And always leave word where you're going and when you figure to be back. And take twice as much water as you think you'll need.

Hi, this is a long post so I have not read everything but, if the elusive animal cannot be found, have you looked for tracks? They could help identify what you are seeing.

Just a thought. :)

She's found tracks. Where she says she lives( the area), it's probably a coyote.

yeah th tracks most likely were, or a big dog.

but it's not to easy finding tracks here, a lot of the ground is pretty hard. only things that leaves tracks are people, and big dogs.

the best time for me to find tracks is when it rains. oh though then I have to assume the feet are smaller then the tracks make them appear.. and I'd know they would have to be fairly fresh.

Just an idea: Try raking the area where you find these tracks, unless there is nothing to rake there.

Tracks will show up against the pattern that the rake leaves behind, and you don't need a lot of dirt to make the pattern.

Just an idea...

Hmmm...
You don't know what it is, it worries you, you think it lives deeper in the desert and only occasionally shows up near your place. You want to get a dirt bike and go find it.
Right? :hsup

And I thought that they only delivered Pizza!

Good luck! :missed:

well I don't want to run into it, or anything els. just see if I can find any tracks, or anything interesting. I would feel better if I had a dirt bike so I can make a fast getaway if need be.

all the times I've encountered things I've been on foot, and was darn lucky.
Better safe, then sorry. You know?

Exactly. Which is why it would probably be in your best interest not to go looking for it. Just because you have a dirt bike(or will have one) does not mean you can escape safely. Anything can happen, anything can go wrong. Besides, you made the first post about it on December 26, 2006 and here it is July 4, 2008. Is it even still around?

I know. that's why I haven't really been talking about it much. just replying to people.

and as I said, I'm not looking for it, just anything like prints or what not. and I'm not even planning on going very far. it's not like I'm going to New Mexico. I just want to go in a bit. I'm just to curious for my own good.

now, I'll only post here if I find anything of interest.

The mystery is done or is it? Exploring is still fun, just be careful once you are out there again. Don't get lost, I could just imagine a lone desert wolf bumping into you, the wolf is howling for company.

I hate to bring this up but... how do you know it doesn't want you to start poking around? It might be looking for attention... or it's next, supper easy meal... {Holds flash light underneath chin and turns on} Muwahahahahah! {clicks light off} But seriously, don't go looking for it... if it started moving away from you, be glad it did... and whatever you do, don't try exploring on a dirtbike... hasn't anyone seen the movies where the teen goes off exploring... and all that's ever found is the bike, mangaled and blood stained...? {Shudders} okay, i've just officially creeped myself out now... goodnight everyone...
(... Pleasant dreams, everyone... {chuckles softly})

I just look at it this way. If its not bothering you don't bother it. If it starts messing with things THEN consider doing something about it. We aren't the only ones in this world and we have no right to claim any particular place as our own. Especially if we aren't the first 'beings' there.

I don't actually plan on trying to see it in person (never ever want to ever again)

I just want to see if I can find any evidence it may have left behind. it only seemed to come out at night, so I want to go in the day time.

and I almost have enough money saved up for a good dirt bike, and I have a decent camera as well. so I'll post this summer if I find anything of interest.

and I've looked around online and found some articles about a couple of people who claim to have seen a bear wolf type animal (the description is similar to what I had seen.)

Nago lives in Texas, doesn't she? She's fine as long as she brings along something with decent stopping power.

Although if your aim isn't that good I suggest you bring a spread weapon like a shotgun. Or high explosives. In fact, you should probably nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
