This story opens with a wedding in the werewolf compound. A human woman marries a werewolf. She shows the bite marks that announce she is joining the pack willingly. The pack leader is unhappy however. He knows human to werewolf conversions are usually fatal. It is fatal to the bride. The next day the pack finds the body and they have to get rid of it. The pack leader orders that no werewolf will marry a human for the forseeable future.
This puts Jack in a bind with his werewolf subgroup.
The subgroup has himself (omega wolf), his sister werewolf (call her Sharon for now), Her werewolf husband (call him John for now). They both tell him to break his engagement to a human woman (call her Donna for now). Jack doesn't want to he believes he can hide his marriage from the rest of the pack and his being a werewolf from Donna. He holds out hope she will accept his condition since she Donna is a naturalist and wolf enthusist. Well that idea falls through when the body of the dead bride is found and a witness describes a werewolf. Word comes down from the pack leader that the pack must move. Members must abandon their lives and go. Finally Jack agrees to leave his fiance. But before he does he sleeps with her. (not a good idea). He leaves for his monthly 'Lodge' meeting 5 days early before the full moon. Donna finds this unusual but things change.
In 5 days she will too. The night of the full moon Donna is fixing dinner with mushrooms. She gets a call from a friend. The friend is dropping by later to pick something up. Donna finishes fixing dinner. She never smelled food so fragrent before. She looks up and sees the full moon. She feels hot. Suddenly her engagement ring that was always loose becomes unbearable tight. She pulls it off. She notices her hands seem to be swelling. Fake nails pop off and claws grow. Teeth grow then pain hits her. The first transformation progresses like most of the photomanipulations on the site.
The wolf finds itself in a strange cave. First it eats the food and then searches for a way out. Only when the visitor Donna was expecting drops by does the wolf get out.
The wolf starts looking for a pack to belong to. The next day Donna finds herself naked on the side of a hill. Two wolves on top of the hill are growlind down at her. (The wolves wonder were the female wolf went).
Donna thinks she got some psychodelic mushrooms somehow. But when her friend says a big dog was in her house last night and got out she changes her mind and panics. She runs to Jack's place to find comfort. Instead she finds Jack's house empty. she runs to Jack's sister's dome and finds her home empty too.
Donna whimpers not knowing what to do. The manager helps her look through the garbage they left behind. She finds their calander and realizes the Lodge meeting Jack went to and was so secret about occurred the day before, the day of, and the day after the full moon. 3 days. Jack must be a werewolf and apparently made her one. She's angrey and wants to track Jack down. But were to start. A news report gives her a clue. A wildlife refuge known to the locals as the Lodge has burned down. So she drives (races) to the Lodge fire site. Nothing is really left. There is a police line, but she meets up with an arson investigator also private investigator. Named Jack (williamson?) This Jack is not like her Jack. This Jack acts more heroicly more self assurred. He gives her a calling card.
By this time it is getting late and she 's in a bad emotional state. She stops at a roadside bar to drink herself silly. She isn't alone a bunch of other locals also want to drink themselves silly.
The full moon rises. Donna manages to whine out "oh no . . . " before she changes.This time it starts with her face. Some guys think she's a man for a moment. Donna staggers out of the bar into the tall grass. Where she finishes transforming.
The next morning she finds herself again naked with 2 wolves growling down at her.
"Oh Shoot!" Now she' angry again. She gets home calls Jack the investigator and wants to hire him to find her missing fiance. But before she can really get involved she has one more transformation to get through. That night she set out some tasty drugged food. She transforms the wolf eats the drugged food and sleeps the rest of the night. She is wary the next night wanting to be sure she will not transform. She doesn't so she has a better idea of how it works. She has 25 days before the moon will cause her to transform again. So she can dedicate herself to work with Jack the investigator. A tape arrives from Jack her fiance saying goodbye and that he will always love her. Buried in the tape are clues about where he is. Jack the investigator takes the tape and package and has them analyzed. That takes time. This Jack and Donna become close. A few days before the full moon they have a location. Donna leaves for the new Lodge location to confront her former fiance.
On their way to the location Donna reconsiders her anger toward her former fiance.
Just when they are about confron the fiance Donna pays off Jack the investigator saying he did his joband to leave. He does leave but follows from a distance.
Donna and Jack meet. Donna is at first furious with him for leaving her to figure this out on her own then she falls into his arms. They can now truly share their lives.
The night of the full moon they expect to share being wolves together but Donna doesn't transform. Jack does The next day Jack laughs and says Donna has to be pregnant. For werewolves it is a great early pregnancy test.
Jack and Donna renew their plans and what they want for their new baby.
The next night Donna is formally welcomed into the pack. Nearby Jack the investigator watches. The night of the total full moon when werewolves must transform (if they arn't pregnant) Jack the investigator corners the pack in the lodge compound and plans to kill the entire pack. Apparently the old pack leader renigged on a deal to help keep the leader in power. Jack the investigator sets fire to the compound. Both Jacks are killed, also the pack leader. The rest of the pack scatters.
Over a year later Donna with a baby gir and boy. It is the night of the full moon and Donna is waiting for her tursted baby sitter. The babysitter arrives and Donna leaves to search for a werewolf pack to belong to.
The end
alternate ending. Jack fiance and Donna start a new pack.

I've contemplated some Freeborn fanfic of my own; I haven't posted anything about it yet, because I don't yet have anything to post yet. But, as I started work on it, I contemplated some ground rules that I would recommend regarding Freeborn fanfic in general.

Proposed ground rules to suggest to The Pack:

1. No spoilers--those who have read the script should not use story elements or world setting elements that would give away in advance plot points in the movie. Any references to movie events should be suitably vague as not to give away anything not already common knowledge (such as the scenes in the teaser trailer or the names and basic personality elements of major characters.) Brehenan law can be mentioned, but the specific consequences of breaking it should not.

2. Respect the authors of Freeborn--works here should not violate copyright laws and should be offered in a manner consistent with the spirit of the original. After all, the authors are here and can read it.

3. Internal consistency--our fanfic might not agree with each other, but it should agree with the Freeborn storyline. Werewolves should not walk on walls or parade about in public with machine guns.

I hadn't considered alternate timelines, so rule 3 may not be quite as applicable, but be careful about doing a fanfic that could potentially spill too many beans. Mentioning Brehenon law might be alright, since that isn't giving away anything major. But, mentioning what specifically happens when you break it... that's a definite magnet for the you-know-what.... We'll have a lot more freedom to write openly about stuff once the actual movie is out.

Your idea seems pretty safe, as it doesn't give away plot secrets, instead showing a bit of background about Donna, one of the supporting characters.
