Apocalyptic earth: creation ideas

Post by Thunderclaw »

This is going to be a simple page where you can put ideas for items of any kind up, so long as they are sensible enough to have a purpose. Ideas on this page for anything may be used for Apocalyptic Earth, and the person will get full credit for his creation. A couple of rules, however

1) Define what type of item you have designed (weapon, spell, spacecraft, race, organization)

2) Name your item and describe what it looks like (Demonslayer blade- a katana-shaped purple blade with enhanced magical benefits to make it more effective against demonic foes)

3) say what the item is used for, who would use it. A nonsense item may still be used if this part is good enough. Otherwise, it may be removed. (for example: turkey hat at thanksgiving would be allowed as it is related to the event.)

4) If you have had inspiration from another link, mention it. (I got the idea from a book/ I based it on something I found in a book)

5) Don't copy another person's idea. It's impolite. Cases will also be with very slight changes (different colour, weight. Different name...)

6) Have fun, be creative, enjoy!

Hi again! How's this item look to you?

=====================

Type of Item: Cursed Amulet

Name: Amulet of Nefurba

Appearance: A seemingly perfect oval-cut emerald set into a tarnished silver brooch (all Edit: non-magical end of edit attempts to clean the silver will fail) and hung from a necklace of steel links. The diamond is warm and clammy to the touch, continually sweating a foul-smelling colored liquid that gives the jewel the appearance of a diseased cerebrum.

Use: Anyone wearing the amulet will be able to search through seemingly forgotten memories (even those that may have been deliberately "erased" and recall one chosen memory with perfect clarity. However, the memory is distorted and perverted: people are twisted into ghoulish monstrosities, landscapes are warped and darkened, and smells and tastes contain a bitter and gangrenous element that consistently taints other aromas. This hideously deformed memory is ever after recalled perfectly. What is more, if the user continues to wear the horrid thing, the amulet will invade his mind, perverting other memories until it is removed or the user's mind is totally overwritten and driven mad.

Thank you for your contribution Cyberwatt! I have edited it slightly, to fit in with some of the more magical players on Apocalyptic Earth.

The shadowdancer (sword)

It looks like a completely black blade normally, but when used in battle, it has an unstable blade made of shadows. The shadows appear to be "dancing" in battle. It was a gift given to Wolfward by Surge, made especially to fight demons and other creatures resiliant to standard items.

Type of Item: Robot

Name of Item: W8 Security Bot

Appearance: The W8 Security Bot is about the size of a basketball, and has an oval shape. It uses propellers beneath its frame to float above the ground, allowing it to enter seemingly impossible scenarios with ease. On its front side is an imprint of the flag of its former country, with a small flashlight-like searchlight beneath it, which costantly remains on in dark situations. Above the imprint are two green circles that resemble eyes for the robot, with a slit between them for any alerts that the robot may have to say. Two small turrets reside on either side of the frame, which shoot pellet-sized bullets at whatever the threat may be, and in large quantities can be deadly. Unfortunately, the turrets will ocassionally overheat, leaving the robot itself virtually defenseless.

History: Developed by the former countries of the world before the war, the W8 Security Bot, became a convinent home defense for the civillians of the peaceful nations, providing defense in case of any unexpected attacks. It eventually was built in many models, losing its militaristic purpose, and instead became a prime aspect in completing laborous jobs in everyday society. By the end of its first year, the W8's security model was primarily unsucessful, and only sold about 3,000 models worldwide. It was quickly removed from the line of production, but those who had purchased one kept it for years after, until the war broke out. After the war began, however, most of its remaining numbers were destroyed in the process of battle, leaving only about 300 models by the end of the first year of fighting.

Use: The W8 is both reliable and convinent when it comes to defense. It can withstand multiple hits from normal firearms, but is relatively weak against vehicles and non-human opponents. The user will sometimes have to repair any jams in its ammo belt if the robot becomes overheated. The speed of its bullets, however, is nearly unmatched.

((Sorry about it being so long. Just wanted to make it interesting))

Type: City
Name of city: Steel City
Population: 14,237
Government: Republic
Races: Humans, Werewolves, Vampires

Appearance: Surrounded completely by artificial mountains of steel and other debris on two of its four sides, Steel City is relatively well protected from outside invasion from hostile species. In fact, to most it appears as nothing more than a huge scrap yard built in the remains of an old city. On the remaining two sides, large metal walls surround the city, with large watchtowers built on their corners.

The city's inside is seperated into three districts, two of which circle around the third. On its side closest to the debris mountains, the civilian district has built up a presence, and due to lack of space some people have even begun building homes in the sides of the mountains. The eastern half of the city contains the city's water source and thrives off of industrial manufacturing and steel work. The city's main entrance leads into this district. Both districts surround the palace district in the city's center, the remains of some sort of skyscraper. It is here that the city's 'government' resides.

History:

Not much is known about the land in and around Steel City besides the fact that a city resided on it before the war. A group of human wanderers settled in the previous city's remains and used them mainly as a hiding place from the demon hordes. Within years, hundreds of wanderers had found their way to the 'city', and eventually decided to create an actual settlement. In its early years, there was no government, but arguements eventually began getting out of hand and people began recommending the establishment of a goverment. Within months a government was put into place, but it seemed to have little to no control over the people and was used simply as a 'decision making' body all the way up until modern day.

By its third year, people began digging tunnels beneath the city's surface, mainly in search of a usable water source, and eventually did find what they were looking for. Some tunnels went as far outside of the city as the HR's command center.

Notes:

-Werewolves have been spotted in and are welcomed within the city.
-There are no city police, only local groups that claim to be police.
-There are no laws keeping the HR out of the city

Type: Settlement
Name of Settlement: Cursed Station
Population: 753
Government: No formal government
Races: Humans

Appearance: Formerly part of a complex subway system, Cursed Station is now an individual station that was long ago cut off by years of underground fighting. However, because of its individuality, it maintains a clean interior environment, making it a very desirable place to live. Most of its housing is made of tents along the metal train tracks, while its stores and security centers operate out of what was formally the station's storage rooms.

Unfortunately, the station is prone to frequent demon attacks, which is why it gets the name "Cursed Station".

History:

Before the war, the station was part of an underground subway system that was used frequently. Once the war began, many local residents decided to take refuge in the station, only going to the surface for supplies and diplomatic reasons. Excluding a few uprisings, the station served as a relatively safe refuge until the demon attacks became frequent.

Notes:
-One of only a few free settlements behind HR borders
-Attacks are frequent
-Food shortage has become a problem
