The whole point of this is to secure better representation and awareness of the property. As I said before, my only concern is how to make CL stand out among a sea of werewolf films being made. I'm guessing one advantage my story has is that it prominently features non-wolf lycanthropes as well. ( other animal species in major roles )

Regardless of which one comes first, I have no doubt in my mind somebody will pick up the other one shortly after the critics and revenue start weighing in on the first one. After everything Twilight has done, I think everyone is going to be eager for something to reinvent the werewolf genre, so much so that anything that isn't ripping off Twilight or Underworld could be a hit.

Might be just wishful thinking on my part, but I seriously doubt CL would have made it as far as it has if people were sick of werewolves right now. First thing I'm sure a lot of people in the business do when they have a big stack of scripts on their desk is throw out all the ones with "vampire," "blood" or "of the night" in the titles.

Getting into the finals of one of the biggest contests in the world is tough. I made it all the way to finals last year, and missed out on top three in my category by maybe 3 judges points. Sometimes that's enough to get a studio interested, or to have your script put on a "recommended reading" list. Whatever it takes to get noticed and promoted.

BUT...

I have decided that after this contest ends, if nothing comes of it, I will cease actively promoting CL both here and anywhere else. You can only pass a script around for so long before people start to get sick of it. I have many, many other scripts that need writing. In fact, I am nearing the finish line on my new sci-fi script The Orphan Star ( Used to be named Orphan, but thanks to the recent horror film of the same name, I've been forced to change the title ) I've got a ton of stuff in the pipeline, and sadly, none of them are werewolf related...

...Oh...except for the Camp Lycanthrope sequel :} It should be done sometime in early 2012 :} Until then, cross your fingers and hope that it's predecessor does even better in this years contest.

Thanks Shadow. A lot of people share your feelings. I just hope I can get the movie made so we can have a film the fans can watch again and again. And while I'm at it, we can include Freeborn and HOD, and any other upcoming werewolf scripts from writers who have yet to show themselves on this board.
