"I took Evara from Alythes hands, and as I opened my mouth to ask if she could heal herself, I felt the presence of her soul wane, and exit the body. A tear fell down my cheek, and I briefly wiped it away. It was a great misfortune for death to occur once more in the group, especially one with a newly born pup. The pang of powerlessness hit me like a wave of nausea, sickening me. Having so much power, yet not enough. The sharp reminder that the next time I attempt to bring an entire city back from the grave, consider the consequences after. My energy had been drained greatly, and my abilities limited. Then again, while on the thought of limits, the fact that even gods had limitations came to mind. No one person stood on top. Strings were pulled, events unfurled, but there was no master, orchestrating it all. Great powers divulged influence, but even they had no complete dominance.

"Alythe, this pup will be protected, by my life, and likewise, i'm sure, the others. I promise you, since your life cannot be returned, your offspring will be safe."

After making this vow, I returned to the shadows, hidden, lest anyone were to come. Alyhte's body deserved a proper burial, but now was not the time.

I sighed heavily, sinking down onto my knees. Man, my head was killing me. I hummed softly under my breath, gently rubbing my stomach in circles.

I groaned as i stood, i was still unconcious when the others left, i was technically alone, there were dead bodies surrounding me. I stood silently, and then heard the worst thing any person could possibly imagine. Death. The minds piercing scream as one dies, whether they accept and die peacefully, if the mind has not reached its limit of education and knowledge it will scream and beg to live and learn. I cried out and howled long, falling to my knees and covering my ears with no use.

Soon it was over, dead silence. I stumbled back up, and was barely able to find the others. I found the leader, forgotten his name but he held a pup, and i found the formerly pregnant female lying dead. Her mind mustve been the one screaming. I bowed my head and then looked to the leader an the small pup. "Hi there little one, whats your name?" i asked, my voice cracked and was hoarse.

Fang quit struggling against those who were only trying to help him,but continued to call out for his sister and continued to receive no answer. He was starting to worry now,he could not even find her by her scent.

Zan moved towards the pile of rusted desks and seated himself on one of the desk's surfaces. The guards appeared to have their attention focused on Enir.

"That you would help me, right?" Zan replied to Enir's question.

Strangely, the room reminded him of his past, despite its obviously worn appearance. It reminded him of the war in New Richlend, of the bunker that he and his friends had fortified during the final hours. In fact, it was almost a mirrored image. Those around him, the guards, all stood almost exactly like his friends had during the seige. The only difference was that the guards weren't dead.

He closed his eyes. The sounds of war were returning to him. The painful screams were all around him. A ringing began to build, and then it stopped.

Suddenly the sounds were gone.

Slowly, Zan stood up and walked towards Sasha. His hands settled on her shoulders.

"Sasha, please tell them to lower their guns," Zan spoke.
"Why? So it can attack us and free you?" Sasha replied and pulled away from Zan.
"No. He's my friend."
"No, it's a monster. What makes it any different than the demons or vampires?"
"He could have killed us by now if he was like them."
"It's just waiting for our weakness." Sasha spoke, causing the guards to pull the safety of each gun.
Zan spoke, "If you shoot him, you're killing Amy's people. Is that what you want?"
"They aren't her people. We're her people. My sister wasn't a monster!"
"And neither is Enir."
Sasha smirked. "Really? So that's where your alleigence lies now, with them?"
"No. My alliegence isn't with anyone. I'm just using logic."
"To let the hell-creatures kill us?"
"Not exactly. Think about it. The werewolves could be a powerful ally for the settlement, could maybe help you defend from the demons."
"And what if they don't help us?"
"They will. You just have to prove your loyalty first. Shooting their people wouldn't exactly be the best method of diplomacy."

Sasha turned towards Zan sobbing. She nodded.

"Zan, if you're lying to me..."
"I'm not. I wouldn't lie to you. You're the closest thing I have to family now," Zan replied. "He won't hurt you."
"You're sure."
"I'm positive."

Within seconds, Sasha was turned back towards the guards. She raised her hand, causing them to lower their guns. Enir would be able to move freely.

Zan spoke:

"They came here to help me, Sasha. They could also use your help, though." Zan sighed. "We're trying to rebuild the old Human Regime. If you can provide any assistance, it would be greatly appreciated."
"And what about the demons?" Sasha replied abruptly.
"I don't know. Surge would probably know more about how to stop them."
"The HR is the only thing keeping them from overrunning the station."
"Well, maybe the werewolf tribes are willing to help you defend for a while. What do you think, Enir?" Zan spoke towards Enir.

evara, the newborn pup, became hungry and cold. her mothers warm fur had dissapeared to her. and the one that held her now was strange to her. she had just been getting to know warm fur and dilisious milk when it had been stolen from her by thhe hr soldiers. ceasing the yipping and starting to howl and whimper, thhe pup needed feeding. instinctivly the newborn nipped surge's chest searching for her mothers milk. when she failed to recieve milk she howled some more.

thhe pups howling alerted more hr soldiers. soon they had found surge and evara. guns clicked and pionted at the both of them. one was even so brave as too say, "hey it that alien creature who destroed our machine!"

another saw alythes dead body and pulled out a knife to skin it saying, "this pelt will make a nice addition to my office. to bad it got a lot of holes in it. must've been the intruder with the pup that set the whole forest on fire"

suddenly a small ball of fire hit thhe soldier skinning alythe's body in thhe face. evara had inherited her mothers pyrokinesis. evara haadnt meant too do it but still angered the hr souldiers.

"Kill them both" said thhe one hit by the fire

The soldiers would blow my cover! I didn't have time for this.
"The black sonnet, Dark Lightning"
A searing bolt of dark energy struck all of the soldiers at once, and they each collapsed, unable to even cry out in the last moment of their existence.

"I turned to the one who addressed me. She had joined mid-battle, so I couldn't remember her name, even if she had said it, and my focus was on the conversation. I whispered "Evara" under my breath, barely audible, before continuing my eavesdropping.

Ah. The HR was the main thing stopping demons. The nearby HR regiments were nearly destroyed completely, and the remainder were scattered. As the situation was, I couldn't wait any longer for events to unfold. Handing Evara to the other wolf, I muttered "hold for a moment, please, " before rushing in.

"Sorry to barge in like this, but you may have a problem if we don't make a move now. The HR regiments are scattered, and so they won't last long if a demon attack were to come, my son is currently aiding the former HR leader, whom should be meeting with the others fairly soon, my apprentice is healing the wounded, my daughter's off somewhere else, and the best solution would be evacuation. If that isn't possible, we'd have to make a stand, and to do that, I'll need the full cooperation of both humans and werewolves alike. If you can't put your distances aside, at least try for this battle. Demons are brutal, and not bound to the same logical forms as humans, werewolves, and vampires. The stronger ones are much harder to take down, and the technology of humanity and brutal speed of the werewolves will be an essential combination against demons."

I looked at the guards, staring quizically at me. They seemed to be more interested in who I was than the possible life-death situation.

Fang lay right where he was,he heard little Evara's howling and new that something was wrong. he quickly ran in the direction of Evara's howling but before he got there he caught the scent of blood,he recognized it as his own sister's. He fell to his knees at her side when he found her.

Tears filled his eyes as Fang let out a sorrow filled yell that could be heard for miles when he realized that his sister was no longer among the living, at that moment anger and sorrow clouded his emotions. He grabbed a gun from one of the dead soldiers, walked over to the others and pointed the gun at them. "You let my sister die!" he sobbed "She was all i had left and you didn't protect her! He said, pointing the gun at the others.

I inwardly cursed at surge for interrupting a still uneasy and dangerous truce I had managed to make with Zan's help. The humans had thought I was alone and now that surge showed up, it hurt my cause. But I had to try and recover it before it got any worse. "Please listen, he is right, we NEED EACH OTHER in order for any of us to survive." I still saw some miss-trust in the human's eyes but I kept pushing, "Iam not lying, and I don't have any alterior motives, I just want to ensure a future for my own mate and pup, and if that means joining the humans, then I will do it willingly. Think of all the human children that will die if we don't help each other." to help prove my point I stepped outside and let loose a howl, hoping Snowy would hear it and come.

I lifted my head at his howl. I got to my feet and followed the sound of his howl. When I saw him again, I smiled, ignoring the humans around us. I waddled over to him and placed his hand on my stomach. He could feel the pup kick.

"As you can see, we are not some mindless monsters, we can feel the same emotions as you humans, fear, regret, pain, sorrow, and even compassion. I stand here trying to take the first step toward a better and safer future for both humans and werewolves, so my pups can grow without fear of daemons and other suck servants of the dark ones."

I gave snowy a kiss on the cheek and then, stood in front of her just in case, I hoped my words had gotten to them but wasn't even going to take that chance that they might shoot my mate if they didn't listen. "Please, we need to work together to take out the oncoming threat, will you accept us or will you die alone, without help?" I normally wouldn't rush such a delicate matter but time was short.

I placed my hands upon his shoulders, pressing myself against his back. This was so not a good time to get shot. I glared daggers at Fang, who still had the gun pointed at all of us. I growled softly.

Fang tossed NightDeath from his arm, tears streaming down his face. Fang now pointed the gun directly at Snowy, and then at himself. As he pressed the muzzle of the gun to his chest,he dropped to his knees. "I have nothing left to live for." he cried, looking at Snowy who was still growling at him as his finger tightened on the trigger of the gun.

Fang was really going to do it,he was really going to end his own life. He had made sure the safety was off and the magazine was full before he began aiming it at the others, but now he had the gun pointed at himself, ready to pull the trigger.

I heard a sorrowful yell and ran towards the source, seeing a wolf in despair with a gun pointed at himself. I felt Evara's sudden fear ((not trying to control your character!!!!)), i gave a comfortig and gentle squeeze. "Wait!" i cried out. "You were the brother of this pups mother? You cant do this, are you going to let this little one, your niece, see you kill yourself? If anything you should let this one know who you are and that you are strong. Your sister would rather that than leaving her pup with no known and alive relatives. Sure the other male she entrusted has sworn to protect her, but she needs a family too. Think about what your sister wouldve wanted for you and Evara! Its going to hurt, i know, but you have to be strong for your niece." i stood my ground and held Evara protectively, facing her away from the male, Fang, and the gun.

Zan watched as the scene before him erupted into a mess of events. The group was collapsing, or seemed to be, when they were so close to ending one of the world's problems. He would need to act fast.

With hesitation, he began making his way towards the angered Fang, signaling for Sasha's guards to stand down. They complied.

"Fang, I know you're upset about the loss of your sister. We all are." Zan paused and looked towards the gun in Fang's hands. "But we need your help now more than ever. We're so close to ending the Human Regime. Take your hatred out on them, the people responsible for killing Alythe."

Zan then looked towards Sasha, and then towards the wall.

"I know how it is. My wife was killed by the Human Regime, and so were some of my best friends during the Battle of New Richlend. At one point, I wanted to do the same, wanted to end it all. Then I realized that there were others out there that needed my help, good people, innocents that wanted more than anything to rebuild all that they lost." Zan smiled. "Now, I believe there's a chance for that. We can return this world to how it used to be if we work together. Maybe even return it to a place worth living in. But we're the ones who have to do it. There aren't others out there trying to save this planet, only ones trying to destroy it."

This was defiantly not the time for suicide, we needed everyone's help. "Fang, please don't,you are one of my close friends, don't leave us, who is going to watch my back? What about all the stuff we have been through, who helped me when I was brainwashed by that dark mage and forced to take a different form. It was you, Zan, and the others, we need you!"(when Odin sent him back he was returned to his natural form)

"Fang, I know from experience, when the person closest to you dies, the worst thing you can do is take your own life. By killing yourself, you will end your sister's memory as well. Die now, and your sister's child will be left alone without a true family, and the memories of your sister will be mere echoes. She gave her life protecting her cub. Why kill yourself in depression, when you can live, and protect that which she died for?"

as if on cue, a familiar voice sounded upon thhe wind saying, "No brother!... protect my pup... you're all shes got left........"
and as quckly as it came, it was gone.

evara, also hearing the voice became momentarily quiet. but hunger was still an issue for the little pup, and thus she began her incessant howling again

Fang froze suddenly, hearing his sisters voice, "No brother!... protect my pup... you're all shes........" He looked to the others and then let the gun fall to the ground. he got up off of his knees, walked over to where his sisters body lay. Fang took her into his arms and carried her into the trees, "Sister...I'm sorry." he said gently laying her on the ground and dug a hole as deep as he could and buried her. After fang did that he took to branches from a tree and tore a piece of fabric from his shirt,he then made the two broken tree branches and made them into a cross, tying it together with the fabric.

After fang had done that, he placed the cross in front of his sisters grave and then hung the necklace she had given to him for his birthday on the cross. "Rest now...sister, i will see you again." he said, and then went back to where the others were.

I sighed in relief. I was glad Fang hadn't taken his life. Another death in such a short time would be unfortunate, to say the least. However, that voice on the wind...The dead just didn't rest as they used to - Enir coming back to life, Alythe's message over the winds...

With a tired look on my face and a tone of exhaustion sneaking into my voice I asked the human's leader," Can't you see, we are closer to your species than you think, and we need your help to protect whats left and rebuild it anew. Will you help us?" I relaxed a little as my mate held onto me and I pushed back my instinct to stay defensive and turned slight to my side and held her in a tight hug, while still keeping an eye on the humans.
