Or will their claws break when trying to climb up the apartment for a howl?

I don't see why not. I never understood why people don't approve of a calcium-loaded werewolf pulling the spiderman, because there's nothing worse than breaking a claw while trying to do s*** like, oh, i dunno, crawling on the ceiling to avoid a floor full of X-trillion volts worth of electricity, unaided.

I wouldn't say epic jumps butthey could jump pretty far, some of the others will probably give you more insight on what strengths and limitations they have. :howl: :oo

If a Human could reasonably scale a given wall, why not a Werewolf?

There is a problem with the "drive the claws in and climb" concept; namely getting the claws back out!

Hmmm... Scale walls? Why not. I don't think the whole driving-claws-into-wall thing would work though.

Epic jumps? Not epic...but farther than a human..

That and the wall might not support the werewolf's weight. That was my greatest beef about the Underworld werewolves -- they were doing that Spiderman trick on frickin' plaster.

Some normal humans can scale some walls though, so I wouldn't deny the ability to werewolves completely. There's a fine line between making a werewolf stronger than the average man and making them Superman. Scaling walls the way they did in Underworld would be overpowering them in my book.

If dogs can wall jump, humans can too!

If cats can wall jump, wolves can't too!

Should a werewolf be able to scale walls? Hmmmmm.... I suppose it depends on what's needed for the movie/story in question. If you need them to be able to, then...yes. If not, then....probably not.

I think they could, but not for very long. Going vertically up a wall, I could see. But certinaly not the Underworld running-along-on-the-walls/ceilings stuff. :P No Spiderman tricks.

And yeah, I thing wws would be able to do longer/higher leaps than humans; but not 'epic' jumps. lol

Well, since werewolves are supposedly stronger than humans, I would say not so much of an epic jump, but being able to jump a fair height would be possible. And the fact for scaling walls... the Spiderman kinda of scale, most likely not. But maybe if their clawes were strong enough to go into concrete walls... sure. Otherwise no, they most likely wouldn't be able to walk on a wall for more than a few seconds.
Take my advice-- I don't use it anyway

Werewolves rely more on strength and endurance than agility. So that makes them to have superhuman strength or inhuman strength.

Wolves can climb over walls in swift speed.

I had a friend who could run up a fifty foot wall for about ten feet before he had to jump off and do a back flip. I lost contact when I moved to Buffalo and he (I think) moved to Florida. Shame that we lost contact, we got along so well.

Mark, if you're reading this per chance, I owe you ten bucks. Spiderman and the hulk fought and Spidey won. I guess I owe you.

I know this is off topic, but how do people run up a wall for a few seconds and then are able to do a back flip? I've tried it once, but I wasn't successful at all. I've always thought that it would cool to do.
I've seen one guy do it once... though it was inside and there were a bunch of desks around (not a smart thing to do), and he never got around to doing a back flip, just running up the wall for a second and falling down.

Underworld Spidey-wolf? No.

Really amazingly good at parkour due to their newly acquired physical strength and abilities, which may allow them to climb walls really well? Yes.

Using claws to climb? I guess, as long as the surface is soft enough or has enough surfaces to grip like brick or something.

I think the way the "Lycans" (werewolves) in Underworld crawled along the walls like SpiderMan was simply rediculous ... so no on that.

The way the Gargoyles (from the Awesome Disney Series of the same name), climbed stone walls may work for them, but I don't think that is appropriate for Werewolves either ... so no there as well.

However ... though I really don't think it should be considered one of a werewolves "Abilities", and certainly not something they would do often (how often do you see Canines of ANY sort climb anyting? It happens, but rarely), I imagine that a Werewolves claws would be strong enough to hold up the rest of it's body if it were to suspend itself from them for some very unusual reason.

... I doubt it would be at all a natural looking or graceful act though ... like a Cat dangling from the window curtains ... very awkward and cumbersome. Given the right circumstances, I suppose it would not be inconceivable to see a werewolf dig it's fore and hind claws into a soft wall, or the trunk of a tree, to climb up on top of it ... but certainly not crawl along it as if it were a viable traveling surface.

So ... COULD ... but normally wouldn't, since it would be too awkward and cumbersome to be of any use in most situations, and just isn't natural, to be honest.

If I give some werewolves a fine fresh meat steak of a bull. Will they try climb up a 50 foot wall without the god-forsaken UnderWorld Lycan werewolves' spiderman climbing abilities? :|

Let's consider the type of wall, here.

On one end of the scale; Smooth Concrete, and on the other: Rough Stone.
Wood Fences would be about midway on this scale.
IF and I say IF, an experienced human climber could do it; then one might suppose that a Werewolf could.
Smooth Concrete is pretty much unclimbable by anybody; that's why it's used in so many high security applications.
Rough Stone, either moartared or dry-set, is relatively easy to climb; if you have the time and know basic rock climbing skills.
And with the use of claws for a little extra purchase, a WW could climb a wooden wall...eventually; if he/she couldn't just break through it.

And then there is always the question, why not just go around the wall and use the door?

I saw the most bizarre thing on Animal Planet (I think). There was this show about neat pet tricks. There was this dog (it was an Aussie Shepherd, I think) that could go over eight foot walls like they weren't there. This dog would get maybe ten feet of a running (loping) start... and he wasn't even going all that fast either (a friend of ours has an Australian Koolie, very similar breed and those dogs can move). Anyway, the dog hops up against the wall with his forepaws and runs up the wall and over, lands lightly and looks back at his human with this look like "No big deal. What's next?" (*wag, wag, wag*).
