What TV shows did you watch when you were a kid?

Post by Dreamer »

Me, I watched the classics (Looney Tunes, The Flintstones, Scooby Doo) not to mention the original Cartoon Cartoons (Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, ect.) and Nickelodeon (rugrats, Angry Beavers, Ect.). I know every generations says this, but it beat the hell out of the live action crapola on Disney Channel that is, unfortunately, killing and warping Cartoon Network by ruinign their ratings and making them do live action such as Raven the racist stereotype. Ooh snap! Not to mention all the other bilge that thed little kids watch on there (including, unfortunately, my little brother)n

So, what did you watch when you were kids?

Plenty. For a while, I was basically one of those kids that would watch something just because it was the best thing on, so I couldn't possibly tell you everything I used to watch. However, I have fond memories of the following:

Looney Tunes
G.I. Joe
Bucky O'Hare
Mighty Max
Samurai Pizza Cats
Animaniacs
Gargoyles
Beast Wars
Road Rovers
Cybersix
Pokemon
Digimon
Angry Beavers
Samurai Jack

Part of me is kinda' glad I was born when I did, cuz' if it had been later, I might not even know what Bucky O'Hare or the Samurai Pizza Cats are, and another part of me wishes I was born later so I could watch things like Viva Pinata guilt free. Well, tis better to have loved and lost then to never haved loved at all I guess, so I'll stick with enjoying the age that I am.

Practically everything from the time that Cartoon Network still had quality shows (90's). I remember I watched the UK Cartoon Network via satalite for years before it came to the Netherlands. I also used to follow DragonBall Z before it went completely overhyped and boring.

I know the guy that wrote the theme song to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (The Original).

He's awesome. Actually, he was my choral instructor.

Do you guys, remember that TV show with those dragon riders, there's like one city/group of humans left in the world, in the future. They live in this like airship city, above the earth and some of them ride dragons.

The earth in this, has turned into some king of volcanic, radioactive hellhole, where only the bad guys, hideous mutants live, descended from humans, who didn't manage to escape the surface I think.

Was it Dragonflyz? I don't remember there being a show, but I remember the toy line and there was a video I had of it... I didn't watch the whole video, I was more interested in the toy.

I couldn't watch any Hanna Barbara-cartoons as a kid because I thought they were all the same exept for the characters. Besides, I was way too autistic to not notice the same window and table sliding on the background for 500 times or so.

Anyway, stuff I did enjoy watching:

The A-Team
MacGyver
Knightrider

And a s*** of mid-90's daily cartoons.

Your correct, that explains why it was so difficult to find, information about the show, dragonflyz, thanks. :)

There are two more mabye, you can help me remember/locate.

The first one started with this guy, doctor cuckoo clock, I think he invented various stuff, though that was his name and he jumps out of this shed thing near, the beggining when the music and intro starts.

The other is this thing which started with this like display of the universe and then these animal/creature heads, the bad guys in that were these humans guys, the episode I remember, these creatures were trying to get past this underground wall or something, or it might have been some type of prison. That's about all I can remember., or the universe and creature heads could have been with the outro and credits.

Captain Planet must be, without being homophobic or something, the gayest form of cartoon out there.

Most of what I watched when I was young I can't remember, and probably just as well. Some of the things I do remember having watched from when I was young up to probably mid teens:

Basil Brush
Doctor Who
Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
Joe 90
Rent-A-Ghost
Thunderbirds
Stingray
Danger Mouse
Sapphire and Steel
A Haunting We Will Go

Don't ask me to remember too much about most of them though!
