Coming to Terms (( Invite Only ))

Post by Ashakira »

One month... One month it's been since she was bitten and she highly resented her new self. Ever since her first change she had to move out of her home in hopes to start over and maybe gain some control over the monster in her. And to think she had liked the monster she now was. Werewolf... What happened to the good old days when they were just in books and movies?

Ankita sat quietly at a computer desk within the public library, looking up files after files of anything on werewolves that would connect her to control her wolf. So far all she's got was stuff that didn't match her situation. Alright so it was true she would change on a full moon... but it wasn't always on a full moon, sometimes it was before. Certain emotions when provoked enough seemed to trigger the Shift just as much as the moon does.

She didn't understand at all what it was about the moon that caused it. Groaning in frustration she clicked out of another window and brought up another one. Well this was interesting... Werewolves having three forms? Human, Wolf, and Werewolf or anthro. Oh brother... Ankita closed that window to then got off the computer all together. She picked up the books she had picked out then headed to the front desk and checked them out.

To think what her life was like before this... it angered her and made her want to hunt down the one responsible for taking her life away.

Silver walked silently down the path through the woods,it was getting kind of dark, and the only light that was lighting the path was from the half fullmoon.

Up ahead in the distance,he could see his cabin he used to stay at on the weekends, but ever since the night he became a werewolf he has not left.

When he got to his cabin,he started a fire, and went to sleep on the couch in front of it.

*ooc: Sorry; I'm a bit rusty with role playing. Hope this will be ok*

A girl about 18 years old rode alone on a dark blue mountain bike. She was dressed in a simple T-shirt, blue jeans and old sneakers. She peddled silently through the small town, looking up at the darkening sky every once in a while. It was about twilight; the lampposts were lighting up, along with the neon signs of the local businesses. Her skin prickled with anticipation at the thought of tonight. The girl closed her eyes briefly, enjoying the cool evening breeze against her face, blowing out her medium length red hair. She slowed down in front of the local library, a hint of a familiar scent in the air. The breeze shifted and it was gone. She hesitated a moment before moving on with a shrug. "Probably nothing..."
The girl peddled down a gravel road that lead away from the buildings and houses. Soon the gravel gave way to a dirt path, winding through a forest. She felt more at ease already, drifting down a hill with the scents of rotting leaves, dirt, trees and wildlife wreathed around her. After peddling off track awhile along a deer trail, she stopped and got off her old bike. 'This looks like a good enough spot,' she thought to herself. Carefully she hid her bike and bag under a bush. She hung up her other bag containing food up on a tree branch via rope. Satisfied, she wandered deeper into the darkening forest to a small clearing. With a sigh, she sat down and watched the sky, waiting for the moon to rise.

By the time Ankita walked out of the library, the girl on her bike had passed. She happened to pick up the girl's scent but it was too faint for her thanks to the wind. Oh well... nothing she would be interested in. A sudden intense tingling in her skin caught her attention, her eyes snapped to the sky and she cursed under her breath.

Full moon tonight...

Seeing a path that led out of town she ran down it, putting her checked out books in her bag as she went. Gravel and soon dirt crunched under her shoes. Ankita kept running and running until she felt she was well out of sight. She began to strip her clothing, no longer wearing undergarments to cause less trouble.

Ankita then got on all four and let her Shift take place. This first part was always the worse. Her bones snapped loudly in the night as each readjusted itself to a new position within the body, she gritted her teeth hard the entire time to not cry out but she still whimpered.

Silver blue fur began to coat her body with a white underside and a black patch on her back. A intense feeling like a migraine... no worse than that... pounded her head as it shifted and became longer in front.

When she was finally done she collapsed on the ground and layed there. If there's a easier and faster way to Shift she's looking forward to it. But as far as she knew all newly bitten werewolves had to at least gain control before the Shift is easier. Not to mention on will...

Ankita whimpered a bit then shakily got to her feet, shaking the dirt and leaves from her fur.

Silver awoke to find that it was dark and the moon was full. "Have i really slept that long?" he asked himself looking to the moon.

He stepped outside of his cabin and the change took him,the pain of it was so intense it made him want to scream, but he gritted his teeth to keep from doing so.

Black fur with brown mixed in covered his body with a blondish streak running from his chest to his belly.

When the change was over,he stood up and howled.

The moon was just in sight above the treeline and she sensed the Change could not be put off much longer. Quickly she stood up and undressed; hiding her clothes and shoes under a bush. She finished just in time as she felt the first wave of the Change take over her body. With a grunt, she kneeled down to all fours as her ears pointed and moved up her head. Her fingers and toes throbbed as nails shifted to dark claws. Wincing, her spine started to slowly extend from her body, growing into a tail. The undercoat of her soon-to-be pelt grew lightly across her body, as her face pressed out into a muzzle. It was painful, but nowhere near as bad as when she was first starting out years ago. Her bones made some snapping sounds as she let herself go to full wolf form. Fingers and feet turned to paws and her red pelt finished growing in all the way. Her green eyes were now a shining gold color.
Finished, the wolf sat in the cool grass panting, catching her breath from the Change. The only reminder that she was human a moment ago was just the necklace that she wore. Her fur was the same russet red as she had in human form, with a lighter, creamer shade on her neck, chest, paws and underbelly. A darker shade of red tipped her tail and made up the wide strip going down her back. She stood up and stretched, enjoying the feel of her wolf form. Scenting a rabbit nearby, she started to follow the trail, feeling hungry. A piercing howl suddenly broke the usual forest sounds. The wolf stopped in her tracks, the rabbit forgotten. 'Another here?' she thought, trotting carefully towards the source of the howl. 'Or is it a real wolf? Could there be a pack here?' The last thing she wanted was to be attacked by a pack of angry wolves...again. Sitting down, she decided to let her presence be known be letting out a returning howl. She let her voice rise and fall before slowly trailing off. Pricking her ears, she waited for any more howls in reply.

His ears perked. "Well,i thought there would be another around here somewhere." he said to himself.

He then returned the howl, letting his voice carry for awhile then slowly drop into silence.

What's with all the howling? Ankita wondered, her wolf ears pointing forward as she tried to trace both howls. One of them was closer to her so she decided to check it out. Her body was still aching from her change but curiosity won out over that.

As Ankita came closer she listened to the leaves crunching under her paws, the sound relaxed her slightly. Pretty soon she came upon a russet colored female that seemed to have her attention else where. She couldn't tell if the female was a normal wolf or like her but... she was pretty big compared to normal wolves.

Cautiously she made a small bark like sound to the russet wolf but instantly regretted it. What if this wolf attacked her?! She wouldn't know how to defend herself... Ankita whimpered and got down on her belly as what she thought was submissive, she knew it was get on your back but there was just no way she was making herself that vulnerable!

The wolf took another few steps forward at the sound of the other howling in the distance. As she mulled over her options, a small bark seemed to come out of nowhere behind her. She gave a little jump in her surprise, spinning around. 'Another here?!' she thought; hackles raised; angry with herself for dropping her guard. Seeing it was just one lone wolf, who seemed submissive, she relaxed a bit. The russet wolf trotted warily over to the other, silvery blue female. Her tail rose in the air and her ears pricked forward as her wolf instincts to be dominant over submissive started to take over. With a light growl, she shook her head, having to stop herself from baring fangs at the newcomer. She backed away a few steps, sniffing the air. Her emerald green eyes widened as she realized this was another werewolf. Was that howling she heard earlier from this female's pack? She lowered her tail and head to show she was at a relaxed state. <Hello, my name is Alana; who are you?> she asked looking at the other. The wolf used mind-speaking, the only way she knew how to communicate in full wolf form verbally. She looked around, sniffing at the night air cautiously, <Is this your territory?> Alana didn’t remember passing through any scent markers, but she may of missed it when riding her bike earlier.

(ooc: is talking telepathically in wolf form ok? I can change it you would prefer; she could turn to gestalt form instead and talk that way...)

(OOC: telepathy in feral form is fine, actually I would have used it in my post if I'd known you were okay with it :3)

Ankita studied the russet female carefully as she took a dominant stance over her. She didn't seem to be baring her teeth though. That was a good sign right? After a few minutes the russet female seemed to relax herself after had inspected the air, the next thing that happened though scared Ankita out of her wits. Did that female just speak in her head?!! Ankita stared at Alana carefully, trying to see if her muzzle moved but it never did other than for natural things.

<A-ankita... I'm Ankita.... I don't have a territory or a pack, I thought I was on your territory.> she finally thought to Alana hoping she did it right. She'd read about werewolves being able to talk to eachother in feral form but never thought it to be true. Well at least now she won't have to rely too much on natural wolf communication.

Ankita kept up her submissive stance despite Alana's relaxed one as she came closer. <Who were you howling to? A pack member?>

<No territory or pack? Guess we have something in common at least> she said, wagging her tail slightly in a wolf version of a smile. Alana took note of the others surprise, smelling the faint fear-scent coming from her. <It's ok, I won't bite...err, sorry about earlier, the instincts and all...> she lowered her ears a bit, embarrassed. To further prove she meant no harm, she laid down on the leafy ground, trying to relax. It was difficult though, it was not everyday she came across another of her own kind. 'Don't get too comfortable...there is still another out there...' She turned one ear behind her, listening for the third wolf.
Alana looked back up to Ankita, who still looked awkward standing there. The russet wolf shook her head, <I have no idea who it was...I thought you two were pack-mates.> Her fur prickled uneasily. Was that a friend or foe out there? <It could be a normal wolf...maybe.> she said with doubt. < Do you want to go track 'em down?> 'If it is a possible ambush, we should find them before they find us...' she thought to herself. She rose her black nose to the cool breeze and sniffed, trying to pick out the strangers scent. She glanced back to Ankita, hoping she would be able to defend herself if need be. 'I wonder if she is newly bitten...' Alana mused to herself. Probably not...all newly bittens that she has heard of always stay with their adopted packs, or at the very least, with their mentors, the ones who originally turned them. Perhaps a newly-changed born werewolf then. All she knew was that she didn’t get the impression that this was an experienced werewolf...
Alana sat up, trying to focus on finding the third werewolf scent. <His howls...sounded like a 'he' anyway, didn't sound threatening or like a warning...so that’s a good sign at least.>

Track the other down? Oh yeah that sounded fun... Ankita sniffed the air to catch the third wolf's scent but at this distance she couldn't smell anything that smelled like a wolf other than Alana and herself.

She had relaxed when Alana layed down but tensed right back up as the russet female stared at her for a longer period of time she would have liked. Was it that unusual to come across another werewolf? Had she known what Alana was thinking she would have surely been upset.

<Well... I suppose we could check it out...> She said finally and got to her feet, once again shaking the dirt and leaves from her fur. Her ears were pointed forward in alert but her tail was tucked between her legs.

Light blue eyes scanned the area while she waited for Alana to take the lead.

Alana wagged her tail, standing up to all fours. <I think the howl came from the north, deeper in the forest,> she said, trotting along a narrow path that prey used. The wind had shifted, blowing from behind them now; this would make locating the third wolf even more difficult. Not to mention their scent would be blowing towards the stranger now...
Alana tried not to let that spoil her mood. She set off at a faster pace, loping through the dark forest. One of her favorite things about shifting was that it felt like she could run forever without getting tired and out of breath. Her russet tail billowed out behind her as she started running full speed for the pure joy of it. The full moon shone down through the branches, illuminating her way. She dodged bushes and trees, leaping over rotting logs and tree roots. The forest became a blur as she raced on. It felt like her paws hardly touched the ground at all. A rocky outcrop appeared before her and she leapt about 6 feet onto the nearest mossey boulder. Her dark claws hooked into whatever they could find to prevent her from slipping off.
She stood there, scanning the forest around her. She had almost forgotten about finding the stranger wolf and that Ankita was following her as well. 'I really have to control myself better...' she thought with an annoyed whine. Alana sat on her haunches and waited for Ankita to come out of the treeline to the clearing she was now in. 'I hope she was following me ok...'

Ankita's blue eyes widened in surprise as Alana suddenly took off at a speed that seemed unreal. But then werewolves were not suppose to be real. She picked up the pace and suddenly felt something she didn't normally feel. Excitement... toward running... She ran faster and faster and it only added to her excitement, now she knew why Alana had run so fast.

Even so Ankita still had trouble getting around as easy as Alana did. The silver blue wolf would stumble over unseen roots or jump a log wrong sending her flying into the dirt or simply slumped over the rotting wood.

Any chance of the forest becoming a blur to her would end with each mess up. Not to mention she wasn't even being quiet, her paws thumping against the earth could be heard for miles with the sensitive ears werewolves had. Ankita was starting to worry she was going to tip off the stranger.

She finally found Alana sitting on a mossy rock but she didn't dare try to jump on it or any other rocks, instead Ankita simply slowed to a trot and sat down beside the rock the russet wolf was on. <So? Catch anything else of this stranger?> Ankita asked, hoping Alana never caught how bad she did during the run.

Alana pointed an ear towards the woods as she heard the pounding of paws and the crashing of the undergrowth. Suddenly Ankita came bursting forth from the bushes to the clearing. Patiently, Alana waited for the silvery gray wolf to slow down to a trot and come over to the boulder that she sat atop. A couple birds flew from their perches in the tree tops, startled by all the noise.
Alana sniffed the night breeze again, but couldn't pick up anything. Stifling a growl of frustration, she just shook her head. <No sign of him...perhaps he moved on...> She clawed at the moss under her paws, thinking. <We should keep an ear out for him though, in case he circles back....he may of just been passing through....> Alana looked down at Ankita, wondering why she didn't just jump up, the tall boulders were a good lookout point for the area. Scratching behind her ear with a footpaw, she sighed, wondering what to do. <So, how long have you been a werewolf now anyways?> she asked, sliding part way down the boulder before jumping off to stand besides Ankita.

OOC: sorry been busy :(

Ankita waited and listened with Alana for the other werewolf but like she said there didn't seem to be any sign of him. That should be good news right? Suddenly Alana came beside her asking how long she'd been a werewolf. That was a bit touchy for her. Ankita's ears pinned back and she looked away. <About a month...> Was all she said.

The wind picked up harshly, causing some dust to fly from behind her and Alana, little rocks pelting Ankita's skin through her silver blue fur. <What about you?> Ankita asked suddenly without looking up.

ooc: Its alright :)

<A month?> Alana said, blinking with surprise. She studied Ankita's face and body language, seeing how uncomfortable she was. She sensed she was new at being a werewolf but not THIS new. Alana took a step forward, ears lowering. <This..this isn’t your first time is it?> she asked with concern. She has never heard of a new werewolf on there own before. There should always be a pack helping, or at the very least a mentor. Alana wanted to ask more but kept silent; this seemed to be a bit of a touchy subject with Ankita. Her tail swished behind her as she wondered what happened with her. Alana sat down, willing her tail to stay still. <Me? I was born this way. My first Change happened when I was about 12 though.> She smiled inwardly thinking of her early days. She had been so jealous of the others ability to shift; waiting for the day when she would experience her first change. She missed her small pack... Alana shook her head; the wind blowing harshly across the field. She blinked, trying to get dust out of her eyes. <So, your on your own then?> she asked Ankita quietly.

Silver caught the scent of to other wolves, but instead of comming to them,hi desided to wait for them to come to him,he was still kind of weak from the change and did not want to move until he was confident he would not fall down when he started to walk.

Ankita shook her head, <If you mean first time shifting, no. No it's not my first time...> she made a small whine that sounded like a sigh even as she listened to Alana's story. At least she was more use to this life by being born into it. When asked about being on her own Ankita looked up then whimpered, <Yes...>

It was bad enough being alone as a human. But now with her new wolf instincts it's worse. Wolves are meant to be in a pack, they are pack animals. Problem was that Ankita at the time had wanted nothing to do with the one that changed her or his pack so she ran for it. Technically she's still running but she wasn't going to tell Alana that.

Her front paws shifted through the dirt and leaves uncomfortably while she waited for Alana to say something or just be satisfied with her answer.

Silver liked the way it felt when the wind blew through his fur,he stood up and walked closer to where the scent was coming from and stood ther for a moment watching, then he sat on the ground, stretched out on his back and looked up to the moon and stars. He had always liked looking up at the stars, they way they always seemed to twinkle and sparkle, even on s cloudy night.

The wind picked up again,so he stood up and walked alittle bit further he ,he always did when the moon was full, but this time he had walked a far greater distance than he usually did,for a moment the wind died down again, but this time he continued to walk toward where the scent of the other wolves was coming from,it was like he was being drwn to them.

Alana nodded silently. She stood there for a while, thinking. 'She must of been randomly attacked by some rouge if she is all alone...' Her hackles rose slightly, 'They give all weres a bad name...'
<Well, I don't have a pack...not anymore. We could hang out; I can help you figure out how to be a werewolf if you'd like> she said. <We can look for other loners too; heh, if we find any decent males we really could start a new pack> she said with a wink, teasing.
Alana stood up, shaking out her russet fur. Gesturing with a tilt of her head and tail for Ankita to follow, she started walking deeper into the forest. She started unwittingly to head in the direction of the third wolf, the wind blowing from behind them. <Come on, lets find something to eat, I'm starving,> she said, lowering her nose, sniffing for prey. She grinned, tongue lolling out, <Bet you never hunted before; or at least never caught anything...First time for everything> She waited for Ankita to give her opinion on what to do.

Hang out? And learn more of werewolves? That didn't sound bad at all. Ankita opened her mouth and let her tongue loll out as Alana had done in a way to show she was smiling, her tail wagged in support. <I'm not sure about coming to terms with my new life... but it would be nice to have a friend who understands and has experience.> she said as she followed the russet wolf.

The mention of food was enough to get her stomach rumbling. <You'd be right on that... I always get this feeling to chase but I just been avoiding it by scavenging instead.> Each time Alana dipped her head down to sniff, Ankita did the same and took a couple whiffs of the ground before bringing her head back up to sniff the air.

There was a part of the air that stopped her in her tracks. It was faint but she could have sworn she caught scent of another wolf. Problem is... was it werewolf or normal? <Alana... Maybe we shouldn't go this way...> Ankita whimpered and started backing away, her tail tucking between her legs again.

(ooc: Sorry; been busy)

Alana wagged her tail as they walked. The fallen leaves crunched softly under her paws. <Its really not so hard when you get used to it,> she said, sniffing for prey. <Its nowhere near as bad as any of the movies make it out to be anyway> she said with a wink. <Everything is easier when your with your own kind> She had been lonely for the company of other weres for a long time as well. It felt good to have another wolf by her side for once.
She smelled the scent of a deer and picked up her pace, mouth watering. Alana turned an ear, making sure Ankita was keeping up ok. <Theres nothing like a fresh kill> she said, hearing Ankita's comment about scavenging. She followed the narrow path through winding trees, all her senses on alert for the deer. Her fur prickled with excitment. She hardly even heard Ankita say something about not wanting to go that way. Her wolf instincts were starting to take over again; the prey was so close she could almost taste it. <Come on; deer ahead> she said hoarsly to Ankita. She came to a stop, golden eyes glittering as she saw a doe standing only 15 feet away from her. It was looking in the opposite direction of the wolves. Alana felt her legs tingle, wanting to give chase, but she managed to stay in place, waiting for Ankita to join her. It was a struggle to keep her instincts under control; it always has been for her in situations like this. Alana tore her gaze from the deer to look behind her for Ankita.

The fact that Alana was still going was scaring Ankita out of her wits. Did she not smell the other wolf?! <Alana!! Wait!!> she cried as she made pursuit. Her panic made her silver blue fur bristle and her lips curl up, when the russet wolf was within site she broke into a run and jumped Alana with a snarl.

<Alana it's not safe!! We need to move somewhere else!!> Ankita screamed at the russet wolf then clamped her teeth down hard on Alana's neck but not hard enough to break skin. She couldn't let her possible new found friend walk right into the merciless grasp of the stranger. Her claws attempted to dig into the leave covered ground as she fully layed on Alana to hopefully pin her down.

Silver could tell that the other wolves were close,so he walked towards them,he had no intention of harming them,he was just lonely and looking for a friend. He continued to walk knowing he was getting closer to the other wolves, knowing that they were just a few yards away from him, he continued to walk closer to them, his paws sinking in to the leaf covered ground.
If you talk to the animals, they will talk to you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them, you will not know them and what you do not know you fear, and what one fears one destroys.

Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for a friend.

You say werewolf like its a bad thing.
