September is a long way off ... all the good things always seem to be saved for the latter months of the year, unfortunately.

This looks just the kind of film I'd like to watch, a little bit abstract, rather weird, with some originality in there... yes, looking forward to this. Yes indeed.

I don't know what to think of this one. During the opening I was thinking "Oh God Tim, please tell me you aren't ripping off Wall-E!"

Then that big mechanical dog-thingie came onto the screen and any reservations I might have had about this film went straight out the window.

It does trouble me a bit that the "protector of the future" looks like a mechanical fraggle, but for Tim, it's something I'm willing to overlook. I don't know if I'll see this in theaters (or more accurately, if I'll be able to afford to), but I'm definitely eager to see what happens with this film.

When I saw that mechanical dog and those other machines, the 1st thing that popped in my mind was "The Terminator."

Why is everything that Tim Burton has his name attached to so darn pleasing to look at? In a dreary beautiful kinda way...

I think I might see this. Looks interesting...

Tim's movies are all dark and dreary because he has a definite preference for the Gothic approach, but they're all so beautiful, I'm convinced, because he may very well be one of the few directors left on Earth that works predominantly out of a love of the craft (or at the very least the only director with a love of the craft and a huge budget at his disposal). While others gradually become creatures of habit, fall victim to statistics or settle for less, Tim seems to have faith purely in his own artistic vision.

And he's usually right. People go to see Tim Burton films expecting to see something fantastical like this.

I'm still a little concerned about the character design and setting, but hey, if Tim can make a script about a skeleton kidnapping Santa into a masterpiece, I'm sure this won't disappoint either.

I can't wait for this movie. A couple of my friends want to see Coraline, but this Burton movie is the way to go. But yeah, it kind of reminds me of LittleBig Planet on the PS3. But, epic...LOL

It's interesting that you say that about Mr. Burton, because I always thought that, love him or hate him, Eli Roth is also one of those few directors left that really works out of a passion for their art.

I know, Hostel and "torture porn" and all that, but if you've seen his other films they're a bit more fun (From what I"ve heard at least), albeit just as gory, like "Cabin Fever" (which I haven't seen) or his trailer for Grindhouse "Thanksgiving" (Which I saw and loved).

I'm getting excited about all of these trailers, only to have to realize that the movies come later in the year...

This is one of the many movies I'll be watching this year. The animation looks really smooth and dynamic, already.

Hey, Coraline is just a few days away, even though it may not be from Tim Burton. It still looks good to watch.

That site is wicked awesome really, it reminds me of the Goosebumps title, but different.

Just found out today this was apparently based off of an animated short.

That short had me watching and holding my breath.

This is what happens when you play God. It's like 3d version of Virus, with A.I puppets thrown in.

Thanks for the link; the film short is quite interesting. It's an art piece, not meant to be "gotten" completely. It's beautifully surreal.

It'd be nice if this film is a monster hit, because it will prove once and for all that YES, there IS an adult audience who wants to see more adult animated films.

I sure as hell hope so.

It seems every cgi movie is just the family/comedy genre. Not even family movies with elements of drama, like The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.
Nice to see something grown up, with no apparent fart jokes for once

Holy. Crap. This is going to be awesome.

One thing I have to say I absolutely love about this is how the characters and the monsters are designed. They could have gone the easy route and made them all robotic, but instead they all look like they were made from household objects, almost as if they spawned from the very debris around them.

Even if it isn't a hit at the box office (but with Tim Burton on board, I'm sure it will be), I have no doubt this will win the Oscar for the best animated motion picture this year (and maybe even a few for sound editing and the like), and when that happens, it won't surprise me if it gets re-released in theaters and performs better than it had prior. It's going to be a hard concept to sell, but then again, so was everything else Tim Burton ever gave us.

Typically I can only afford to go see one movie in theaters all year. I have a feeling it's going to be this one this year.

This will be rated PG-13.

That makes me so happy, to see an animated film not aimed at children.
