Answer the riddle of the person above you, then write your own. Sorry if this is a ressurected thread (the idea seems pretty unoriginal. ?? )

A quest of love ends with me,
Yet I am made endlessly,
When I drop, I say my name,
Take me off, freedom gain.

A baby?

A ring.

Babies when dropped don't say "baby," they say "WWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHH!!!" very loudly. And then the police get involved.

OK. My riddle:

What is it that can show you the answers to the questions asked throughout the ages, of the cause for the sun or the grandeur of the universe, that can crack open the secrets of cosmic strings and the quantum nature of light or deliver to you visions and words from the far side of the world with the stroke of your hand, but instead is used to watch cartoon hamsters dancing?

The internet?

No legs have I to dance,
No lungs have I to breathe,
No life have I to live or die
And yet I do all three.

What am I?

A flame?

Two brothers we are, great burdens we bear,
all day we are bitterly pressed;
Yet this I will say - we are full all the day,
and empty when we go to rest.

Shoes? I was thinking lungs at first, but they are only pressed when under great pressure, like deep under water or when something is sitting on you.

My first is a creature of unclear breeding,
my second a price you pay.
My whole can be found in the river of time
and refers to the events of today.

Silence.

It's been around for millions of years, but it's never more than a month old. What is it?

I'm not going to post a riddle since I'm not 100% sure on this and would like confirmation first:

The lunar cycle?

:D Yay. Lets try something different.

How many seconds are there in a year? Explain your answer, and remember, it's a riddle.

Nobody? Well, alright. Don't hate and/or throw large blunt objects at me for this:

The answer I was looking for was 12.

The second of January, the second of February, the second of March. . .
:ducktoss3:

Lemme' try and jump start this again with a classic:

Twas in the woods that I got it
So I sat down to find it
Hard as I looked, I found it not
And so I took it home with me

a splinter?

Dead men eat it, but if you eat it, you die.

Correct.

And I'm pretty sure the answer to yours is: Nothing.

My first is foremost legally.
My second circles outwardly.
My third leads all in victory.
My fourth twice ends a nominee.

Nobody for that one either? Oi. Part of me is all like :D yay, I'm good at this, and the other part of me is all :( crap, they're going to kill me for this.

Anyway, the answer to that one is L.O.V.E.

Just to jump-start this thread again:

How far can you walk into the woods?

It's... until you start to walk out of the woods? So, once you get to the middle. ish. :P

I read this riddle in an IQ test book.

A man gets a mug of coffee, and then he drops a sugar cube in it. He leaves and then comes back half an hour later to pick out the sugar cube. How?

Is this coffee liquid?

A mug of coffee could be coffee grounds or beans.
He leaves and then comes back half an hour later to pick out the sugar cube. How?
Walked? :D

Did get the sugar cube, says he comes to get the sugar cube, does not say he gets it.

lol, let me reword it:

he drops the sugar cube in the mug of coffee. he walks away for half an hour and comes back to his mug. he reaches inside the mug to take out the same, still-in-one-piece sugar cube as before. how is the sugar cube still the same?

I never thought of putting "walking" as an answer. that's just brilliant. there's still a correct answer to my riddle, though.

The only things I can think of is the mug is coffee beans, or ground coffee, the sugar cube is covered in wax :D, it would still fall apart in cold coffee, I will keep thinking.

I should of thought of that. :D

I thought of the ground coffee right away, lucky on that one, not sure how well I would have done on a couple other riddles.

Okay... lets me try this one...

Mountains are worn away, rivers are left dry;
men cannot halt it, and even dragons are not immune to it...

What is it?
