I have been hearing about this game for awhile, and just now looked it up to see what it is.

I really do not live under a rock.

I agree. However, this game is currently my only social outlet. Nearly all of my friends and family are 800 miles away. When I move back to Texas this next February, I'll be cutting back on gaming. Plus, it's a great practice for making in-game content. Much easier than modding Half-Life 2 for damn sure! I just like to make vehicles, weapons, and clothes that can be imported and applied with ease. My idea of fun is a game that lets you be creative.

I encourage people to play this if you...
A) Are alone and without friends or family for miles around, and need company.
B) Love to build things and be creative.
C) Love to roleplay and want to live your fantasies.
D) Have an imagination.

The very notion of interacting in a fake world, when the real one is so much more interesting...just confuses me.

Its all about escaping reality Matt. Some people live harsh realities that they cant stand to think about. Second Life is a savior of sanity for some.

Honestly though, I like being in the real world too ya know. I make costume props as a hobby, go to college, do computer animation, and stuff.

This is interesting, this could reach the stage where everyone lives in the virtual world.

A bit of news for those of you inside and outside of Second Life. I've become an acquaintance of the owner of the Blue Bear Club some time ago. He hit a crisis that made his new purchase of a valuable lot of land at risk unless he got the money for it a month early. I helped him hatch the plan to pre-sell lots of his soon to be acquired land, and put forth my own $300 for a piece of it. The result? One of the best furry hang-outs in Second Life being put smack dab in the middle of "Fur Nation" (lots of traffic), and my own land right next door to it.

For me this means that I can sell the content I create with much more profit. The in-game money can be exchanged for real US dollars, and some make a living in this game. I wouldn't mind the extra cash doing what I do for fun. I build spaceships, armor, guns, and various other fun sci-fi doodads. Although the land is still being set up, the planning stages for all the virtual construction is discussed rigorously. I have put forth my ideas and my landlord / friend has adjusted his own designs to integrate mine.

I have a three stage plan. First, I'm building a science complex in an underground bunker. The basic layout and entrances will be made first. Next, with the SIM owner's help, we are linking a few areas of the SIM in a network of tunnels that converge with my bunker. Namely, the arcade that is positioned inside the mouth of the volcano will be the first to tunnel its way to my area. Finally, IF there is enough poly-count left in my section of the area, I will build a complex on top of the site where the bunker is hidden. This last idea may be tossed aside if i am to share my land with a friend of mine whom I promised to share the cost with if he needed the space.

What does this mean for The Pack? In the deepest areas of the bunker, where the ground water even trickles through the floor... my secret rooms will include a shrine to The Pack, with its symbol adorning the wall, and a circle of chairs around an old wooden meeting table will allow for some secretive meetings. Our down low presence in the world of Second Life.

And here is the design scheme I'm using to make the bunker. Look familiar? I made this about two years ago with Lightwave.

also, once that room is built, that will be the perfect time to start our little group, if you need anyhelp, im willing to do it, security might fit me best 8)
