Antidisestablishmentarianism (n) - opposition to the withdrawal of state support or recognition from an established church, esp. the Anglican Church in 19th-century England.

(Something a rather zelatous person I know mentioned to me)

Flokkipakkimississification (unsure on spelling, I spelt it phoenetically)
It means 'the unnessessary use of long words'

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia
'The fear of long words'. Does anyone else find that so incredibly cruel?

Legerdemain- (n) skill in or practice of feats of magic, jugglery, etc.; sleight of hand. (A synonym for this is prestidigitation. Go figure.)

Defenestration- (n) the act of throwing a person or thing out of a window; most famously used to describe an incident in Prague, 1618, that triggered prolonged conflict within Bohemia.

lugubrious (comparative more lugubrious, superlative most lugubrious)

Gloomy, mournful or dismal, especially to an exaggerated degree.
The poor lighting and sparse maintenance of many buildings, plus the rarefied traffic on its wide boulevards made the overall effect that Pyongyang had on the tourist distinctly lugubrious.
His client's lugubrious expression tipped the detective off to the fact that there was something lurking beneath the surface of her seemingly optimistic words.

rhodomontade --
This word ought to be in wider use, considering how often its referent shows up in Usenet newsgroups. A synonym for "bombast", it refers to pretentious self-promotion, blustery bragging, and like that. Can be a noun, adjective, or intransitive verb. Can be spelled with or without the "h", but I like it better with.
