No offense, but I'm not a huge fan of the '98' Zilla. This one, looks to be like a perfect updated version of the original Godzilla.

I said that, because you never know what some people will take umbrage to. I don't even consider the '98' one to be Godzilla. That thing was an oversized Iguana/velociraptor travesty.

Meh. I don't know, that whole "you're hiding something!" angle sounds really stupid for a Godzilla movie. Wasn't that already pointed out when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen tried to use it?

Maybe it's just me; I've never been a fan of "Armageddon porn" movies, but I really think this is going to blow.

That first clip of Godzilla vs the Navy at the GG bridge is awesome! It reminds me of that scene from Pacific Rim where the 1st kaiju came through the breach, and started attacking the bridge.

I'm gonna go see the movie tonight. I just hope that it turns out to be as good as I think it'll be.

Without going into detail, let me just say that the movie was not awesome, but it was good! I liked Pacific Rim better. What was awesome though, was when Godzilla first let out his iconic roar and used his atomic fire breath in the movie. The entire theater erupted in applause and cheering. :D

now i have seen the movie i think is equal or grater than Pacific Rim, but is filmed diffrently pacific rim shoved fighting directly but godzilla did show it like its not important and focused on humans during this fights only last fight is shown more directly.

i give it 8/10- its worth watching it, but other Godzilla movies including American godzilla(1998) did focus more directly on godzilla fighting, but this one shows it more directly only at final fight.

Frankly, I don't know where to start on all the things wrong with this movie, so I'll just sum up the plot instead:

Admiral: "We believe that the creature somehow consumes radiation, so we're going to use the largest nuclear weapon in our arsenal to destroy it..."

Re-tar-ded.

And I know I'm kicking a dead horse here, but this putrid pile of awful could not have been cheap to produce... But there's nobody in Hollywood willing to back Freeborn?

I think they addressed that in the movie. Even though the creatures fed on radiation, they were gonna try and kill them with the pure kinetic force of the blast itself.

Yeah... Um... They also mentioned that they had already tried that in the 1950s and it didn't work. The Navy guy's response: "Oh, don't worry. We're using a bigger bomb this time. It'll totally work now."

I reiterate my earlier post: Re-tar-ded.

Oh well... to each his own. I liked it. I just wished they would've used some of Godzilla's traditional foes instead of those Mutos.

Actually, I sort of thought the Mutos were sort of novel in one way: The whole gender thing.

Anyway, in my opinion, it's not a real Godzilla movie unless it has poorly dubbed English voice-overs for people who are clearly speaking Japanese.
