensue, and probably end with one female permanently removed from the picture; as in dead or so badly damaged that her potential mate would lose interest.
For Wolves, mating is always based on the Best of the Best being the parents of the Pack's children for that year. If the interloper were better than the curent Alpha, she would become the new Alpha Female...if not, she would be dead.
Emotional Passions are not a part of a Wolf Pack's focus: survival is.

I like how that was put. I think she should get the big picture: whatever they do (the two "in love"), it could have bad results. I can't come up with any good results at the moment.

butttttttt. what if the subordinate female talks to the beta and alpha wolves to let the outlaw mutt into the pack? Would the outlaw then be okay to have cubs with the subordinate female, or would the outlaw have to have cubs with the top wolves?

It really depends on the situation; what type of packs are we talking about? How wolfie are these werewolves; how human are they? Are they governed strictly the way a wolf pack is or do they only loosely consider them selves a pack? How critical to the pack's survival is this pairing, and just who are we talking about? are they young and impulsive? Do they know what they're doing?

I.M.H.O. Now, that's taken care of:

Werewolves combine Human and Wolf mentalities, hence my term of LUPAN (LUPus/humAN). While the outsider is not a part of the Pack, there is a wolf wanting to mate with him, and since Werewolves have a decidedly limited genetic pool to draw from, it would probably be allowed.
There would be conditions, however. Why is this outsider an outsider? Is he a passager (not yet affiliated with a Pack)? Was he expelled from a Pack, and why? Is the interested subordinate female willing to support the resulting offspring on her own (should he leave)? Does this outsider male have any defects that might be passed on by reproduction? Will this conflict with the Pack's interests or its security?

Look at the question as if it were with a Tribe of some sort, as that's what WerePacks are; Tribes of WolfKin, hidden in humanity.
I think if you look at it that way, it will sort itself out.

There's a book called the Sight, it should answer your question Fyriewolf. read it, one point they talk about mind shift for human and wolf, so it has a little bit of werewolf idea in it. :howl: :oo
